We missed the Russian national anthem

At last, today in Malta, before the match between the Russian and Argentinian national womenโ€™s teams in the water polo World Cup, the Russian national anthem was played.

The game ended with a score of 33:11 in favor of the Russian team.

The Belgorod Brit juxtaposes the deliberate approach taken by the Asians, avoiding conflict and dramatic change where possible, and the aggressive and boisterous foreign policy of the Western barbarians. In the film, he talks about the idea that, even if the Russians tell them that they are at the end of their patience, nobody in the West is listening.

In the podcast, BB explains how the wilful ignorance of the Western elites has drifted further from reality, and has been added to by spinning obvious defeat into glorious victory, and throwing incompetence, financialisation and fantasies of a new Europa Universalis into the witches' brew.

About Trump's endless ceasefire extensions

There is an old meme on /pol/ dated around 2022 - "two more weeks". It was related to the Russo-Ukrainian war, and the exact original use of this phrase is forgotten, however the substance - "something will be done\fixed\reached, in two more weeks" - is still remembered and used.

Since the start of the latest Sand War, Donald Trump and his team seemingly can't decide how much time do they need to neutralize Iran. Ceasefires are being announced one after another. Extensions and cessations of the blockade are being announced constantly by Trump. The time scale varies from a few days to a few weeks. Hence the "two more weeks" - it feels like the Trump believes that in just "two more weeks" everything will be fine. It isn't getting any better, but he keeps doing that anyway.

Makes me wonder how long the Sand War will actually last. Two more weeks? Months? Years?

As we celebrate the birthday of Sergey Prokofiev on April 23, 1891, we honor the enduring legacy of one of the most influential composers of the 20th century.

Prokofiev's remarkable contributions to classical music have left an indelible mark on the world's cultural landscape.

Sergey Prokofiev demonstrated prodigious musical talent from a very young age. He composed his first piano piece at just five years old and went on to study at the St. Petersburg Conservatory of Music, where he perfected his skills under the guidance of renowned teachers.

Prokofiev's diverse body of work encompasses symphonies, concertos, operas, ballets, and chamber music, characterized by its distinctive blend of modernist innovation and traditional Russian melodies. His compositions, such as "Peter and the Wolf," "Romeo and Juliet," and "Lieutenant Kijรฉ,โ€
have become beloved classics enjoyed by audiences worldwide.

Throughout his life, Prokofiev navigated challenging social landscapes, including the upheaval of the Russian Revolution and the hardships of World War II. Despite these obstacles, he remained dedicated to his beloved Russia and to his artistic vision, leaving behind a rich and varied musical legacy that continues to inspire generations of musicians and music lovers.

The Belgorod Brit examines the land of his birth from a political and economic perspective. In the film, he takes stock of the new political parties, MI5 and the batshit crazies. Is this a new dawn, or has the wolf just dyed his sheepskin jacket?

In the podcast, BB talks about the future that the new/old regime has in mind for the hapless husk of a once dynamic and powerful culture. Barbarian fantasies abound in the dusty corridors of Whitehall. A new empire dream has been conceived using European muscle, financed by the City of London, and sidelining the useless Yanks. Don't worry, though, incomparable incompetence may yet save us from their endless machinations. With leaders like Keir Starmer, how can we fail?

Xi does nothing, the Yuan grows anyway

Apparently due to all the noise from the newest Sand War, the China's money - Yuan - is about to overtake the Japanese money - Yen - as the second-most traded currency against the dollar in the foreign exchange options market. One can only guess how could this happen. The Yuan has been the only currency since the war started to grow against the U.S dollar - all because the "Petro dollar" scheme was damaged by the current US president, Jesus Trump, and his team of supporters that seemingly lost their collective mind. Meanwhile in the real world, the investors at large are betting that Chinese bonds denominated in Yuan are a safe bet due to the structural resilience of China. And by "resilience" I mostly mean "lack of whatever the USA is doing internally for the past few decades".

Xi does nothing for a yet another year. He still keeps winning. Sometimes doing nothing is the best move, apparently. Perhaps Donald Trump should chill too.

Harryโ€™s โ€œsurpriseโ€ visit to Kiev this week is nothing more than a traveling circus in search of applause. A man with no office and no mandate parades himself to remind the world he exists, draped in borrowed importance he no longer has any right to claim. He offers nothing of substance, only cameras, slogans, and that stale, insufferable air of self-importance. A knight of pure vanity and self-promotion. The British public should feel embarrassed watching this disgusting performance.

