Gold Price Balanced Amid Heightened Uncertainty
As the XAU/USD chart shows, last week gold prices fell sharply, interrupting the previous upward trend. This decline was driven by two main factors:
→ End of the US government shutdown. This is believed to have reduced short-term economic risks and lessened demand for gold as a “safe-haven” asset.
→ Hawkish statements from Federal Reserve officials, which lowered market expectations for rate cuts. This pushed up US Treasury yields, traditionally putting downward pressure on non-yielding assets like gold.
This week, the market is awaiting a wave of delayed US economic reports that were postponed during the shutdown, including:
→ Labour market data (Non-Farm Payrolls)
→ Inflation data (CPI)
These releases are expected to give traders greater clarity on the future trajectory of Fed interest rates.
Technical Analysis of XAU/USD
From a technical perspective, the price is currently trading at the intersection of two key lines:
→ Resistance line from the upper boundary of the descending channel originating at the all-time high. Buyers attempted to break through this level last week but were unsuccessful.
→ Support line from the lower boundary of the ascending channel, in place since early autumn.
Given the above, it is reasonable to suggest that:
→ the market is in a balanced position, with traders adopting a wait-and-see approach;
→ a breakout from the symmetrical triangle could indicate the direction of the next significant move in gold prices.

XAU/USD Chart Analysis: Market Volatility Eases (Again)
As the daily XAU/USD chart shows today, the ADX indicator is trending downwards following the extremely turbulent swings in October. This suggests:
→ gold price volatility is decreasing;
→ the market is finding balance around the psychological $4,000 level;
→ it recalls mid-July, when we noted a period of reduced volatility.
At that time, we:
→ drew an ascending channel;
→ observed that supply and demand were balancing each other, effectively reflecting all factors influencing the price.
Looking back, it can be noted that the market was in a consolidation phase (A) before the rally resumed (B) with renewed strength, as the price broke through the R1 resistance of the consolidation pattern.
It is reasonable to suggest a similar scenario may be occurring now, with the market in a new consolidation phase (C), and price fluctuations around the psychological $4,000 level reflecting new factors, including:
→ Anticipation of Fed action: Traders are hesitant to push prices to new highs ($4,400) without assurances of further monetary easing, yet are reluctant to sell below $3,900, as the global rate-cut cycle is not yet complete.
→ Dollar strength (DXY) at the end of October – early November.
→ Stabilisation of the geopolitical backdrop.
According to analysts from JPMorgan, Goldman Sachs, and independent experts, gold may remain within a range of $3,950 – $4,150 until the end of 2025.
By analogy with the previous situation, we can expect R2 to hold, with bulls “taking a break” while gold drifts towards the lower boundary of the current channel.

Eli Lilly (LLY) Shares Have Surged by Around 30% in November
The price action of Eli Lilly and Company (LLY), the world’s largest pharmaceutical firm, reflects exceptionally strong demand:
→ since the start of the month, LLY shares have risen by roughly 30%;
→ in late November, the company’s market capitalisation exceeded $1 trillion, making Eli Lilly the first pharmaceutical firm in history to reach this level.
Why are Eli Lilly (LLY) Shares Rising?
A key driver has been the strong earnings report published on 30 October.
→ Earnings per share came in far above expectations ($7.02 versus $5.69).
→ Sales of diabetes treatment Mounjaro and obesity drug Zepbound surpassed $10 billion for the quarter.
→ On the back of this success, management raised its revenue outlook, and market participants now expect an even stronger fourth quarter.
At the same time, the chart is signalling that the extraordinary rally may be running out of steam.
Technical Analysis of Eli Lilly (LLY) Shares
For more than a year, LLY’s price action followed a downward channel. If this channel is extended upward twofold after the bullish breakout (which occurred following the earnings release), we can see that the price has reached the upper boundary of the expanded channel — a level often viewed as a potential target for buyers.
Note that after breaking above the psychological $1,000 level, the rally initially slowed (1), but then accelerated sharply this week (2) — a possible sign of FOMO and the climax of the November uptrend.
Additionally → the RSI indicator is deep in overbought territory and is pointing lower.
Given these factors, it is reasonable to assume that LLY shares are vulnerable to a pullback, which could intensify if investors begin taking profits on long positions.

