EUR/USD Falls to Two-Month Low
As shown on the EUR/USD chart today, the euro has dropped below 1.1550 against the US dollar — its lowest level since early August. The main driver of pressure on the single currency remains the political crisis in France:
President Emmanuel Macron is currently seeking a candidate for the position of prime minister. The situation is complicated by the fact that:
→ the government needs to quickly approve a rather tight budget reflecting the country’s significant deficit;
→ media reports highlight unrest in the streets;
→ financial market turbulence is intensifying amid uncertainty surrounding the ongoing US government shutdown.
Technical Analysis of the EUR/USD Chart
On 6 October, we noted that:
→ fluctuations in EUR/USD over recent months had formed an upward channel (shown in blue);
→ we highlighted a break below line S;
→ and suggested that a bearish break below 1.16600 would pave the way for a decline towards key support at 1.14500.
Indeed, following the break of 1.16600, the downtrend continued. How might the situation develop from here? To explore this, we extended the ascending channel and proposed a hypothesis that in mid-September, the price entered a supply zone (marked in purple) above the previous peak near 1.1790 and the psychological level of 1.1800. In other words, smart money appeared to be forming short positions, as described by the Liquidity Sweep pattern.
Since then, the market has been moving in search of liquidity on the opposite side. On the EUR/USD chart, we have identified a potential demand zone around key levels:
→ the lower boundary of the blue channel;
→ the 1.1530 level, where buyers’ stop-losses may be located;
→ and the mentioned support at 1.14500.
From a bearish perspective:
→ the market is moving within a descending channel (shown in red);
→ resistance may be provided by both its median line and the former local support at 1.1600.
In light of the above:
→ in the short term, the market remains bearish;
→ in the medium term, bearish pressure may ease, and EUR/USD could begin to consolidate.
Whether this scenario unfolds — and in what configuration — will largely depend on the news flow and political developments in both the US and France.

PepsiCo (PEP) Shares Jump Over 4% After Earnings Report — What’s Next?
Yesterday, PepsiCo Inc. (PEP) released its quarterly earnings report, which significantly exceeded expectations:
→ Earnings per share ($2.29) beat estimates of $2.26.
→ Gross revenue ($23.94 billion) also came in above forecasts of $23.94 billion.
According to The Wall Street Journal, PepsiCo will have a new Chief Financial Officer in a month — Steve Schmitt, a senior executive from Walmart. Analysts suggest that this leadership change could give the company a fresh boost, particularly as it continues to face challenges with sales growth, reflected in a months-long downtrend in its share price.
Technical Analysis of the PEP Chart
The PepsiCo share chart clearly highlights a disappointing trend, illustrated by the red descending channel.
However, there are signs that the situation could be shifting — and here’s why:
→ In May–June, the chart formed a relatively narrow range, which may reflect accumulation by large market participants who saw value in the stock at lower levels and began building long positions near a key psychological mark.
→ Between July and September, the share price rose from $130 to $150, suggesting a shift in market sentiment and indicating that institutional investors may have taken bullish positions.
While the long upper shadows above the $150 level reveal aggressive selling pressure, there are solid reasons for optimism:
→ PEP price movements suggest that the stock is attempting a bullish breakout above the upper boundary of the red descending channel;
→ as shown by the arrow, yesterday the price created a bear trap — dipping to a two-month low before rebounding sharply;
→ this could indicate that large players have shifted their control zone upwards, from $130 to $140.
If the bullish outlook proves correct, we could see price action developing within an upward channel (shown in blue), with the key resistance level for the bulls remaining near the psychological $150 mark.

