How can someone rise for prayer when they are in chains? They don’t even realize what punishment they’re enduring...

As Imam Ali (peace be upon him) beautifully puts it:

“Your daytime sins have tied you down.”

A person who is shackled can’t stand freely — someone in captivity is not free to move.
Let us purify our days, so we may be free in our nights. 🌺