The Canadian Dollar Strengthened Sharply After Unexpected GDP Data
Statistics Canada reported on Friday that real GDP grew by 2.6% year-on-year in the third quarter of 2025, which means:
→ a significant beat compared with analysts’ expectations of just 0.5% year-on-year growth;
→ Canada avoided a technical recession (two consecutive quarters of contraction) following a 1.8% decline in the previous quarter.
The release triggered a strong rally in the Canadian dollar, as markets may have concluded that the Bank of Canada has less need to support the economy with additional liquidity, making the loonie more attractive to hold.
On the other hand, the unexpected GDP rise may partly be a statistical artefact linked to calculation methodology and the impact of tariffs introduced into global trade by the Trump administration. It is possible that GDP grew due to falling imports — meaning that even with strong headline numbers, the underlying economy may remain fragile.
Technical Analysis of USD/CAD
On Friday, the USD/CAD rate fell to its lowest level in a month.
The price then rebounded (as shown by the arrow) from the lower boundary of the channel that has been in place for most of the autumn. This bounce not only confirmed the relevance of the channel but also highlighted strong buying interest around 1.3940.
But should the bulls feel confident?
Note that:
→ throughout November, the price repeatedly slipped below 1.4000 — and each time failed to consolidate beneath this psychological level;
→ Friday’s bearish breakout looked exceptionally strong, with wide bearish candles closing near their lows, signalling clear dominance by sellers;
→ the 50% retracement of the A→B impulse sits near 1.4000.
Given these factors, it is entirely possible that 1.4000 will act as resistance in the short term, and that bears will attempt to resume the downward trend in USD/CAD.

Gold Price Analysis: Market Awaits Key Updates
The ADX indicator on the 4-hour XAU/USD chart has dropped to a multi-month low, signalling the absence of a clear trend.
At the same time, a technical assessment of price movements allows for the construction of a symmetrical triangle pattern with a central axis around $4,205 — indicating that the current price reflects an equal balance of major drivers, including:
→ Weakening conditions in the US labour market. According to media reports, ADP recorded an unexpected decline of 32,000 private-sector jobs, while Challenger reported 71,000 layoffs in November, bringing the total number of job cuts since the start of the year close to 1.17 million.
→ Rumours that White House economic adviser Kevin Hassett may replace Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell in May — a development that has strengthened expectations of more aggressive policy easing in 2026.
It is worth noting that on 1 December, gold briefly rose above the November high — a move that coincided with silver reaching an all-time record (as suggested in our analysis on 27 November). However, the bulls failed to hold the price above $4,245, indicating a lack of sufficient buying interest. It appears that traders require stronger justification to purchase gold at such elevated levels.
Most likely, market participants have adopted a wait-and-see stance ahead of key releases:
→ Personal Consumption Expenditure (PCE) data for September, whose publication was delayed by the shutdown;
→ Next week’s FOMC decision (10 December).
Although the market currently appears balanced, XAU/USD may be functioning like a “compressed spring”. Be prepared for bursts of volatility.

S&P 500 Index: Chart Analysis Ahead of Fed News
On 2 December, we noted that the final month of the year is traditionally favourable for the S&P 500 index (US SPX 500 mini on FXOpen), as:
→ since around the 1950s, December has been positive in more than 70% of cases;
→ the average monthly gain is approximately +1.0%.
Today, with traders worldwide focused on the Federal Reserve’s interest rate decision and Chair Powell’s subsequent press conference, there is reason to highlight another statistic. According to media reports, in 20 out of 20 instances when equity markets were near record highs and the Fed cut rates, the S&P 500 rose over the following 12 months.
Given the current backdrop — proximity to all-time highs and expectations of rate cuts — it is possible that this could become the 21st such case.
An analysis of price action on the 4-hour chart of the S&P 500 (US SPX 500 mini on FXOpen) suggests that the stock market is reflecting nervous anticipation of the news, as the index is trading at roughly the same levels as at the start of December.
Technical Analysis of the S&P 500 Chart
From the demand side:
→ the price has managed to hold firmly above the 6785 level (which may act as support going forward) and has broken above a previously formed descending channel (shown in red);
→ an ascending channel formed in early December, which can be interpreted as cautious optimism ahead of the news.
From the supply side:
→ the late-October record high may act as psychological resistance;
→ yesterday’s decline (indicated by the arrow) suggests that bears are ready to act more aggressively if given a catalyst.
Overall, taking the above into account, it is reasonable to suggest that the S&P 500 market (US SPX 500 mini on FXOpen) is in a “calm before the storm” phase. Be prepared for volatility spikes later today, starting from 22:00 GMT+3.