Trump’s Decision Shakes Global Financial Markets
On Friday, 10 October, President Trump made an unexpected statement about the possible introduction of 100% tariffs on Chinese goods, triggering sharp price swings across global markets:
→ Stock markets: The S&P 500 index (US SPX 500 mini on FXOpen) tumbled by more than 3%, hitting its lowest level in over a month.
→ Currency markets: The US dollar slumped sharply against other major currencies.
→ Cryptocurrency markets: Bitcoin plunged from above $125k to below $110k, while other digital assets followed suit, leading to the largest long-position liquidation in history.
However, on Sunday, Donald Trump softened his tone on Truth Social, suggesting that trade relations with Beijing “will be absolutely fine”. Vice President JD Vance echoed this sentiment, adding that the United States is ready for talks if China is “prepared to act reasonably”.
This shift in rhetoric from US officials helped markets recover, with the S&P 500 index (US SPX 500 mini on FXOpen) rebounding sharply at Monday’s open, reclaiming much of Friday’s losses.
Technical Analysis of the S&P 500 Chart
In our previous analysis of the 4-hour S&P 500 chart (US SPX 500 mini on FXOpen) on 3 October, we identified an upward channel (shown in blue) and expressed several concerns:
→ The price was approaching the upper boundary of the channel, where long positions are often closed for profit.
→ The latest peak slightly exceeded the October high (A), suggesting a potential bearish divergence.
→ The news blackout caused by the government shutdown created an “information vacuum”, which could quickly turn sentiment negative if filled with adverse developments.
The lower boundary of the blue channel offered only temporary support near 6,644 points on Friday before the price broke downwards. Doubling the channel width provides a projected target near 6,500, which coincides with Friday’s low.
Given these factors, it can be assumed that the lower line of the blue channel now acts as the median of a broader range following Friday’s sell-off. This suggests that in the coming days, the S&P 500 index may stabilise as demand and supply find temporary balance along this line.
Looking further ahead, the situation may resemble that of early April, when after a panic-driven market drop (also triggered by Trump’s tariff comments), the S&P 500 not only fully recovered but went on to reach new highs.
Key Levels:
→ 6,705 – a level that has acted as both support and resistance this autumn;
→ 6,606 – the boundary of the bullish gap.

XTI/USD Chart Analysis: Oil Price Falls Below $60
Friday’s comments from President Trump about the potential introduction of 100% tariffs on trade with China pushed WTI crude oil below the $60 level for the first time in four months. The bearish sentiment stemmed from fears of a global economic slowdown amid escalating trade tensions between the world’s two largest economies.
The decline was further supported by news of peace efforts in the Middle East, which reduced the impact of geopolitical risk on oil prices.
As the XTI/USD chart shows, WTI is currently trading below $60. How might the situation unfold next?
Technical Analysis of the XTI/USD Chart
In the long-term view, oil price movements (following the flare-up in the Middle East in June) have formed a descending channel shown in red — notably, the current price has fallen below its lower boundary.
In the shorter term, we can observe an acceleration of the decline, emphasised by the purple trajectory lines.
These observations suggest that selling pressure remains dominant, while any recovery attempts are likely to meet resistance near:
→ the psychological level of $60;
→ the lower boundary of the red channel;
→ the purple median line.
Given that the White House is reportedly in favour of lower oil prices (as a means of stimulating the US economy and exerting pressure on geopolitical rivals), WTI crude could drift towards the year’s low around $55.
However, from the demand-side perspective, it cannot be ruled out that the oil market, known for its false breakouts above previous highs (A, B, C), may repeat a similar move above peak D — a pattern that, in Smart Money Concept terms, would represent a liquidity grab.

Silver Price Reaches Record High
The previous peak was set in 1980, but this week the price of silver rose above $53 for the first time ever, as shown on the XAG/USD chart.
Bullish sentiment has been driven by political factors, sustained demand from central banks, and the metal’s growing use in modern industries such as renewable energy.
Meanwhile, media reports are adding to the sense of market frenzy, noting:
→ shortages in physical supply;
→ forced liquidation of short positions (the “short squeeze” effect);
→ bold analyst forecasts — with a CNBC survey suggesting silver could double from current levels to reach $100.
Technical Analysis of the XAG/USD Chart
In earlier analysis of the XAG/USD chart, we:
→ identified an upward channel;
→ noted that silver’s rise was slowing around the $48.75 level, though new record highs in gold could spur the “silver bulls”.
That slowdown has proved to be merely a pause before a breakout to fresh 45-year highs. The ascending channel has maintained its slope but widened upward — notably, the current all-time high sits along the upper boundary of this expanded channel.
Key observations:
→ A sharp drop of more than 5% over the past two candles signals strong selling pressure, likely linked to profit-taking after a roughly 17% rise over the past 30 days.
→ Long lower wicks on the recent wide candles (as indicated by the arrow) show active buying interest.
→ The rise in the ATR indicator became evident as the market broke through the key psychological level of $50 per ounce.
The increase in volatility means traders may need to adjust their strategies — it can also signal that a market reversal could be nearing, as extreme price swings often mark the end of prolonged trends.
For now, however, demand remains strong enough to keep the market within its upward channel:
→ bulls are likely to view the $50–50.50 area as key support;
→ bears may look to reassert control if XAG/USD attempts to climb further above $53.

