IIM Calcutta is inviting applications for Admission to PGPEX-VLM Batch 19 (2025-26) jointly with IIT Kanpur and IIT Madras for the future visionary leaders in the manufacturing sector in India. It is a one-year full-time residential programme for professionals with an engineering degree. This Residential Management Programme was conceived to develop manufacturing as a catalyst for the industry’s metamorphosis in competitive times. The course was designed by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, and the Ministry of Education, Government of India.

The National Manufacturing Competitiveness Council developed VLMP as a Flagship Programme under the Indo-Japan Cooperation Agreement, signed by the then Prime Ministers of India and Japan in December 2006.
