Tooth development & Eruption
• Before Birth
- at the #third_week after conception the primitive mouth has formed. Over the next few weeks the tongue, jaws and palate develop.
-During the #sixth_week formation of embryonic cells or tooth buds that eventually form into teeth commences.
-By #eight_weeks, the tooth buds of all of the primary (baby) teeth can be discerned.
-by #twenty_weeks, the tooth buds of permanent teeth start to develop.
• After Birth
Normally, the first primary teeth start to appear in the mouth around #six_months after birth.
{The primary central incisors, lateral incisors, first molars, canines and second molars appear in this order at intervals from 6-24 months.}
#NOTES
• For each tooth type, lower teeth tend to appear about two months before the uppers.
• By age two and a half years, most children have their full complement of 20 primary teeth.
• As the child grows, the jaws also grow and spaces may begin to appear between the primary teeth. This growth takes spaces for the larger permanent teeth.
• Tooth eruption times vary widely from child to child.
• From as early as age 5 years, normally the four first permanent molars, begin to appear in the mouth. These erupt at the very back of the mouth behind the last primary tooth.
• At the same time, the two primary lower central incisors begin to loosen and fall out as the permanent lower central incisors emerge in their place.
• Over the following six years or so, the remaining 18 primary teeth fall out and are replaced by permanent teeth.
• From about age 11years, the four second permanent molars appear behind the first permanent molars.
• The last teeth to appear are the third molars or wisdom teeth. Not everybody has third molars and there is considerable variation in the age at which they erupt.
• Tooth eruption;
It's penetration of teeth through the overlying gingiva and appear in the mouth.
• The teeth normally erupt when they have reached 2/3 root length.
• The eruption process occurs due to
-pressure.
-eruptive forces.
-elongation and completion of root formation.
-some studies said it have enzymatic correlation.
But the exact eruption mechanism is not clear yet.

#FIRST :-
The dental pulp :-
¤Is a soft tissue of mesenchymql origin located in
the center of the tooth
Is consist of :-
¤Specialized cells , odontoblast arranded peripherally in direct contact with dentin matrix.
¤ Due to presence of the specialized cells , i.e. odontoblast , which can diffrentiate into hard tissue secreting cells ; the pulpbretainsbits ability to form dentein throughout life.

#Lecture (2)
#Odontiasis = {Teething} = {
Teething is the process by which a baby's teeth erupt, or break through the gums. It's generally occurs between 6 to 24 months of age.
#When_do_babies_start_teething?
teething symptoms precedes the eruption of a tooth by several days. While a baby's first tooth can appear between 4 - 10 months of age, the first tooth usually erupts at approximately 6 months of age. But variations have noted a family pattern of "early," "average," or "late" teethers.
#What_are_the_signs_and_symptoms_of_teething?
• It's generally associated with gum and jaw discomfort😭 as the tooth moves beneath the surface of the gum tissue, the area may appear slightly red or swollen.
• Sometimes a fluid-filled area similar to a "blood blister" may be seen over the erupting tooth.
• The larger molars may cause more discomfort due to their larger surface area that can't "slice" through the gum tissue as an erupting incisor.
• Increased drooling. 🤤
• Restless or decreased sleeping due to gum discomfort. ⬇️😴
• Refusal of food due to soreness of the gum. 🚫🥘🤐
• Bringing hands to the mouth and try to bite everything.
• Mild rash around the mouth due to skin irritation secondary to excessive drooling.
• Rubbing the cheek or ear region as a consequence of referred pain during the eruption of the molars.
#How_long_does_teething_last?
Children will commonly have variable discomfort. Somebabies are bothered more than others during the migration through the tissues deep to the gum line. Because of their shape, molars are more likely to be associated with teething discomfort.
#When_should_you_call_the_pediatrician_about_teething_pain?
teething is so common and other symptoms such as fever, fussiness, and diarrhea are also common, both conditions may often occur at the same time. Other illnesses or disorders (such as viral infections) are much more likely to be causing fever, fussiness, and/or nasal congestion with cough and diarrhea. It is important to contact a doctor if these or other symptoms seem concerning.
🚫Do not assume that they are just from teething..
Will be continued...
