Greetings from IITM BSc Degree Program!!

The registration for courses to the May 2021 term is now open.

How to fill the form?

Login to onlinedegree.iitm.ac.in with your student email ID

[xxxxxxxxxxxx@student.onlinedegree.iitm.ac.in].

Click on the tab Course Registration inside your Candidate dashboard.

Go through the instructions given before filling the form.

Ensure that you upload all relevant documents and pay the fees to complete the registration process.

Choosing courses:

Hope you have gone through the documents we have shared earlier.

Total number of final exams that one can write = 4

Total number of New/Repeat courses that one can register to <= CCC.

For courses you have passed belonging to Sem 1 - you can register to the subsequent courses in sem 2 for which these are the prerequisites.

If you were absent for final exams of any Jan 2021 term course, you can apply for the final Makeup exam alone or repeat the course.

If you have failed a course, you will need to repeat the course.

Our recommendations:

Choose wisely on the load you can take in the next term to be able to study and do well.

Register to courses you were absent for or failed so that you can complete them in May 2021 term when the content studied is still fresh in your mind.

Then go in for New courses as per your ccc and as per your time availability.

Deadline:

Last date to register to May 2021 courses: 12th April 2021 at 11:59 PM IST


Note:

Please read the operational documents which we shared already before registering for the courses.
If your documents (SC/ST/PwD/OBC-NCL/EWS/Family income) have been approved in Dec 2020 when registering for the Jan 2021 term, it will be valid for this term also. You need not reupload the same again.
In case you wish to change your category, you can choose the same and submit a valid certificate while registering.

⚠️ Clarification regarding the Scholarship ⚠️

You won't get any option to redeem the scholarship in the portal while paying for the registration.

You'll need to pay the amount you're supposed to pay and then the same amount will be reimbursed (credited back) to the same mode of payment you selected, WITHIN THE TERM (there's no fixed duration by which it will be reimbursed).

Eg: If you pay via UPI then the amount you pay will be sent back to the same UPI ID within the term.

⚠️ FAQs regarding Scholarship ⚠️

🔘 Scholarship option/tab is not available in course registration form.

Yes, it is not implemented in the form as this was a last minute receipt we got from the companies.

🔘 I am eligible for a scholarship. Then why should I pay full fee now?

Please see the rules given in the document. We will be refunding after you make the payment. https://tinyurl.com/LTTS556

🔘 If I pay my course fee when, how and which account I will get my reimbursement

You will get the reimbursement into the same account you paid from. We will revert the refund through razorpay into the same account.

🔘 Can I update my family income certificate now to get a scholarship?

Based on the family income levels declared by candidates when registering for the Jan 2021 term, we have disbursed all the funds we have received towards scholarship to current students. Regret to say we will be unable to provide any further scholarships immediately. We will inform you if we do receive any further endowments.

🔘 This scholarship is applicable for the term-1 fee also which we paid already?

The way it works is - the fee paid towards term 1 courses you have passed - will be refunded against the New courses you register in term 2. So the scholarship we give you is essentially a refund of the term 1 fees.

Dear Learner,

 

As part of the cultural activities of IITM BSc degree program, we are planning to organize a second cultural event on April 18, 2021. The event will be held between 6:00 - 7:30 PM virtually and will be primarily having performing arts.

This is the second activity, we are gathering expression of interest from the students. We will be using this opportunity to identify talents from our student community and provide them a platform to share with peers.

This is an academic contest - CRICKET and CODING CHALLENGE. 

Anyone who has elementary knowledge of coding and an interest in Data Science can register and compete.

Dear candidate,

You have registered to write the Qualifier exams on April 25, 2021.
Please note that there may be audio questions for the English paper.

Candidates need to bring your own 3.5mm wired headsets/earphones.
With or Without Mic is OK. Bluetooth set is not allowed.  
Headset/earphone will NOT be provided at the exam center.

Note:


- Ensure that your headset/earphones work well and the cable is long enough. The CPU will be kept on the floor in the exam room. So, ensure that the cord is sufficiently long enough to connect to the headphone jack in the CPU.
- If the audio does not work on your system on the exam day, alert the TCS invigilator/supervisor on the same. If it is an issue with the system, they will help with solving the issue.
- If you are unable to listen to the audio clip and hence cannot answer the questions, we will be unable to assist you or make any amends, post-exams, on this.

As part of the extracurricular student activities, we had triggered a student-lecture series from March 31. We have already conducted two sessions in which working professionals from the program joined as part of a panel to discuss the ‘Relevance of BSc degree in their current professional role’.

 

Both these sessions were attended by more than 300 students, and we observed several insightful discussions happening between panelists and listeners. To extend this further, we have created a ‘Google Currents’ community where we will be engaging in focussed asynchronous discussions around the key emerging themes from these sessions. The community activities will be moderated by Dr. Jayakrishnan from our side.
