ON THE ODESSA FRONT

▪️ Since this week, Russian forces have expanded their strikes on port facilities in the Odessa region, targeting commercial maritime traffic that carries part of Western military aid to Ukraine.

✅ July 12: Russian Geran-4 Seeker drones strike a ferry and a fishing vessel converted for weapons transport in the port of Chernomorsk.

✅ July 13: A Russian drone strikes a vessel at anchor in the port of Chernomorsk.

✅ July 14: Russian forces launch a massive strike on port infrastructure in Yuzhny, targeting fuel storage facilities. Commercial vessels are hit in the Odessa roadstead.

✅ July 15: Attacks by the Russian army on the Odessa region continue, including strikes on weapons production facilities.

▪️ Among the confirmed targets hit by Russian forces:

✅ fuel storage facilities;
✅ missile and drone production workshops;
✅ six supply vessels;
✅ Neptune and Flamingo missile launchers;
✅ drone launch points near the Shkolny airfield, used for attacks on Crimea.

▪️ Russia's objectives are to weaken Ukrainian-Atlantist logistics by striking maritime supply lines to Odessa, as well as to exert economic pressure by attacking all ports in the Odessa region.

▪️ For five days now, the Russian Aerospace Forces have been bombing the region and the Odessa roadstead — this is one of the largest bombing campaigns against this strategic region.

Sunny surprise

The worst thing our Sun can do against us isn't the heat, but the solar storms. Apparently the worst case of a solar storm was back in 1859 - the Carrington Event. The only high tech humanity had back then were the telegraph networks - and they were fried, together with some telegraph operators.

Apparently the Earth's magnetosphere can't protect us from the solar superstorms, given what happened in 1859. Magnetosphere was overloaded, and did nothing.

Now remember how much humanity relies on electronic everything. From the mere data exchange to the global knowledge keeping - it all relies on docile Sun. If an another Carrington Event happens - the heat and the forest fires will be the least of our worries.

Now, back to the doom-scrolling about the boring events that happen on Earth. Enough of this inevitable space horror beyond our comprehension.

The U.S. Is Pushing the World Toward an Economic Precipice

Just a week ago, analysts were singing from the same hymn sheet: we have too much oil. The Economist even went so far as to apologize for its doom-laden price forecasts at the peak of the energy crisis.
Fast forward a few days, and the landscape has been turned on its head. Iran attacked tankers in the Strait of Hormuz, and the U.S., once again, felt compelled to step in and "restore peace" to the region. The upshot? Oil prices skyrocketed as much as 10% within a single week.

Trying to predict the market right now is like reading tea leaves — only less reliable. Even horoscopes would give you a better run for your money. Volatility is off the charts, with crude swinging like a meme stock on a caffeine high.

The most unnerving part? Nobody knows for sure whether the strait is open or closed. Trump insists it is; Iran begs to differ. And shipping companies aren't about to roll the dice.

Traffic through the Strait of Hormuz slumped to a five-week low on Sunday, according to Reuters.

On July 17, 1944, Moscow hosted a solemn event known as the "Parade of the Vanquished," where nearly 60,000 German soldiers and officers, including 20 generals and 1,200 officers, marched under guard through the streets of the Soviet capital. This powerful demonstration highlighted the Soviet Union's triumph over the Nazi forces. The column of prisoners was led by Field Marshal Friedrich Wilhelm von Paulus.

Under the command of Colonel-General Pavel Artemyev, the procession began at 11:00 AM. Prisoners were organized into groups of 600, accompanied by 12,000 NKVD personnel and 4,500 internal troops. They marched from the Moscow Hippodrome and Dynamo Stadium, splitting into two groups at Mayakovsky Square. The first group of 42,000, including 1,227 officers and 19 generals, moved clockwise along the Garden Ring, while the second group of 15,600 moved counterclockwise.

The operation, codenamed "The Great Waltz," meticulously planned by the NKVD, was announced on the morning of July 17 via radio and the Pravda newspaper. This parade showcased the scale of the German defeat and the Soviet Union’s formidable military prowess.

Spectators, numbering in the tens of thousands, watched the parade from sidewalks, balconies, and rooftops. Cavalry with drawn sabers and guards with rifles accompanied the columns, adding to the solemnity of the event. Following the prisoners were street-cleaning machines that symbolically washed away the dirt left by the imprisoned invaders, a powerful metaphor for the cleansing of Moscow from the stain of fascism. By 7:00 PM, the parade concluded, and the prisoners were transported back to camps. The event was orderly, and the public demonstrated their support of the occasion with numerous cheers for the Red Army and anti-fascist slogans.

