#SP500 reversed from key support level 4550.00

β€’ Likely to rise to resistance level 4800.00

S&P 500 index continues to rise steadily after the price reversed up from the key support level 4550.00 (former resistance from the start of September).

The upward reversal from the support level 4550.00 started the active impulse wave 3 of the higher level impulse wave (3).

Given the prevailing daily uptrend, S&P 500 index can be expected to rise further toward the next resistance level 4800.00 (target for the completion of the active impulse wave 3))

S&P 500 broke key support level 3900.00

β€’ Likely to fall to support level 3800.00

S&P 500 index recently broke the key support level 3900.00 (which has been reversing the price from the end of July) intersecting with the 61.8% Fibonacci correction of the upward ABC correction from June .

The breakout of the support level 3900.00 continues the active intermediate impulse wave (3), which is aligned with the clear downtrend from last December.

Given the expectation of further rate hikes in USA, S&P 500 index can be expected to fall toward the next support level 3800.00.

S&P 500 reversed from key support level 3570.00

β€’ Likely to rise to resistance level 3800.00

S&P 500 index recently reversed up with the daily Bullish Engulfing from the key support level 3570.00 (which stopped the price at the start of October) standing near the lower daily Bollinger Band.

The upward reversal from the support level 3570.00 started the active short-term corrective wave 2.

Given the improving risk sentiment globally and the clear divergence on the daily Stochastic indicator, S&P 500 index can be expected to rise toward the next resistance level 3800.00 (top of earlier daily Evening Star from the start of this month).

There is another worry for the bulls - the performance of other equity indices. The #Nasdaq100 – the guiding star of investors in recent years – has stabilised in a narrow range since the beginning of last week. An attempt to develop growth on Wednesday was met with a sell-off, and Thursday also went to the bears' credit.

The #SP500 index, the leading market benchmark, stuck to the 4560 level. The bulls managed to close the gap from the beginning of August and seem to be exhausted. A side effect of this is the compression of volatility and the VIX index falling to multi-year lows, from which reversals have also often occurred.

The small-cap #Russell2000 index, the DJIA’s opposite, has been hitting horizontal resistance near 1810 for more than two weeks now, unable to get above its 200-day moving average despite a spectacular reversal in late October.

Fed can end US Indices’ divergence

The US indices, #SP500 and #Nasdaq100, closed at new all-time highs, largely due to Apple's positive performance. However, other markets and indices are far from similarly positive. This both leaves room for growth and indicates investor wariness.

The Nasdaq100 index is above 19200, adding 0.7% over the last day and adding 16.1% YTD. Futures are trading in a slight plus on Thursday. The S&P500 rose 0.3% to 5375, bringing its YTD advance to 13.3%. Both have maintained positive momentum since the beginning of the month after a quick correction in late May.

The immediate driver of the gains was a 7.3% jump in Apple shares in a single day. The market's initial negative reaction to the announcement of the AI strategy, which took away 2% at the premarket, turned into an abundant short squeeze by the opening of trading, sending the stock well into the territory of all-time highs. Interestingly, Apple continues to lag in the market, adding 11.6% YTD.
