🔹 Verse 150 — Surah An-Nisa | Wilayah & Mahdism Explained
🌙 The Noble Verse
“Indeed, those who disbelieve in Allah and His messengers and wish to make a distinction between Allah and His messengers, and say, ‘We believe in some and reject others,’ and wish to adopt a way in between.”
(An-Nisa, 4:150)
✍️ Wilayah Narrations
✅ Ali ibn Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him) 💬 “This verse refers to those who believed in the Prophet (peace be upon him and his family) but rejected the guardianship (wilayah) of the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him). They sought to separate Allah from His messengers. These are the very people who said: ‘We believe in some and disbelieve in others,’ and they tried to choose a path separate from the line of prophethood and wilayah.”
📚 Tafsir Ahl al-Bayt (AS), vol. 3 | Al-Qummi | Al-Burhan
✅ Imam al-Sadiq (peace be upon him) 💬 “When he was asked: ‘Are all Muslims part of the Ummah of Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family)?’ he replied: ‘No! The true Ummah are the followers of the Ahl al-Bayt, and whoever does not acknowledge the virtues of the Ahl al-Bayt is among those who believe in some and reject others.’”
📚 Tafsir Ahl al-Bayt (AS), vol. 3 | Da’a’im al-Islam
🌟 Wilayah Perspective
🔹 This verse unveils the reality of the great deviation after the Prophet (PBUH): separating the path of Tawhid from the path of Wilayah.
🔹 Incomplete and selective belief is, in fact, disbelief in part of the religion—because the religion of God is whole and perfected through Wilayah.
🔹 Whoever separates the Prophet from his Ahl al-Bayt is a “true disbeliever,” and in the narrations, rejecting Wilayah is described as severing the bond between God and His Messenger.
✨ Mahdist Perspective
🔸 In the era of occultation, this same separation persists: outward acceptance of Islam but denial of the guardianship of the Master of the Age (may Allah hasten his reappearance).
🔸 The waiting community must guard itself against falling into the slogan: “We believe in some and reject others.”
🔸 Imam Mahdi (AJ) is the perfect embodiment of the unity of Tawhid, Prophethood, and Wilayah; whoever denies his Wilayah is included in this verse.
✅ Wilayah & Mahdist Conclusion
✔️ The path of true faith is complete connection with Allah, His Messenger, and the infallible successors (peace be upon them).
✔️ Partial belief is nothing but gradual disbelief and the path of deviation for nations.
✔️ The reappearance of Imam Mahdi (AJ) will end all these divisions; the complete and united faith will be manifest in the light of his Wilayah.

🔹 Verse 153 — Surah An-Nisa | Wilayah & Mahdism Explained
🌙 The Noble Verse
“The People of the Book ask you to bring down to them a Book from the sky. Indeed, they asked Moses for something even greater when they said, ‘Show us Allah openly.’ So the thunderbolt struck them for their wrongdoing. Then they took the [golden] calf [for worship] after clear proofs had come to them, yet We pardoned that, and We gave Moses a clear authority.” (An-Nisa, 4:153)
✍️ Wilayah Narrations
✅ Imam al-Mahdi (may Allah hasten his reappearance) 💬 In the well-known narration of Sa‘d ibn ‘Abdullah al-Qummi, Imam al-Askari (peace be upon him) told him that the choice of an Imam is not left to the people. Even if a divinely protected prophet like Moses (peace be upon him) appointed representatives among his people, they could still fail. In this verse, God points to the poor choice of the seventy from the Israelites who were struck by the thunderbolt because they failed to comprehend the divine trust.
📚 Tafsir Ahl al-Bayt (AS), vol. 3 | Bihar al-Anwar | Kamal al-Din
✅ Imam al-Askari (peace be upon him) 💬 This verse shows how the Israelites denied the Prophethood of Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family) and the Imamate of Ali (peace be upon him), setting impossible conditions to accept the truth: “Show us God openly!” Their excuses were a sign of their obstinacy toward Wilayah and truth.
📚 Tafsir Ahl al-Bayt (AS), vol. 3 | Bihar al-Anwar
✅ Imam Ali (peace be upon him) 💬 Imam Ali (peace be upon him) said in explaining this verse that in the very tablets given to Moses, God made the Wilayah of Muhammad and the Family of Muhammad (peace be upon them) obligatory upon all the Israelites, but they refused. God suspended the mountain above them so they would confess, even though they opposed it in their hearts. This is a clear sign of their stubbornness against the truth of Wilayah.
📚 Tafsir Ahl al-Bayt (AS), vol. 3 | Bahr al-‘Irfan
🌟 Wilayah Perspective
🔹 The essence of this verse is the continued stubbornness and excuse-making in the face of truth. The People of the Book saw the truth of the Prophet (PBUH) and the Ahl al-Bayt (AS) but, like their ancestors with Moses (AS), they acted arrogantly.
🔹 The Wilayah of the Commander of the Faithful (AS) and the Imams (AS) is that same “heavenly Book” revealed in continuity with Prophethood—but deniers, with obstinacy, chose the path of rejection.
🔹 This verse warns that denying Wilayah is the “calf-worship” of the modern age.
✨ Mahdist Perspective
🔸 In the era of Occultation, the global community follows the same path of stubbornness toward the Proof of God, Imam Mahdi (AJ): making excuses, rejecting clear signs, and ignoring divine proofs.
🔸 Demanding open miracles and baseless conditions is the way of the Israelites—whereas true faith is to accept the unseen and the Imamate without excuses or conditions.
🔸 The reappearance of Imam Mahdi (AJ) will end this modern calf-worship and reveal the thunderbolt-like truth once again.
✅ Wilayah & Mahdism Conclusion
✔️ The Proof of God is always manifest—whether in the tablets of Moses, the Wilayah of Ali, or the Occultation of Mahdi (AJ).
✔️ The deniers of Wilayah are the remnants of the calf-worshippers who persistently reject the heaven of truth.
✔️ True expectation means rejecting excuses and fully submitting to the Wilayah of God’s Proof.