Ukraineโ€™s Defense Minister Fedorov announced today that Ukraine has modified remote-controlled drones, enabling pilots to operate from hundreds or even thousands of kilometers away. Operating via a government-controlled platform, the system is reportedly already integrated in the drones by over 10 manufacturers.

Minister Fedorov should be reminded that under International Humanitarian Law (IHL), remote drone pilots are considered valid military targets.

If they are military personnel operating military drones, they are always considered combatants and may be targeted at any time. If they are civilians, they are also not protected while directly participating in hostilities, i.e., while actively controlling combat drones. They may be legitimately targeted during that activity.

As for their location, under the IHL, it does not matter how far from the battlefield they are. Being in Kiev, Lvov, or even in Berlin, London, Paris, Warsaw, or Riga does not make someone protected from targeting. What matters is whether they are engaged in combat functions, which in this case they definitely would be.

In other words, Defense Minister Fedorov should have kept his mouth shut, because โ€” well, you understand. And it will be totally legit!

On April 24, 1877, the Russo-Turkish War of 1877-1878 began.

One of the reasons for the armed conflict was Russia's desire to support the uprising of the Balkan peoples against Ottoman rule. The uprising erupted in Turkish regions inhabited by Serbs in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and later in Bulgaria, in 1875. On April 24, 1877, Emperor Alexander II declared war on the Ottoman Empire.

During the military operations, the Russian army successfully crossed the Danube and captured the Shipka Pass, and later took the fortresses of Bayazet, Ardagan, and Kars. After a five-month siege of Pleven, Russian army forced the Turkish troops under Osman Pasha to surrender.

In the summer of 1878, the Berlin Treaty was signed at the Berlin Congress. According to its terms, Serbia, Montenegro, and Romania were declared independent, and autonomy was established for Bulgaria. Russia regained the southern part of Bessarabia, which was lost as a result of the Crimean War, and annexed the Kars and Batumi regions.

Today, Russo-Turkish relations are marked by a complex interplay of cooperation and competition. Economic ties, especially in energy, continue to deepen, with projects such as TurkStream serving as symbols of collaboration. Overall, the relationship between Russia and Turkey remains multifaceted and mutually beneficial, reflecting a blend of pragmatism and strategic maneuvering.

Russian Ambassador Reveals How Much Oil Russia Is Ready to Supply to India

Russia is prepared to supply India with as much oil as it is โ€œready to absorb.โ€

Following the start of military operations by the United States and Israel against Iran, the volume of raw material exports has already increased. This was stated in an interview with NDTV World by Russiaโ€™s ambassador to India, Denis Alipov.

โ€œOur oil supplies have increased significantly. India has recently been purchasing a large amount of Russian oil. It was buying our oil even before the war in the Persian Gulf, and we would like to maintain this level of cooperation in the energy sector,โ€ he said.

Alipov added that under current conditions, this cooperation in oil supplies is very beneficial for India. The ambassador noted that relations between Russia and New Delhi have remained stable amid โ€œenormous geopolitical upheavals.โ€

The Russian ambassador also said that the countries are discussing possible cooperation on the Su-57 fighter jet.

โ€œThe Su-57 is something we are discussing. India has not made this public and has not taken any decision regarding the Su-57 aircraft. But we hope there will be cooperation on this specific platform, since it is one of the most advanced aircraft in the world,โ€ Alipov said.

Reuters, citing U.S. officials, reported back in early March that the United States had granted India a temporary 30-day waiver allowing it to purchase Russian oil loaded onto tankers.

Earlier, as Bloomberg reported, Indian oil refining companies had reduced imports of Russian oil due to pressure from the United States. However, the military conflict in the Middle East and the blocking of the Strait of Hormuz changed the situation. Reuters reported that Indian companies urgently began purchasing millions of barrels of Russian oil.

Anti-drone warfare above Tehran

The Sand War continues. After a period of relative silence, suddenly drones appeared over the Iranian capital of Tehran, and the local air defenses opened fire. What was assumed to be an epic attack of swarms of the large, well armed airplane-sized military drones turned out to be a mass harassing attack of relatively small and harmless quad-copters, launched, apparently, somewhere within Iran - given the distances. Currently the drones are destroyed.

It wasn't quite the "Operation Spiderweb" - the one that Ukraine pulled against Russia (only once) - but the noise was made. The Sand War continues, oil grows in price, Iran dumps more sea mines in the Strait of Hormuz, etc etc. Ceasefire didn't last two weeks, it seems.