Broadcom (AVGO) Shares Surge Nearly 10% on OpenAI Partnership News
Last month, news of a partnership with OpenAI served as a powerful bullish catalyst for NVIDIA (NVDA) shares. In October, a similar effect can be seen on the Broadcom (AVGO) chart.
According to media reports, the two companies have been collaborating for 18 months but are now making their partnership public. Their plans for 2026 include launching chip racks developed by OpenAI and based on Broadcom technology.
The rally in AVGO shares was further supported by:
→ President Trump’s conciliatory tone following his earlier remarks about imposing 100% tariffs on Chinese goods;
→ the prospect of a meeting between the Chinese and US leaders in South Korea at the end of October, as announced by US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.
Technical Analysis of Broadcom (AVGO)
Price movements in mid-2025 formed an upward channel (shown in blue). A strong earnings report in September triggered:
→ a bullish gap at the beginning of the month;
→ an extension of the channel, with the historical high (B) sitting near its upper boundary.
From a bullish perspective:
→ the price remains within the channel, confirming its validity;
→ the pullback to October lows following the A→B impulse can be viewed as a standard correction consistent with classic Fibonacci ratios of 0.5–0.618;
→ yesterday’s rally may represent a breakout of a bullish flag (shown in red) and an attempt to resume the upward trend;
→ within this context, the $315–325 zone appears to be key support for the bulls, while the 10 October low (marked with an arrow) may prove to be a bear trap.
From a bearish perspective:
→ in pre-market trading today, AVGO shares are slightly lower, suggesting the initial reaction may have been overly emotional;
→ the psychological $350 level continues to act as resistance — previous attempts to break above it have failed to hold.
If yesterday’s rally fails to gain traction, it could indicate underlying weakness in AVGO shares, which were unable to capitalise on strong fundamentals to sustain the bullish trend seen earlier in 2025.

Gold Price Falls from Above $4,200
The XAU/USD chart shows that gold recently climbed above the $4,200 mark for the first time. The upward momentum has been supported by the ongoing US government shutdown, central bank demand (with reports highlighting a sharp rise in reserves at the Reserve Bank of India), and market focus on US–China trade developments.
According to Trading Economics, on Tuesday President Donald Trump accused China of “economically hostile” behaviour, citing a halt in soybean imports, and warned of potential retaliatory measures.
After an 8% gain since the start of October, the market appears overbought, as reflected by the RSI, creating vulnerability to a correction. Today’s sharp drop from record levels (highlighted by the red arrow) may be seen in this context, yet bullish positions remain solid for several reasons.
Analysing gold price action (highlighted with bold lines), we can identify a rising channel that has remained relevant since late September. Signs of strong demand include:
→ persistent moves towards the channel’s upper boundary;
→ a steeper growth channel forming since 10 October;
→ the local $4,155 level shifting from resistance to support.
It is also notable that previous bearish attempts failed — each short-term plunge was followed by a strong rebound. Today’s correction could similarly precede further gains in gold.
Key levels to watch:
→ Psychological resistance at $4,250;
→ Boundaries of the orange channel and the blue median line.
In summary, the gold market currently appears extremely bullish, and it would likely take extraordinary events to reverse this pronounced trend.

