Gaelium Wallet v1.0.2 for Linux is out

v1.0.2 is now complete on all three platforms. Windows, macOS and Linux all run the same wallet with the same embedded Gaelium Core daemon v1.0.1. Updating is recommended for security reasons.

Available as AppImage, .deb (Debian, Ubuntu) and .rpm (Fedora).

Install over your current version. Your wallet, addresses and blockchain data are preserved.

Two things to know on Linux:

- The AppImage must be made executable before it runs. Open its file properties and allow it to run as a program, or run chmod +x on it. The .deb and .rpm do not need this.

- Uninstalling does not delete your wallet. Your keys stay in ~/.gaelium on purpose. Delete that folder yourself if you want them gone.

Three platforms, one wallet version, and a new guide for miners.

🔧 Development & Infrastructure
- The macOS daemon and CLI v1.0.1 went live on August 17. The earlier macOS build would not start without extra libraries installed. That is fixed, and the binaries carry the security patch.
- Desktop wallet v1.0.2 is now published for Windows, macOS and Linux, each with the patched daemon embedded. Every platform is on the same version for the first time.
- Linux ships in three formats, AppImage, .deb and .rpm, all tested on Ubuntu and Fedora before release.
- All downloads and SHA-256 checksums are on gaelium.io, and the releases are on GitHub.

- New page, a full GPU mining guide at https://gaelium.io/how-to-mine-gaelium.html
- It covers NVIDIA and AMD, Windows, Linux and HiveOS, ready to use .bat files, every pool with its stratum address, solo mining and troubleshooting.
- Worth knowing, the KawPoW DAG is still only around 1.05 GB, so even a 2 GB card mines Gaelium today. Older hardware that is shut out elsewhere still works here.

It works differently from our other pools. You need an account there, your username replaces your wallet address, and you pick GAEL once in your worker settings. Skip that step and their multiport mines whatever pays best that day. Do it and your rig stays on Gaelium for good.

🔧 Pool improvements
The profitability column on our pool was showing zero. It now reads a live coin price and shows a real figure, with a note explaining what it means.

While working on it we found that solo shares were being counted into shared block splits. It had been running since launch. Fixed, and every miner who lost out has been paid back in full.

Mobile display fixed across the site. The download button was unreachable in landscape on some screens.

Most of this week went into finding things that were quietly wrong on our own pool.

🔧 Development & Infrastructure

- Miners connecting to our pool with a malformed address had their work accepted but their earnings converted to zero on maturity. It had been happening since launch, silently. 127,954 GAEL lost across 43 accounts, one miner alone losing 93,566 GAEL because he wrote a slash instead of a dot.

- We paid back 97,725 GAEL to everyone we could identify, out of our own pocket rather than from pool funds. Nobody asked us to.

- Our stratum now refuses invalid addresses at connection, and the wallet page warns you if one of your workers is misconfigured. This was on our pool only, nothing to do with the chain, the wallets, or any other pool.

- Our pool was showing a price 26 percent too low. The USDT bridge feeding it had been written once in August and never refreshed. Fixed at the source, and both Mining Dutch and nonkyc confirm the corrected figure.

- 28 graphics cards measured one by one on GAEL, NVIDIA and AMD in separate tables, stock settings, thirty minutes each, efficiency in MH/W

- New earnings calculator on the mining guide and on the pool. Type your hashrate, read your day and your month in dollars and in GAEL, based on what the pool actually paid over the last 24 hours.

- Our pool now shows earnings in US dollars per MH/s per day, with last hour and last 24 hours columns.

- Three of the AMD cards were measured and reported by Tritonion, and his protocol was better than ours. Thanks for that.

- F4Pool added, our eighth pool. PROP and SOLO, 0.8% fee, no registration, 0.1 GAEL minimum payout. We ran a rig on it before listing them, as always.

Quieter week than the last one. Mostly trading venues and mining coverage.

💱 Two new places to trade GAEL

TidoEx first, then NestEx. That makes three venues.

NestEx is the older of the two and runs a proper exchange with a working API. Volume there is still small, but the platform is going in the right direction and it is a real market rather than a page with a logo on it. TidoEx is newer, and the listing request and the initial liquidity both came from a community member rather than from us.