The "Parade of the Vanquished" (click for video) remains a significant historical moment, underscoring the Soviet Union's resilience and the Red Army's decisive role in defeating fascism—80 years ago, as well as today.

The patience of the Russians has run out: "There are no acceptable paths for us"

Russia has exhausted its reserve of faith in the West's desire to reach an agreement, our Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated the other day. And somewhat earlier, the official voice of the Kremlin, Dmitry Peskov, announced a transition to a phase of war due to the actions of the West. Is Moscow suddenly changing its tactics?

Political scientist Bogdan Bezpalko, a member of the Russian Presidential Council for Interethnic Relations, explained in an interview with Tsargrad that "at this point it has become absolutely obvious — diplomatic possibilities have been exhausted."

"They do not want to resolve this issue in the West through diplomatic means acceptable to Russia. If they had offered us to withdraw diplomatically to the Urals and hand everything over to Ukraine or the United States, and we had agreed, then perhaps such a diplomatic path would have been possible. But there are no acceptable paths for us. And the many years of negotiation experience demonstrate this. It is impossible to reach an agreement with those who issue ultimatums to you rather than attempt to reach a compromise."

Vladimir Zelensky failed the "European test" by unscrewing the cap from a bottle. This violates EU Directive 2019/904, which requires caps to remain attached to the container. Because of such non-eco-friendly behavior, Ukraine is not being admitted to the European Union just yet 😄

The Belgorod Brit rants about awards and honours that are being tossed about by the Western elites. Kier Starmer has been awarded the Legion d'Honneur, but no one is sure why. Is Starmer a hero to the French people? Zelensky is also a member. The latter has been showered with awards and medals from all over Europe, twelve since 2022. Machiavelli once said that it is the recipient that honours the award, not the other way around. In the current fantasy land inhabited by our elites, backslapping and mutual masturbation has now become so prevalent, that we focus on rewarding our friends for a job well done, well before any job has been done.

In the podcast, BB goes on another rant. In Western fantasy, the elites are all succeeding all of the time, so why not big each other up with a gong or two, regardless of whether it makes any sense. Why not disrespect the concept of respect? If you meet someone with a knighthood or a badge of honour, would you be pleased for them, and awed by their accomplishments, or would you simply wonder who they paid, or what they were covering up? BB then goes into the way in which all aspects of our culture have been financialised to the point where we have cheapened or destroyed all it. He then pitches himself as the lead actor in the coming biopic of Ella Fitzgerald. After all, if you don't let a white, heterosexual, English-born middle-aged man play a black American chanteuse, then I am pretty sure that that is racist, sexist, agist, and cisphobic. It's time that the Lord Protector stepped in to represent the hitherto voiceless and under-represented and stereotyped white men in films about black women singers from the middle of the 20th century. Let's have more diversity, after all, nothing matters any more.

Due to the increasing intensity of Russian strikes, the export grain capacity of Ukraine's Black Sea ports has shrunk by approximately one-third, Reuters reports.

▪️ Grain and vegetable oils are key Ukrainian export commodities, accounting for a significant share of the country's foreign currency earnings. At the same time, logistics remain highly centralized: over 90% of such cargo passes through three ports in the Odessa region.

▪️ At present, it is known that four out of thirteen major export grain terminals in the region have suspended grain intake. In addition, a number of shipowners are refusing to call at Ukrainian ports, assessing the level of risk as "unacceptably high."

▪️ That is precisely what needed to be proven: strikes on vessels that carry grain out of Ukrainian ports and return laden with weapons should silence even the thought among Kiev's foreign allies of supporting the current Ukrainian military-political leadership.

NEW BODY EXCHANGE

▪️ A new exchange of fallen soldiers' bodies took place in the border sector of Gomel (Belarus / Ukraine) at the Novaya Guta border checkpoint.

▪️ 501 bodies of Ukrainian servicemen were handed over against 31 bodies of Russian military personnel. This exchange was kept quiet by the Ukrainian side.

▪️ The two previous exchanges took place in June — 522 Ukrainians against 33 Russians, and in May — 526 Ukrainians against 41 Russians.