USD/CHF Falls to Two-Week Low
This morning, the USD/CHF exchange rate slipped below 0.7944 for the first time since 1 October, as demand for safe-haven assets intensified — a trend also reflected in yesterday’s record gold price above $4,200.
The traditionally stable Swiss franc is strengthening amid rising global uncertainty and risk aversion:
→ In Japan, the upcoming prime ministerial election could significantly impact monetary policy, while France faces ongoing political turmoil.
→ In the United States, the government shutdown continues, and traders are closely watching developments around a potential trade deal with China, possibly to be discussed during an expected meeting between the two countries’ leaders.
Technical Analysis of the USD/CHF Chart
As noted in our 25 September analysis, the Swiss franc has appreciated through 2025 amid elevated geopolitical and macroeconomic risks, forming a downward channel on the USD/CHF chart (shown in red).
We also highlighted:
→ the possibility of a trend reversal around the 0.7900 support area;
→ potential breakout targets (shown in blue).
Since then, the bulls have indeed made progress, driving the price up towards point A and:
→ breaking above the red channel’s upper boundary;
→ overcoming the psychological 0.8000 level.
However, that progress has not been sustained. Among the bearish signals:
→ the median line of the blue channel acted as resistance;
→ the brief move above local highs around 0.8072 resembles a bearish liquidity grab.
From the bullish perspective, USD/CHF has now retreated into a zone that could act as support:
→ the upper boundary of the red channel;
→ the lower boundary of the blue channel.
The arrow highlights signs of a bullish engulfing pattern, suggesting that buyers may be using these support zones to stage a rebound within the blue channel. The 0.8000 psychological mark could serve as the first key test of their resolve.

Earnings Season Kicks Off with Strong Bank Results
On 3 October, we noted growing optimism in equity markets ahead of the corporate earnings season. That sentiment was validated yesterday as several major banks reported results that exceeded analysts’ expectations, helping the S&P 500 index (US SPX 500 mini on FXOpen) rebound from last Friday’s sell-off.
Morgan Stanley (MS) led the rally, with its shares hitting a new all-time high above $166 following a robust quarterly report:
→ Revenue surged to a record $18.2 billion, up 18% year-on-year.
→ Earnings per share (EPS): actual $2.80, vs forecast $2.10.
Technical Analysis of Morgan Stanley (MS)
Price action in MS shares allows for the construction of an upward channel (shown in blue) that has been forming since the summer.
→ Yesterday, a wide bullish gap appeared on the chart.
→ The price advanced into the upper half of the channel, breaking above the $160 psychological level.
From a bullish perspective:
→ The breakout from a bullish flag pattern supports the scenario of a resumed uptrend within the channel.
→ The channel median, reinforced by the $160 support, could serve as a key level going forward.
However, there are several bearish signals to note:
→ Intraday price swings formed a wide up-and-down movement, resembling a bearish engulfing pattern that could develop further in today’s session.
→ The brief and shallow breakout above the previous high suggests a bull trap.
The RSI indicator also shows signs of bearish divergence, implying that:
→ The recent surge in MS shares may have prompted some long holders to lock in profits near record highs.
→ Despite strong fundamentals supporting long-term growth, the stock could be vulnerable to a short-term correction, potentially towards the bullish gap area.

