In the American market, high-tech #Nasdaq lost over 2% on Thursday, #SP500 fell by 1.4%, and bond yields continued to rise amid the Fed's willingness to tighten its policy
The sale on the U.S. stock markets was gaining momentum yesterday. #DJI fell by 2.4%, #SP500 lost more than 3%, and #Nasdaq plunged by 4.4% in just one trading session.
#Nasdaq Index had lost 3% on Monday, and at the start of trading on Tuesday plummeted to lows seen back in May, subsequent to the decline of stocks of market giant such as #Google, #Amazon and #Apple.
ECB Day: in anticipation of the decision

#SPX, #Nasdaq indices updated historical highs in anticipation of the Fed and the ECB’s imminent policy easing

#EURUSD fell to 1.1130 and continues to be under pressure this week

An extremely busy week can be a turning point for the markets

This week promises to be very busy with important events from the U.S. - China trade talks to FOMC Meeting and NFP report that could potentially set the tone for the next few weeks or even months.

Note that expectations quite low, so it is easier to surprise markets.

The #Nasdaq and #SPX closed last week with an update of historical highs but #DJIA is lagging that may be a bad sign.

The single currency failed to bounce back and returned to the 1.1120.

#GBPUSD slipped below 1.24 at the end of the week, breaking 28-month lows

Market Overview: NASDAQ 100
The Nasdaq index, rich with tech companies, lost more than 15% from peaks at the start of April to lows on April 26th. The pressure is due to index companies' sensitivity to monetary policy: they were the beneficiaries of a period of low-interest rates and are now falling faster than the market due to tightening financial conditions. πŸ“‰

πŸ”ŽLook out for: Markets are pricing in expectations of a 175-point rate hike at the following three Fed meetings (50 + 75 + 50), which could be the most extreme hike since the early 1980s. But it is possible that markets have gone too far in their expectations, and the Fed will soften them, which could have a positive effect on stocks and particularly Nasdaq100.

Nasdaq-100 performance to remain in the shadow of Dow Jones for months to come
The #DowJones is up 4.6% in the past five days versus 0.7% for the #Nasdaq-100. And this divergence in momentum may continue as long as monetary authorities remain in the regime of containing inflation rather than pushing it up as they have been doing since 2009.

The behaviour of the markets in February and May 2020 was the latest reminder that stocks could fall altogether, but recovery is closely dependent on changed circumstances. Then, thanks to monetary stimulus, the fate was on the side of β€œgrowth stocks”, widely represented in the Nasdaq-100, and now may shift to β€œvalue stocks”, which are more in the Dow Jones or the Russell 1000 Value.

However, until October, there was not much sense in picking leaders as stock indices were declining and the most obvious way to preserve capital was to buy dollars. Nevertheless, at the end of September, it seems the markets entered a new cycle.

β€’ Nasdaq 100 reversed from pivotal resistance level 12200.00

β€’ Likely to fall to support level 11600.00

Nasdaq 100 index recently reversed from the pivotal resistance level 12200.00 (previous monthly high from December), intersecting with the upper daily Bollinger Band and the 50% Fibonacci correction of the downward impulse from August.

The downward reversal from the resistance level 12200.00 created the daily Japanese candlesticks reversal pattern Bearish Engulfing.

Nasdaq 100 index can be expected to fall further toward the next support level 11600.00 (low of the previous daily Hammer from last week).