Tesla (TSLA) Shares Close at a Record High
On Tuesday, 16 December 2025, Tesla shares closed at a new all-time high, breaking above the $488 level.
As a result, TSLA:
→ surpassed its December 2024 peak;
→ is up by roughly 125% from this year’s lows;
→ made Elon Musk the first person in the world whose net worth has exceeded $600 billion.
Why are TSLA shares rising?
Elon Musk has officially confirmed that Tesla has begun testing driverless robotaxis in Austin, Texas, without safety monitors in the vehicle. This marks an important step towards the large-scale deployment of the Robotaxi concept.
Despite a decline in electric vehicle sales in November (following the removal of tax incentives by the new US administration), TSLA shares continue to rise as market participants are pricing in Tesla’s potential dominance in artificial intelligence and autonomous transport — a development that could unlock fundamentally new revenue streams for the company.
Supporting this outlook, several investment banks have raised their price targets for TSLA. For instance, Mizuho analysts lifted their target to $530.
Technical perspective
When analysing TSLA on 12 November, we:
→ identified an ascending channel and a support zone between $360 and $400;
→ suggested that the previous high was limiting bullish momentum, with the market entering a consolidation phase.
Since then (as shown by the blue arrow), TSLA shares:
→ broke out of the consolidation zone;
→ found support near the lower boundary of the ascending channel;
→ resumed their upward trend.
It is worth noting that trading volumes in early December were relatively low — which can be interpreted as a lack of selling pressure. However, the subsequent move into the upper half of the channel was accompanied by a surge in trading activity and the formation of a bullish gap (marked by the black arrow). This signals strong demand, with buyers willing to pay higher prices for a high-quality stock.
Looking ahead, it is possible that:
→ the former resistance at $465 will turn into a new support zone;
→ the current bullish impulse could drive attempts to challenge the psychological $500 level.

S&P 500 Shows Indecision Near All-Time High
As the S&P 500 chart (US SPX 500 mini on FXOpen) shows, this morning the price approached yesterday’s high at A, but then sharply reversed downward (indicated by the arrow), forming a lower low at B.
This resembles a Double Top pattern, which can be interpreted as market indecision near the all-time high. Traders are weighing risks and opportunities that depend on US actions in Venezuela:
🔺Bullish factor: access to the country’s resources could act as a growth driver for the US economy. Yesterday, financials and energy sectors were the strongest performers.
🔻Bearish factor: related to geopolitical risks and the potential involvement of the US in a protracted conflict.
E-mini S&P 500 Technical Analysis
On 29 December, we noted the indecision of bulls around the 6934 level, as the price showed no signs of firmly holding the record highs. We also considered a scenario in which the S&P 500 (US SPX 500 mini on FXOpen) might decline.
Since then, the trend has largely been bearish, and a descending channel can be drawn, with:
▪️The median (dashed line) passing through lower highs.
▪️Yesterday’s move into the upper half of the channel appearing aggressive, given the sharp surge from 6888.
This level may act as support for bulls on their way toward the upper boundary of the channel.
On the other hand, a bearish break of the 6888 level:
▪️ would provide an additional signal of demand indecision;
▪️ would reinforce the descending channel’s relevance as a market reference.

▪️ would provide an additional signal of demand indecision;
▪️ would reinforce the descending channel’s relevance as a market reference.