EUR/CAD Hits 16-Year High
Charts show that the euro strengthened against the Canadian dollar on Thursday, with the pair climbing above 1.6460 for the first time since spring 2009, when the world was still reeling from the global financial crisis.
The current weakness of the Canadian dollar is being influenced by several factors:
→ Trade relations with the United States – according to media reports, some Canadian industries such as steel and automotive manufacturing are facing competitive disadvantages under the current agreement.
→ Oil prices have fallen to a five-month low, partly due to expectations surrounding a potential meeting between the US and Russian presidents. As we noted on 13 October, the XTI/USD exchange rate could drift towards $55 per barrel.
Meanwhile, the euro has benefited from the softening of the US dollar. Notably, the DXY index has turned lower from a key resistance level — the upper boundary of the channel identified in our 9 October analysis.
However, an examination of the EUR/CAD chart suggests that the current upward momentum may be losing steam.
Technical Analysis of the EUR/CAD Chart
Price movements — with key turning points shown in bold — outline a rising channel that has remained relevant since August.
The bearish case rests on the following factors:
→ The pair has reached the upper boundary of the channel, which has repeatedly acted as strong resistance and may do so again.
→ The sharp mid-October rally pushed the RSI indicator into extreme overbought territory.
On the other hand, price action continues to reflect strong demand, as seen in the clean breakout above the previous peak near 1.6400, which occurred on a wide bullish candle with minimal pullback.
In these conditions, it is reasonable to assume that:
→ After a 1.6% rise in seven days, some long holders may start taking profits, leading to consolidation near the upper boundary of the channel;
→ If a correction from the upper channel line develops, it is likely to be shallow, as bullish activity could re-emerge around the median line, reinforced by the former resistance at 1.6400.

Coinbase (COIN) Shares Fall for Fifth Consecutive Day
As shown on the Coinbase Global (COIN) chart, the company’s share price has dropped below $330, marking a 17% decline from this month’s high.
Bearish sentiment took hold last Friday after Donald Trump floated the idea of imposing 100% tariffs on Chinese goods:
→ Since then, the cryptocurrency market has struggled to find support.
→ Today, BTC/USD fell below $106,000 for the first time since early July.
COIN shares look set to extend their sequence of five consecutive bearish daily candles, as broader equity markets remain under pressure amid reports of losses at several regional US banks — a situation that some analysts are already comparing to the Silicon Valley Bank collapse in 2023.
The Coinbase (COIN) price chart provides further important insight.
Technical Analysis of the COIN Chart
From a broader perspective, COIN’s price movements have formed a wide upward channel, with:
→ The upper boundary acting as resistance in July;
→ The median line providing support through August and September.
Recent price behaviour around key psychological levels is also worth noting:
→ $400 – the price reversed from just above this round number in October, forming what appears to be a bear trap or liquidity grab pattern.
→ $350 – served as resistance in September and may now regain that role following the sharp reversal from $400.
→ $300 – reinforced the channel’s median as a significant area of support.
Given these factors, it can be assumed that bears remain in control of the market. If this imbalance persists, COIN’s share price may:
→ In the near term, fall back to the median line, and
→ Potentially retest the summer lows around the $290 level.

S&P 500 Index Shows Elevated Volatility
On the 4-hour chart of the S&P 500 Index (US SPX 500 mini on FXOpen), the ATR indicator with standard settings has not fallen below the 30 mark, signalling higher current market volatility compared to previous periods. Traders’ decisions are being influenced by the ongoing government shutdown, developments around a potential US-China tariff deal, and an increasingly active earnings season. Market sentiment has also been shaped by renewed concerns over regional bank stability and profit-taking in AI-related stocks.
Looking ahead, the new week is also expected to bring heightened volatility, as:
→ US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng are set to meet in the coming days, paving the way for a potential meeting between Presidents Trump and Xi later this month.
→ Attention will also turn to quarterly results from Netflix, Coca-Cola, Tesla, IBM, and Intel. With key US economic data releases suspended due to the government shutdown, investors are likely to look to corporate earnings for direction.
Technical Analysis of the S&P 500 Chart
Major turning points on the 4-hour S&P 500 (US SPX 500 mini on FXOpen) chart, highlighted in bold, outline a broad ascending channel that reflects the market’s expanded price swings.
From a bullish perspective:
→ The price remains in the upper half of the channel.
→ Market sentiment is improving, with prices moving closer to last week’s highs during the European session.
→ As indicated by the arrow, a wide bullish engulfing pattern formed near the lower boundary of the channel, confirming strong buying interest around the 6,560 level.
From a bearish standpoint:
→ Selling pressure was particularly aggressive near 6,720, pushing the price lower on 10 October.
→ Last week, this level once again acted as resistance, suggesting that bears maintain control there, limiting near-term upside potential.
Given these dynamics, traders may wish to adjust their strategies to account for the prevailing volatility. Should positive headlines emerge on US-China trade progress, supported by upbeat corporate forecasts, the S&P 500 (US SPX 500 mini on FXOpen) could make a push towards the upper channel boundary, potentially setting a new record near the 6,800 mark.

