Most of us have no clue what we want to do with our lives. Even after we finish school. Even after we get a job. Even after we’re making money. Between ages 18 and 25, I changed business aspirations more often than I changed my business industry. And even after I had a business, it took another two years to clearly define what I wanted for my life.

1. WHAT IS TRUE ABOUT YOU TODAY THAT WOULD MAKE YOUR 12-YEAR-OLD SELF CRY?

The funny thing though, is that if my 12-year-old self asked my 28-year-old self, “Why don’t you write anymore?” and I replied, “Because I’m not good at it,” or “Because nobody would read what I write,” or “Because you can’t make money doing that,” not only would I have been completely wrong, but that 12-year-old-boy version of me would have probably started crying. That 12-year-old boy didn’t care about Google traffic or social media virality or book advances. He just wanted to play. And that’s where passion always begins: with a sense of play.

2. HOW ARE YOU GOING TO SAVE THE WORLD?

So pick a problem and start saving the world. There are plenty to choose from. Our education systems, economic development, domestic violence, mental health care, governmental corruption.

3. IF YOU KNEW YOU WERE GOING TO DIE ONE YEAR FROM TODAY, WHAT WOULD YOU DO AND HOW WOULD YOU WANT TO BE REMEMBERED?

Ultimately, death is the only thing that gives us perspective on the value of our life. Because it’s only by imagining your non-existence that you can get a sense of what is most important about your existence. What is your legacy going to be? What are the stories people are going to tell when you’re gone? What is your obituary going to say? Is there anything to say at all? If not, what would you like it to say? How can you start working towards that today?

[How do you see yourself?]

A marathon runner or a sprinter?
.
What adjustment should you make in your daily life as a marathon runner?
.

I always consider myself a runner because I always dream big and I have my own goals to achieve, I always try my best to finish what I have started, and I know that I should not compete with others to the finish line because everybody has their tracks, but my life is full of competition, my parents always trained me to be a competitor to my friend, they always challenge me to be the number one in my class since elementary school, they even urge me to take extra classes to conquer my classmates, my parents always proud of me if I become the smartest on the class, they will brag it to their friends of my trophies and my certificates, they always push me to break my limit, they believe that I have not reached my full potential yet.
.
But I feel empty, all of those achievements feel nothing because I have no friends, and nobody wants to be my friends they tend to avoid me and sometimes bully me in my class, and they will ask me to be on their focus group discussion but they asked me to do all the hard work and carry them to get good scores, they used me, but I knew that it is the only way to gain some friends, this toxic environment keeps on happening until my work and business journey.
.
My partners betrayed me, they took all my resources, defamed me, blamed me, and took all the glory, I went to the dark side, I wanted revenge, but I knew that success is the best revenge and this cycle makes me feel exhausted, I am seeking for attention, this situation made me do anything to get people awareness after I got what I want then what? It took several days, weeks, months, and even years to heal me.
.
All of these experiences made me realize that I live in this world not alone, I should give value and pay it forward to my community, It feels like this neverending learning mindset is kinda a marathon for me, we help each other to the top to reach their best potential, and I need to adapt fast to my surrounding because I feel like I am already old, yet not wise and mature, I always dependent to my parents to decide my life because I have always made mistakes almost on every single option that I took on my life.

By growing old, I learned to do it step by step, with no need to rush, I always put short time goals, middle-term goals, and even long-term goals but I feel like I am a lucky guy, so many people are willing to help me to become my mentor on business, a counselor for my life, a guide for my career, coach for my thoughts, teacher for my knowledge, if you feel that you are going nowhere in your life, reach out to your nearest friends, they will always ready to help you to stay on track and progress, remember the best version of you will come soon.
