The sacred well at the ancient Ayyamkulangara Uma Maheswara temple is being deepened as there is water scarcity.

The traditional trustees are not able to restore the temple, neither will allow others to restore. Reasons are not clear.

This is the broken Idol of Azhikkattu ParaSreeramaswamy Temple. There was no damage to the idol in this temple which was destroyed during Tipu's campaign.

But Rajan, a local, entered the sanctum sanctorum and hit the idol with a pickaxe. This incident took place in 2003.

After many years, the temple was restored. The temple was restored by the Ugra Narasimha Charitable Trust.

The temple is situated in Pattithara panchayat of Palakkad district.

Reviving a temple from ruins has two major aspects

1. Architecture, where the physical structure is rebuilt

2. Spiritual, where the needed worship is done and the Divinity in the temple is strengthened through mantra and tantra.

In year 2015, district administration clearly demarcated the boundaries of the Cholakkara Durga temple in Malappuram after land survey.

However at night the jihadis removed all the survey stones and encroached temple land again.

Criminal cases were filed against Kunheen and others in 2015 for removing the stones and attempting to create riots.

Thankful to the judiciary, the case is coming up for hearing on 29 May 2023.