XTI/USD Chart Analysis: Oil Prices Fall to Yearly Lows
As shown on the XTI/USD chart, WTI crude is trading below $57 today, with the 2025 low sitting near $55. Several factors are currently weighing on oil prices:
→ Uncertainty surrounding the US-China trade deal — the world’s two largest oil consumers — continues to cloud the outlook for global growth and crude demand.
→ Increased output from OPEC+ members has added further pressure, with the IEA last week raising its forecast for a global oil surplus.
→ A decline in the risk premium following the peace agreement in the Middle East has also reduced support for oil prices.
So, what could happen next?
Technical Analysis of the XTI/USD Chart
Seven days ago, we noted that:
→ In the long-term context, oil price fluctuations — following the June escalation in the Middle East — have formed a downward channel (shown in red). The current price has now slipped below its lower boundary.
→ In the short term, the pace of the decline appears to be accelerating, highlighted by the purple trajectory lines.
At that time, we suggested a scenario in which WTI could drift towards its yearly low near $55, which is now materialising. However, note the following:
→ The RSI indicator is hovering near oversold territory.
→ The chart shows signs of a Falling Wedge pattern, which often precedes a bullish reversal.
Given these signals, it is reasonable to assume that, after a roughly 10% decline since the start of the month, bears may begin locking in profits on short positions. This could trigger a technical rebound in WTI prices — potentially towards the resistance area defined by:
→ The lower boundary of the red channel;
→ The psychological level of $60;
→ The median line of the purple channel.

Apple (AAPL) Shares Hit an All-Time High
On 26 September, we noted that Apple (AAPL) shares were nearing a record peak. Less than a month later, that forecast has materialised: according to the chart, AAPL surged more than 4% yesterday, surpassing its December 2024 high. This marks:
→ a new all-time record;
→ a return to second place by market capitalisation (Apple has overtaken Microsoft, while Nvidia remains in first position).
Why Are Apple Shares Rising?
→ Strong sales figures. Counterpoint Research reported that sales of the new iPhone 17 series in the US and China during the first ten days were 14% higher than those of the iPhone 16 last year. Analysts note that the base model offers significant improvements at the same price, encouraging consumers to upgrade.
→ Analyst forecasts. Loop Capital not only raised its rating to Buy (with a target price of $315) but also declared the start of a “long-awaited upgrade cycle”. In their view, this is not a short-term surge but the beginning of sustained growth in shipments expected to continue until 2027.
Optimism is also fuelled by anticipation of Apple’s upcoming earnings report and the festive shopping season, which could further accelerate iPhone 17 sales.
Technical Analysis of Apple (AAPL) Shares
Price movements in 2025 have formed a broad upward channel (shown in blue). Within this structure:
→ the channel’s median line acted as support in mid-October;
→ yesterday’s rally lifted the price into the upper quarter of the channel.
From a demand perspective:
→ Trading opened with a bullish gap (see arrow), and the price jumped rapidly in the first minutes — evidence of strong buying interest.
→ The psychological level of $250 is losing its role as resistance and may become future support.
→ The price remains within a steep rising channel (marked in orange).
From a supply perspective:
→ The RSI indicator shows overbought conditions;
→ Some investors may take profits at the new record high.
Taking these factors into account, once the current bullish momentum cools, AAPL could see a short-term pullback — potentially towards the area of the bullish gap or one of the orange trendlines (solid or dotted).

This marks:
→ a new all-time record;
→ a return to second place by market capitalisation (Apple has overtaken Microsoft, while Nvidia remains in first position).

