US state-level abortion bans are associated with a reduction in evidence-based medical care for miscarriage management. This means more women were forced to carry pregnancies that weren’t viable, potentially putting their health and fertility at risk and prolonging…
⚖️ Study from Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) links state abortion bans to reduced medical care for miscarriages. Researchers found a shift away from effective medication management towards "expectant management" (waiting for it to happen naturally).

📈 Between 2018-2024, in states with abortion bans, researchers observed a 2.8% increase in expectant management and a 2.2% decrease in medication management for miscarriages in commercially insured individuals.

💊 Among those receiving medication for miscarriage, abortion ban states saw a 13.8% increase in using misoprostol alone, a less effective regimen compared to the combination of mifepristone and misoprostol.

⚠️ OHSU warns these findings, based on commercially insured patients, may underestimate the negative impact on those with Medicaid, who generally have less access to care.

Christian beliefs in divinely ordained roles for men and women are strongly tied to support for national population growth and restrictions on reproductive rights. These religious views shape not only family dynamics but also preferences for government policies.…
✝️ A study links religious beliefs about distinct gender roles (complementarianism) to support for national population growth and restrictions on reproductive rights.

📊 Researchers surveyed ~3,300 US adults in Sept-Oct 2025, finding complementarianism is a stronger predictor of pronatalist attitudes and opposition to reproductive rights than sexism or religious service attendance.

👶 Those holding complementarian views are 30% more likely to favor pronatalist attitudes and specifically prefer population growth from White and Christian couples.

⚖️ Complementarianism strongly predicts support for abortion bans, opposition to birth control, and preventing out-of-state travel for abortion care, with similar effects for both men and women.