WTI Oil Price Rises Above $60
As the XTI/USD chart shows, the price of a barrel climbed above $60 this week, reaching a one-month high.
The main bullish driver has been large-scale anti-government protests in Iran, which could lead to a change of power and/or military action. Trump has voiced support for the protesters and threatened 25% tariffs on all countries trading with Iran. Market participants fear that Iranian oil supplies (around 1.5–2 mb/d) could simply disappear, or that the Strait of Hormuz could be closed.
Technical Analysis of the XTI/USD Chart
On 5 January, we:
→ used WTI price fluctuations to draw a descending channel (shown in red);
→ highlighted the long lower wicks formed when the price touched the lower boundary of the channel as evidence of strong demand (and a bear trap);
→ outlined a scenario involving a bullish impulse.
Indeed, since then the oil price has moved higher, with:
→ the upper boundary of the descending channel being broken, while the breakout level (around $58.35) subsequently acting as support (shown by the arrow);
→ fresh data providing grounds for plotting an upward trajectory.
After an attempted rise yesterday, downward momentum can be observed this morning (shown by the arrow). Given the rapid pace of WTI’s advance (around 2.7% since the start of the week), it is technically reasonable to assume that the market is vulnerable to a correction. The situation suggests that bulls may lack the strength to keep the price above the psychological $60 level. The market may also be sceptical that Trump will allow oil to remain this expensive (the President has said he wants a $53 barrel).
However, if geopolitical tensions in Iran (and other regions) intensify further, this could drive WTI prices even higher.

Dollar Index (DXY) Falls More Than 0.9% Since the Start of the Week
News surrounding Greenland is the main driver of financial markets today. As a result, we are seeing the implementation of the “Sell America” strategy: the share prices of US companies are falling, and the dollar is losing value against other currencies.
The risks of trade wars, NATO fragmentation, and a potential recession are causing the USD to lose its status as a “safe haven”, with capital flowing into alternative assets (confirming today’s rise in the price of gold to $4,700).
As a result, the dollar index is showing accelerating downward momentum today, having fallen to the 98.500 level.
Technical Analysis of the DXY Chart
On 12 January, analysing the dollar index (DXY) chart, we:
→ updated the descending channel (marked in red);
→ noted that its upper boundary showed signs of strong resistance.
At that time, we considered a scenario of an intermediate upward correction within the prevailing downward trend and suggested that this upward trajectory could eventually be broken by the bears.
Since then:
→ the price continued to fluctuate within the upward trajectory (shown by the blue channel);
→ but it was unable to hold above the upper red line.
Thus, today’s decline fully confirms the earlier assumption (completion of the intermediate recovery and a return of DXY values to the framework of the dominant downward trend), with:
→ the 98.79–99.02 zone (where supply strength had effectively broken support lines) potentially acting as resistance in the future;
→ an ambitious target for the current bearish pressure being the median of the descending channel.

Meta Platforms (META) Shares Rise Above $700 After Earnings Release
Yesterday, Meta Platforms published its fourth-quarter 2025 earnings report, which made a strong impression. In after-hours trading, META shares surged by more than 10% at one point, reaching around $740.
Why META Shares Are Rising
The company not only met analysts’ expectations but significantly exceeded them:
→ Earnings per share (EPS): actual $8.88 (expected $8.19–8.21), up 11% year-on-year.
→ Revenue: actual $59.9bn (forecast around $58.35bn).
In addition, the media highlighted several positive factors:
→ A strong outlook for 2026.
→ A high operating margin of around 41%, demonstrating strong business efficiency despite substantial spending.
→ Continued growth in advertising services: the company has integrated AI into ad delivery, with growth seen both in ad pricing (+6%) and the number of impressions (+18%).
A particularly important development was Mark Zuckerberg’s statement that the Reality Labs division is expected to pass its peak loss this year. This reassured investors concerned about prolonged cash burn related to capital expenditure.
Technical Analysis of the META Chart
On higher timeframes, the price remains in an uptrend. In January, the lower boundary of the long-term channel once again acted as support (indicated by the arrow).
In pre-market trading, META is quoted around $715–720. If the main session opens in this area, two observations appear especially important:
1 → The price is breaking upwards out of a descending channel (shown in red), which can be interpreted as an intermediate correction — a classic bull flag — within the broader prevailing uptrend.
2 → The price is moving above a key area that includes the psychological $700 level, which has acted as both support and resistance since July 2025. This zone may now provide a base for bulls in their attempt to move towards the median of the long-term channel.