USD/JPY Analysis: Yen May Stabilise Following Prime Minister’s Election
According to media reports, conservative politician Sanae Takaichi has been elected Japan’s first female Prime Minister. As we noted on 7 October, she is a supporter of former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s Abenomics strategy, aimed at stimulating the economy through aggressive fiscal spending and ultra-loose monetary policy — a factor that fuelled the sharp A→B rally to an eight-month high.
Meanwhile, the most likely candidate for the position of Finance Minister is Satsuki Katayama, a former Minister for Regional Revitalisation, who has previously expressed support for a stronger yen.
Fluctuations on the USD/JPY chart reflect the uncertainty traders currently face as they attempt to gauge the future direction of the Bank of Japan’s monetary policy.
Technical Analysis of the USD/JPY Chart
The yen’s sharp weakening, which began on 6 October, led to:
→ the formation of a bullish gap around the 147.5–149 area;
→ an expansion of the previously established R1–S channel to R2–S.
After reversing from the R2 resistance level, the pair fell back towards the R1 line, which now acts as the channel’s median — a zone where supply and demand tend to balance. This supports the view that USD/JPY could stabilise in the near term.
From a bullish perspective:
→ The key 149–150 area (highlighted in purple) has shifted from resistance to support (as shown by the blue arrows).
From a bearish perspective:
→ Price action between 15 and 21 October indicates that sellers remain in control near the 151.7 level.
In this context, reduced volatility and consolidation of USD/JPY around the ¥151 per dollar level appear to be the most likely scenario — though this could change abruptly in response to major political announcements regarding the new cabinet or the Bank of Japan’s policy stance.

General Motors (GM) Shares Hit All-Time High
As shown on the General Motors (GM) stock chart:
→ During yesterday’s intraday session, the share price climbed above $67.40, surpassing the previous record high set in January 2022.
→ GM was among the top performers on the stock market, rising by around 15%.
The sharp rally followed the company’s strong third-quarter results:
→ Revenue: $48.6 billion (versus analysts’ forecast of $45.0 billion).
→ Earnings per share: $2.80 (consensus forecast: $2.28).
→ Vehicle sales: 710,000 units in Q3, up 8% year-on-year.
Moreover, General Motors Co. delivered an upbeat outlook, stating that continued business optimisation and its decision to scale back electric vehicle production should help improve financial performance in the year ahead.
Technical Analysis of GM Stock
Since 2024, price fluctuations have shaped a rising channel (shown in blue), with the current price moving into its upper half. The rally from the 2025 lows has formed a steeper upward trajectory (solid orange lines), highlighting strong buying momentum.
Further bullish signals include:
→ A decisive bullish gap through the $60 psychological level, which also corresponds to the 2024 peak.
→ The pullback (marked by the blue arrow) occurred on declining trading volumes on the NYSE, suggesting a shortage of selling pressure.
→ The reversal from the $55 level resembles a bear trap, potentially signalling accumulation by institutional investors (see also the Liquidity Grab pattern).
On the other hand, the rapid advance has led to:
→ The RSI indicator entering overbought territory.
→ The price moving above the upper solid orange line.
This leaves GM shares vulnerable to a short-term correction.
However, sustained optimism driven by strong fundamentals could maintain bullish momentum, potentially pushing the price higher towards the following resistance area:
→ The $70 psychological level;
→ The upper boundary of the blue channel;
→ The dashed orange trendline.

What’s Happening with Beyond Meat (BYND) Shares
Beyond Meat (BYND) shares have been experiencing extreme volatility today, with price swings measured in hundreds of per cent — turning the stock into a textbook example of a meme asset. Here’s a brief overview of the situation.
Drop Below $0.50
Throughout 2025 (and in the preceding years), the share price of the plant-based meat producer had been locked in a long-term downtrend, reflecting its financial difficulties.
Facing a substantial debt load due for repayment in 2027, Beyond Meat restructured its liabilities — extending maturity to 2030 at a higher interest rate in exchange for issuing more than 316 million new shares. This dilution of shareholder equity was viewed as a deeply negative signal.
The market reacted instantly: BYND plunged to point A, falling below $0.50 per share (a striking contrast to its peak above $200 less than five years ago). The steep drop also attracted a surge of new short sellers.
Spike Above $7
Spotting the low price and the high short interest (around 10.5% of total shares), retail traders began coordinating mass purchases through social media platforms. The result was a classic short squeeze, as forced short-covering combined with speculative buying propelled BYND above $7 per share (point B).
What’s Next?
Despite the spectacular rebound from point A to point B, the company’s fundamentals remain weak. Beyond Meat’s upcoming earnings report (scheduled for 4 November) may continue the trend of falling revenue — as seen in Q2 2025, when sales dropped by nearly 20% year-on-year.
The company is still loss-making, and high-profile partnerships — such as McPlant with McDonald’s — have yet to deliver meaningful results.
In the short term, market hype could push BYND towards the $10 psychological level, but it’s unlikely to change the broader picture. The company’s long-term outlook remains overshadowed by deteriorating financials.

