The Night Prayers of Martyr Sayyad Shirazi Never Missed a Single Night
Before Operation Badr, under orders from the then-Commander-in-Chief of the IRGC, I was tasked with secretly taking Martyr Sayyad Shirazi to the Majnoon Islands at night — without informing any other commanders — to brief him on the operation’s preparations. It had to be at night to avoid anyone seeing him.
So, one night, just the two of us — no bodyguards — drove there in a Toyota pickup. We inspected the area until late at night. When we were done, we planned to rest a bit and leave after Fajr (morning prayer). Exhausted, we went to a bunker to sleep.
But shortly after I dozed off, I woke up and noticed the bunker was dark — and Sayyad wasn’t there. I rushed out in a panic… only to find him, despite all that fatigue, deep in night prayer (Tahajjud).

Those who rise from their beds in the stillness of night to stand before their Lord.
📖 “Their sides forsake their beds to invoke their Lord in fear and hope…”
(📗 Surah As-Sajdah, 32:16)
And Allah says:
📖 “No soul knows what has been hidden for them of comfort for eyes as reward for what they used to do.”