#XAUUSD #goldprice #commodities #marketanalysis #MarketUpdates
Gold Prices Recover After a Catastrophic Sell-Off
Yesterday, while analysing the silver price chart, we described a fundamental shift in supply and demand dynamics that likely became the key driver behind the sharp decline in prices.
This same reasoning can likely be applied to the gold market, which experienced a synchronous and dramatic sell-off. From the A peak on 29 January near $5,570, the gold price (XAU/USD) collapsed to the B low on 2 February below $4,420 — a drop of around 20%:
→ “Smart money” locked in profits on long positions and switched to selling at market;
→ retail speculators were forced to close long positions at a loss, while the liquidation of previously leveraged trades accelerated the cascading decline.
On 26 January, when analysing gold price movements, we:
→ highlighted that the market was extremely overbought;
→ noted, however, that abandoning bullish expectations prematurely would be inappropriate without a major catalyst.
It now appears that the A→B collapse may have been precisely such an event.
Technical Analysis of the XAU/USD Chart
The previously identified channel was extended upwards by the abnormal surge in XAU/USD prices. Within this structure:
→ the A peak formed in overbought territory above the upper boundary of the channel;
→ the B low developed in oversold territory below its lower boundary;
→ during the sell-off on 30 January, the channel median briefly acted as support (as indicated by the arrow).
It is therefore reasonable to assume that the current rebound from extreme oversold conditions may encounter resistance formed by:
→ the median of the channel;
→ key Fibonacci retracement levels (50% and 61.8%).
Looking several weeks ahead, it is possible that XAU/USD may stabilise in the lower half of this channel. At the same time, the long-term outlook remains constructive: JPMorgan analysts have raised their year-end gold price forecast to $6,300 per ounce, while Deutsche Bank expects gold to reach $6,000 per ounce.

Nikkei 225 Retreats From Record High
As the chart shows, the Nikkei 225 index (Japan 225 on FXOpen) reached a historic high near 58,500 points on Monday. Bullish sentiment was driven primarily by political developments.
According to media reports, the rally followed the decisive victory of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) under Sanae Takaichi, who has signalled aggressive fiscal stimulus measures (a package exceeding $135 bn), food tax cuts, and the continuation of an accommodative monetary policy stance.
However, today the Nikkei 225 is showing signs of a pullback. It is possible that major market participants have begun taking profits amid the wave of optimism, as Takaichi’s victory had already been largely priced in, and official confirmation of a parliamentary supermajority may have acted as a trigger to close long positions.
From a technical perspective, a retracement also appears justified.
Technical Analysis of the Nikkei 225 Chart
It is worth noting that:
→ after the RSI moved into extreme overbought territory, it formed a bearish divergence with price;
→ price action itself produced a bearish triple top pattern.
As the decline unfolds, a local trendline (shown in purple) has shifted from acting as support to functioning as resistance.
In light of the above, it is reasonable to assume that an extended pullback could drive the Nikkei 225 towards the median of the long-term ascending channel.
In the event of a deeper correction, the support zone below the 56,000 level may come into play, where a previous bullish imbalance formed characteristics of a Fair Value Gap pattern.

