Jewish Influence within the Governmental Organization of the Prophet of Islam
The Martyrdom of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)
According to what are regarded as authoritative narrations, the Noble Messenger of Islam passed away as a martyr. (2) Some have attributed his martyrdom to poison administered by a Jewish woman who had poisoned a piece of sheep's meat during the Battle of Khaybar and fed it to him. (3)
However, a major objection has been raised against this view: given the four-year interval between the Battle of Khaybar and the Prophet's martyrdom, did the effects of the poison really take four years to manifest?! Therefore, it cannot be accepted that this poison was related to Khaybar.
Perhaps history was altered and the word “Khaybar” was added in order to obscure a particular thread in the winding paths of history.
The martyrdom of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) occurred at a highly sensitive and significant moment. Precisely when he had mobilized Usama's army to advance toward Mu'tah and avenge the Muslims' previous defeat there, the Prophet's condition suddenly changed, without any prior indication.
Had Usama been victorious in that battle, the strong barrier of the Jews on the road toward Jerusalem would have fallen. Moreover, with the defeat of the Jews, hypocrisy in Medina would also have been defeated, and the Jews would have lost their last remaining source of hope.
Therefore, the Jews supposedly took action to prevent the conquest of Jerusalem by the Prophet of Islam (ﷺ). If the Prophet (ﷺ) had lived for just one more month and this army had set out, the defeat of the Jews would have been certain. It was at this point, according to this account, that the hypocrites of Medina poisoned the Prophet (ﷺ) in order to preserve their own survival and that of the Jews. (4)
The Two Faces of the Jews
We have stated that the Jews had devised an operation against the Prophet (ﷺ) in three stages:
1. Assassinating the Prophet (ﷺ), or preventing his birth.
2. Establishing fortifications and obstacles in the Prophet's path to prevent him from reaching Jerusalem; the final operation at Mu'tah was halted with the death of the Noble Prophet (ﷺ).
3. Infiltrating the Prophet's governmental system if such a government were established.
So far, we have discussed the first two aspects of the Jewish operation. We now wish to examine how the Jews infiltrated the governmental system of the Prophet (ﷺ).
The Jews possessed extensive information about Islam—not only about the Noble Prophet (ﷺ), (5) but also information about his successors in their scriptures. They allegedly knew the Ahl al-Bayt (AS) as well as they knew their own children. The signs of the appearance of the savior of the end times (AS) were said to have been recorded in the books of Daniel, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and Isaiah.
The Jews therefore knew that the mission of the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) would continue through his successors.
Thus, if the banner that had been halted at Mu'tah were raised by Ali (AS), and he continued the operation and conquered Jerusalem, it would be as though the Prophet (ﷺ) himself had conquered it. If Ali (AS) conquered a territory, that territory would supposedly never again leave Muslim hands.

“A very bright, blissful, and humane future, in which evil and corruption will be uprooted from their very foundations, awaits humanity. This is an inspiration conveyed by religion. The sacred promise of the uprising and revolution of the promised Mahdi (AS) in Islam is rooted in this inspiration.” (1)

The Saqifah of the Children of Israel!
Among the bitter historical facts that have been concealed is the role of the Jews in the usurpation of the caliphate of Imam Ali (AS) and in the events of Saqifah. Very little about this subject appears in the major books of Qur’anic exegesis and history.
A small number of respected scholars and academics have addressed this subject, but their discussions have largely focused on historical conjectures and supporting evidence.
The most important evidence for this matter is Verse 60 of Surah Al-Isra:
According to historical sources from both Shiite and Sunni traditions—including al-Khatib al-Baghdadi, al-Tirmidhi, Ibn Jarir, al-Tabari, al-Bayhaqi, Ibn Mardawayh, and Shaykh al-Kulayni, author of Al-Kafi—the occasion connected with this verse concerns the famous vision of the Prophet ﷺ, in which he saw monkeys sitting upon his blessed pulpit.
Since the pulpit at that time was specifically associated with the Prophet ﷺ and his successors, this vision signified a serious warning concerning the danger facing the caliphate and succession of the Prophet ﷺ. The Prophet ﷺ was therefore deeply concerned about the future of Islam and the Ahl al-Bayt (AS).
Following this event, Verse 60 of Surah Al-Isra was revealed. Allah states that this vision was shown to the Prophet ﷺ for two purposes:
1️⃣ To test the people
That is, after this serious and shocking warning had been conveyed to the Muslim community, would Muslims respond appropriately to the deviation concerning the caliphate of Imam Ali (AS)?
2️⃣ To reveal the true nature of the tribe described as accursed in the Qur’an
The word shajarah can also refer to a tribe or family.
The important question is: Which tribe is described as accursed in the Qur’an?
The answer is found through examining the Qur’an. The people repeatedly described as cursed include the Children of Israel, who are mentioned as being cursed approximately nine times, including in Verses 60 and 78 of Surah Al-Ma’idah.
Thus, Verse 60 of Surah Al-Isra warns of the serious danger posed by the Israelites of that era concerning the usurpation of Imam Ali’s (AS) caliphate.
You may have heard the narration from Imam al-Sadiq (AS) many times. When he was asked about the meaning of “the accursed tree in the Qur’an,” he replied:
(Tafsir Nur, Tafsir al-Tibyan, Tafsir Lahiji)
When these narrations are considered together with Verse 60 of Surah Al-Isra, the conclusion is clear:
The Children of Israel are repeatedly cursed in the Qur’an, and the narration identifying the accursed tree with the Umayyads is established. Therefore, the Umayyads descended from the Children of Israel and were originally Roman, and they had no blood relationship with Banu Hashim.
A significant narration confirming that the Umayyads and Banu Hashim were not blood relatives is recorded in Bihar al-Anwar, Vol. 31, p. 458.
