The Left Banke
π Walk Away RenΓ©e/Pretty Ballerina
#BaroquePop #PsychedelicRock
55 years ago The Left Banke from New York City, #USA, released their debut album entitled after the first 2 singles of the band, Walk Away RenΓ©e/Pretty Ballerina.
The album had not particularly fair reception, only the 2 singles extracted had a good success, and the band remained quite obscure and marginalized, splitting up the following year.
In 1990s there was a huge revival of the 60s rock/pop music (above all in the UK) and Walk Away RenΓ©e/Pretty Ballerina became regarded as a definitive example of Baroque Pop, a sound that would be reprised 30 years later by many Brit Pop bands !
#TheLeftBanke were:
Steve Martin Caro β lead vocals
Michael Brown β piano, harpsichord, clavinet
Tom Finn β bass guitar, backing vocals
George Cameron β drums, percussion
Warren David-Schierhorst β drums
Jeff Winfield β electric guitar
Rick Brand β electric guitar