WTI Oil Pulls Back from Its 2026 High
As the XTI/USD chart shows, the price of a barrel:
→ set fresh 2026 highs above $67 earlier this week;
→ but yesterday posted a sharp reversal lower (as indicated by the blue arrow).
The spike in volatility was driven by conflicting reports from Geneva, where talks between the United States and Iran were taking place:
→ some sources suggested negotiations had reached an impasse, as Washington insists on a complete halt to uranium enrichment;
→ meanwhile, according to Omani mediators, progress has been made and another round of talks is scheduled for next week.
Technical Analysis of the XTI/USD Chart
When analysing the oil price chart on the morning of 19 February, we suggested that:
→ the market could soon set a new high for the year (which materialised, with a series of highs formed between 19 and 23 February);
→ the 65.20 level would act as support (confirmed on 23 February).
Today’s chart indicates growing bearish pressure, reflected in the following:
→ WTI struggled to hold above its yearly highs, forming signs of potential bull traps;
→ yesterday’s candle (marked with a red arrow) shows a pronounced upper wick.
At the same time, bulls clearly defended the former resistance level at $63.73. The lower boundary of the ascending trajectory that has defined WTI price movements in 2026 also supports the bullish case.
It is worth noting that an OPEC+ meeting is scheduled for the weekend. According to media reports, analysts expect an increase in output from April, which could heighten concerns about oversupply — particularly after US crude inventories rose on Wednesday. As a result, Monday’s trading may open with elevated volatility.

EUR/USD Chart Analysis: Pair Trades Near Yearly Lows
On 3 March, the EUR/USD pair fell below the January low (around 1.15777), establishing the lowest level of the year. As of today, 5 March, the chart shows signs of a continuation of bearish momentum.
On one hand, demand for the USD as a “safe-haven currency” remains elevated amid the ongoing military conflict in the Middle East.
On the other hand, the euro is under pressure because:
→ rising energy prices put the European Union at a disadvantage;
→ traders may be cautious ahead of today’s ECB news (Lagarde’s speech is scheduled for 20:00 GMT+3).
Technical Analysis of the EUR/USD Chart
On 19 February, we:
→ noted that bears held a certain advantage during February;
→ highlighted lower highs and lower lows at points A-B-C;
→ suggested a potential bearish scenario.
Since then, the downward movement has developed into a sequence A-B-C-D-E-F. Analysing the key patterns on the EUR/USD chart now allows us to construct a descending channel.
In this context, yesterday’s bearish reversal (indicated by the arrow) is noteworthy, as it occurred:
→ in the 0.382–0.5 Fibonacci zone, indicating a weak recovery;
→ below the channel median, which acted as resistance.
Considering the above, it is reasonable to state that bears remain in control. Forex traders should not rule out further declines in EUR/USD towards a new yearly low (and a test of the lower boundary of the channel).
However, the long lower shadow at point F suggests aggressive demand around the psychological level of 1.15000, and market sensitivity to Middle East news could rapidly change sentiment.

→ in the 0.382–0.5 Fibonacci zone, indicating a weak recovery;

US Dollar Index (DXY) Rises Above the 100 Level
Today the US Dollar Index (DXY) climbed above the psychological 100 mark for the first time in 2026, supported by a tense fundamental backdrop, with the military conflict in the Middle East acting as the main driver.
→ Financial market participants are selling riskier assets (such as equities and emerging market currencies) and reallocating funds into the US dollar, which is traditionally viewed as a safe haven during periods of war.
→ Iran’s statements about potentially closing the Strait of Hormuz, along with strikes on fuel infrastructure, are driving oil prices higher and increasing global inflation risks.
→ The strength of the US economy is also supporting the dollar. Yesterday’s labour market data showed no increase in unemployment.
Technical Analysis of the DXY Chart
On the morning of 9 March, while analysing the US Dollar Index (DXY) chart, we:
→ updated the ascending channel (marked in blue), within which the index had set its yearly high at that time;
→ suggested that DXY price movements might begin to stabilise.
Between 9 and 12 March, the DXY chart showed a pullback followed by a renewed upward move, which remained within the range defined by last week’s levels:
→ support at 98.60;
→ resistance at 99.68.
However, the developments mentioned above allowed bulls to regain momentum and extend the rally within the blue channel. In other words, if the earlier fluctuations between these levels reflected a balance between supply and demand, then today, 13 March, buyers appear to be taking the initiative, showing a willingness to pay more for the US dollar.
At present, the market looks overbought, as:
→ the RSI indicator has moved above the 70 level;
→ the price is trading above the upper boundary of the channel that had contained it since late January.
In the short term, a modest pullback cannot be ruled out, although it is unlikely to significantly alter the current market picture.