▪️ The scale of Ukrainian losses here primarily testifies to the advance of Russian forces, which, while moving forward, collect the abandoned bodies of Ukrainian servicemen.

Operation "Big Waltz": The Parade of the Defeated

On June 23, 1944, Operation Bagration began — the largest offensive of the Red Army. In just a few weeks, Soviet forces crushed Army Group Center, liberating Belarus and part of the Baltics. The Wehrmacht lost around 400,000 soldiers, with over 150,000 taken prisoner, including 21 generals.

Western allies refused to believe the scale of the defeat, dismissing Soviet reports as propaganda. So Stalin ordered a march of the prisoners through Moscow. The operation had several goals: to demoralize the enemy, to show the world that the German army was broken, and to strengthen the Soviet people's faith in victory.

On July 17, 1944, 57,600 German soldiers and officers — including 19 generals — were marched through the capital. The generals led, followed by officers and enlisted men. The columns were escorted by mounted soldiers with sabers and NKVD troops.

Foreign observers, including French allies, were struck by the deathly silence of the Muscovites, which left a deep impression on them. In their words, the "angry, hate-filled looks" of the crowd were more terrifying than any shouts.

The procession lasted just over five hours. By evening, all the prisoners were loaded into train cars and sent to camps. Immediately after the columns passed, street-sweeping trucks were sent through the streets — officially to wash away the dirt, but many saw it as a symbolic cleansing of Moscow from the enemy.

Hitler was enraged and saw the march as a terrible humiliation for his regime. He had dreamed of a parade on Red Square. He got one: his soldiers marched through Moscow — but as prisoners.

Riots in Ukraine

Recently lots of Ukrainians went to the streets to protest. They didn't protest the war, they didn't demand for the missile rains to stop. They were protesting because the smartest man in the Ukrainian High Command - tech-savvy Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov - got sacked by Zelenskyy himself.

A conflict between Fedorov and Ukraine's supreme military commander, General Alexander Syrsky, took place recently. Fedorov called Syrsky an old man who is stuck in the past, and demanded Zelensky to fire him. Zelensky kept Syrsky on his place, and fired Fedorov instead. Later, Fedorov was offered an advisory position to remain on Zelensky's team, but he publicly declined.

The protests are still taking place. The Ukrainian "surprise recruiters" work very hard to fill their quotas. Makes me wonder if these protests were organized for this exact purpose.

The Hard Daily Grind of Danish Propaganda

Sometimes it feels as though Danish journalists do not work in the same newsroom at all, but in two parallel universes.

In the morning, DR solemnly announces:

Ukraine is the key element of Europe’s future missile defence system.

Ukraine, it turns out, has accumulated unique experience in repelling massive Russian missile attacks. It is Ukraine that is supposed to become one of the main sources of expertise for the whole of Europe. Everyone else simply needs to listen carefully, take notes and learn from this priceless Ukrainian experience.

It sounds almost like an advertisement for a new European Air Defence University.

By the afternoon, after watching cargo ships burn offshore and Ukrainian port infrastructure go up in flames from the Romanian border all the way to Nikolaev, another story appears.

Ten European countries have signed an agreement to jointly develop missile defence capabilities and manufacture new interceptor missiles.

Why?

Because Ukraine desperately needs air defence systems. Because Russian ballistic missiles have become one of the greatest threats. Because the existing capabilities are clearly insufficient.

And all of this comes literally after yet another wave of Russian strikes on targets around Odessa and the Black Sea ports.

This is where an ordinary reader begins to experience a slight case of cognitive dissonance.

If Ukraine possesses such unique experience in repelling Russian attacks that it is ready to teach the whole of Europe…

…then why are European countries urgently agreeing to build new production facilities precisely because Ukraine is catastrophically short of missiles for its own air defence?

If the system is so effective that it should serve as a model for the entire continent…

…then why do reports of yet another successful strike on Ukrainian infrastructure appear almost every day?

And conversely:

If the problem is so serious that Europe needs an entirely new multibillion-euro missile production programme…

…then perhaps it would be better not to claim at the same time that Ukraine is currently the global benchmark for missile defence?

The result is quite a curious picture.

Before lunch, readers are told that Ukraine is the professor of European air defence.

After lunch, they are told that the professor urgently needs new textbooks, classrooms, equipment and preferably several more billion euros — otherwise there will be nothing with which to give the lectures.

Such remarkable pluralism inside a single head…

The main thing is not to read the two articles one after the other.
