🇷🇺 On June 13, 2026, a ceremonial event marking Russia Day was held in Manama.
The celebration was organized by the Russian-speaking compatriots’ association “Compatriots”, headed by Anna Egorchenkova, with the support of the Russian Embassy in Bahrain. Welcoming remarks were delivered by the Russian Ambassador to Bahrain, Dr. Alexey Skosyrev, and the Chairman of the Bahrain-Russia Friendship Society, Dr. Nabil Al-Assoumi.
Addressing the audience, Dr. Alexey Skosyrev highlighted Russia’s rich historical heritage, its contribution to world culture, and the significance of the Russian language as one of the languages of international communication. Particular emphasis was placed on Russia’s greatest asset — its people.
The event, held in a warm and friendly atmosphere, brought together Embassy staff, members of the “Compatriots” artistic ensemble, graduates of Soviet and Russian universities, and members of the Russian compatriot community residing in Bahrain.
Guests enjoyed a diverse cultural programme showcasing Russia’s rich historical and cultural heritage. The concert featured contemporary and traditional Russian songs, poetry by renowned Russian authors, as well as original literary and musical works.
Attendees were also invited to view an exhibition of traditional folk arts and crafts representing the peoples of Russia, alongside illustrations by contemporary Russian artist Ruslan Kuashev.