Tesla (TSLA) Shares Surge Following Musk’s Announcements
According to the chart, Tesla (TSLA) shares had been under significant pressure since the start of 2026: from their December high, they had lost around 25% of their value. The main bearish drivers included:
→ Intense competition from Chinese automakers, particularly BYD.
→ Falling margins. To maintain market share amid fierce competition, Tesla had to offer price concessions.
→ Doubts over whether Musk could launch the Robotaxi project on schedule, given incidents involving the Autopilot system in poor visibility conditions.
However, on 23 March, the shares staged a strong rebound — TSLA gained approximately 3.5% and closed above $380.
The rally was supported by Elon Musk officially unveiling the Terafab project over the weekend — a joint venture between Tesla, SpaceX, and the startup xAI, with investments estimated at $20–25 billion. The plan to build the world’s largest full-cycle semiconductor factory in Texas is intended to supply Tesla with its own advanced chips, including the new AI5 generation, for Full Self-Driving (FSD) systems, Cybercab robotaxis, and Optimus humanoid robots.
Technical Analysis of TSLA Shares
Analysing TSLA’s price on 23 January, we:
→ Updated the ascending channel, which had been in place since summer 2025;
→ Noted signs that bulls were regaining control near the lower boundary of this channel.
Despite this, the shares did not return to the main ascending channel, and the downtrend persisted. This led us to:
→ Draw a descending trendline;
→ Extend a parallel ascending channel downwards, which proved relevant on 5 February when TSLA bounced off its median.
The current upward reversal is notable:
→ It forms a bullish engulfing pattern;
→ It develops near the lower boundary of the parallel channel and the former resistance level at $360;
→ It suggests that Smart Money may be active, as indicated by the largest trading volumes since late January.
Thus, it is reasonable to suggest that the bearish trend for TSLA shares observed in 2026 may be approaching exhaustion.

#META #stockmarket #MarketNews #MarketUpdates
Meta Analysis: Price Attempts to Hold Above the Pattern Amid Mixed Volume Signals
On 26 August, Meta announced an agreement with a bipartisan group of 52 state and territorial attorneys general and the Attorney General of the District of Columbia. Under the agreement, the company will pay around $18 billion over ten years and introduce additional restrictions for underage Facebook and Instagram users, including a two-hour daily usage limit and an overnight app block from midnight to 6:00 am. Around $5.3 billion of this amount will only be payable if TikTok and YouTube implement similar measures and each pay a corresponding amount. Meta also expects to recognise around $10 billion in legal expenses in Q3 2026 in connection with the agreement.
Technical Analysis of Meta
On the four-hour META chart, the medium-term picture remains range-bound, with the price continuing to move within a broad range between the 690 and 540 areas. Within this range, a short-term decline occurred between 15 and 30 July, during which a pattern resembling a converging triangle formed near the lower end of the move. The pattern’s boundaries progressively narrowed the amplitude of price fluctuations. However, the vertical volume profile throughout the pattern’s formation does not appear typical of this type of consolidation, raising questions about the technical integrity of the structure.
After breaking above the pattern’s upper boundary, the price remains within the current market profile and is now squeezed between the Point of Control (POC) at $587.00 and the upper boundary of the profile at $600.00, attempting to establish itself above the pattern. Red resistance is located around $612.00 and is relatively close to the profile. If the price returns to the pattern’s range and establishes itself below the lower boundary of the profile at $564.00, a green support level around $550.00 could come into play. This level is also relatively close to the profile.
The RSI + MAs indicator is showing readings of 62, 54 and 49. The oscillator is above the neutral zone, while the moving averages remain within the zone, meaning that it is still too early to speak of a confirmed breakout.
Key Takeaways
The atypical volume pattern within the formation, combined with the incomplete RSI + MAs signal, leaves open the question of how sustainable the price’s move above the established structure will prove to be. An additional source of uncertainty is that part of the litigation settlement remains conditional on decisions by Meta’s competitors across the industry.