XTI/USD Chart Analysis: Oil Prices Rise Following Trump’s Sanctions Decision
According to the XTI/USD chart, WTI crude is now trading above the key psychological level of $60, marking a sharp rebound of over 3% from October’s lows.
The surge came after U.S. President Donald Trump announced sanctions against major Russian oil producers Rosneft and Lukoil, which together account for more than 5 million barrels of oil per day.
The move is expected to reduce global oil supply; however, media outlets point out that:
→ there is no certainty that China and India will refrain from purchasing Russian crude;
→ previous sanctions introduced under the Biden administration — targeting companies such as Gazprom Neft and Surgutneftegaz — had little impact on Russian oil exports.
What could happen next?
Technical Analysis of the XTI/USD Chart
On 20 October, we noted that two descending channels had formed:
→ Red channel – a long-term pattern that developed following the Middle East escalation in June;
→ Purple channel – indicating accelerated downside pressure driven by rising OPEC+ output and hopes for a U.S.–China trade accord.
Our earlier assumption that the market was oversold and that the Falling Wedge pattern might trigger a bullish reversal proved correct (as shown by the arrow). Following the formation of an inverted head and shoulders pattern, oil prices climbed towards the median line of the purple channel.
At this stage, consolidation appears the most likely scenario, as supply and demand may stabilise around the channel’s median. Much will depend on statements from the White House, since higher oil prices could threaten U.S. inflation objectives.
However, if bullish momentum persists, WTI may continue to rise towards the next resistance area, defined by:
→ the upper boundary of the purple channel;
→ the 8–9 October highs, where a false breakout similar to the bear trap seen on 26 September cannot be ruled out.

Netflix (NFLX) Shares See a Sharp Decline
According to recent charts, Netflix (NFLX) shares have traded below $1,100 this week — for the first time since late May. The stock has fallen more than 17% from its July peak, while the S&P 500 index (US SPX 500 mini on FXOpen) remains close to record highs.
Why Has Netflix (NFLX) Fallen?
The main catalyst for the drop was the company’s earnings report, which showed results well below expectations: actual EPS came in at $5.87 versus a forecast of $6.96 and a previous reading of $7.19.
Despite the success of several new releases, the figures were weighed down by a tax dispute in Brazil, which significantly dampened market sentiment. Nevertheless, the bulls still have reasons for cautious optimism.
Technical Analysis of the NFLX Chart
The NFLX share price remains within a long-term upward channel (marked in blue). It has now approached a key support zone formed by:
→ the lower boundary of the main channel, which previously provided support in April;
→ the lower line of a short-term downward trajectory (marked in red);
→ the psychological level of $1,100.
Bulls are taking encouragement from the fact that:
→ the RSI indicator has entered oversold territory;
→ the price previously moved confidently through the $1,000–$1,100 range, suggesting that strong buying interest may still persist in this area.
From the sellers’ perspective, however, attention should be paid to the large bearish gap formed earlier this week, with its lower edge near $1,100, which could now act as resistance.
Taking all this into account, it seems reasonable to assume that:
→ the current support zone may prevent further declines in NFLX shares;
→ the impact of the Brazilian tax case (reported losses of around $600 million) may already be priced in;
→ bulls could attempt to resume the broader uptrend, potentially turning the red trajectory into a bullish flag pattern.
On the other hand, failure to hold within the blue channel would expose the $1,000 level to another test.
