🔻 He persistently urged Imam Khomeini for half an hour to withdraw his statement! But suddenly, he put down the phone and sat in a corner of the room…
🔻 The story was that the Bakhtiar government had declared martial law from 4 PM on 21 Bahman 1357 (February 10, 1979). However, Imam Khomeini responded with a statement instructing the people not to stay at home and to disregard the martial law.
🔻 At this point, Ayatollah Taleghani argued:
"The Imam has been away from Iran for 15 years and may not fully realize how ruthless the regime’s executioners are. If people take to the streets, they will be massacred! Therefore, it is best for everyone to stay in their homes."
🔻 After Ayatollah Taleghani ended the call, those around him thought he was upset with the Imam…
🔻 But then he said:
"No, that’s not the case at all. I kept insisting, and the Imam kept responding, but I wasn’t convinced. Finally, he said: ‘Ayatollah Taleghani! Stop insisting! Consider the possibility that this order is coming from Imam Mahdi (AJ).’ As soon as the Imam said this, I trembled, involuntarily put down the phone, and felt completely shaken."
🔸 P.S. 1: It was later revealed that the regime had planned a massive massacre and a bombing at Imam Khomeini’s location on the afternoon of 21 Bahman 1357 (February 10, 1979), aiming to brutally crush the revolution. Yet, by the grace of Imam Mahdi (AJ) and the presence of the people, their final shot missed the target!
🔸 P.S. 2: If the demonstrations leading to victory were guided by the Sahib al-Zaman (AJ) himself, then wouldn’t our participation in the rallies that sustain the revolution—like the 22nd of Bahman march—also bring his blessings and approval?
