🎼Autumn 1941. Happy 80th Birthday 🥳🍾 to Simon & Garfunkel!!!
Paul Simon, born Paul Frederic Simon in Newark, New Jersey on 13 October 1941 and Art Garfunkel, born Arthur Ira Garfunkel in New York City on 5 November 1941.
Same age and friends since school days, both #PaulSimon and #ArtGarfunkel aimed to become rock singers in late 50s and influenced each other on music choices until they decided to found the most important folk rock duo of all time👏
#SimonAndGarfunkel became one of the best-selling music groups in the 1960s, thanks to immortal songs such as "The Sound of Silence" (1965), "Scarborough Fair" (1966), "Mrs. Robinson" (1968), "The Boxer" (1969) and "Bridge over Troubled Water" (1970)... which I post in the Chat Room👇
Their final studio album Bridge Over Troubled Water (1970) was the best selling record in history until Michael Jackson's Thriller (1982)!
Simon & Garfunkel reunited from time to time in 1990s and 2000s for concerts and tours which got inevitably sold out.
