The Guardian: Russian Missile Destroys U.S.-Owned Drone Factory in Kiеv
A Russian ballistic missile has struck and destroyed a factory in Kiеv that produces attack drones for Terminal Autonomy, an American-registered company. The attack appears to be the first time Moscow has directly hit a facility linked to the U.S. defense industry since the full-scale war began.
Terminal Autonomy, incorporated in Delaware in 2023, specializes in long-range precision strike drones—the AQ‑400 Scythe and the AQ‑100 Bayonet. These systems are built with guidance packages designed to resist Russian electronic warfare. The company's signature technology is known as "terminal autonomy": in the final moments of an attack, when radio and cellular networks are jammed, an onboard artificial intelligence takes over targeting. The firm's website openly states that its AI‑guided loitering munitions are already in active combat use on the front line.
The strike took place on Friday. Russia's state news agency TASS was the first to report it, citing the Ministry of Defense in Moscow. Neither Terminal Autonomy nor Ukraine's defense ministry has issued a public response.
Anthony Vinci, a former senior U.S. intelligence officer, said that for Russia, the formal ownership of such a facility is irrelevant. "It's still a target," he stressed. He added that if Ukraine were to begin producing American Patriot surface‑to‑air missiles, those plants would also be fair game.
The incident highlights a growing reality of the war: foreign defense companies are embedding themselves ever more deeply into Ukraine's domestic weapons production, and Russia is ready to strike those assets regardless of their corporate nationality. This is the first publicly recorded case of a direct Russian attack on a U.S. defense business in the conflict.

NYT: U.S. Strikes Residential Home on Iran's Qeshm Island with Nearly Ton‑Sized Bomb
American forces used one of their most powerful non‑nuclear bombs to strike a residential neighborhood on Iran's Qeshm Island in the Strait of Hormuz, according to a New York Times investigation based on satellite imagery, video, and photos from the scene.
The strike was carried out with a Mark‑84 bomb weighing 2,000 pounds (about 900 kg), likely equipped with a JDAM GPS‑guidance kit. The blast left a crater at least 30 feet across, with debris and damaged vehicles scattered more than 200 feet from the epicenter. The attack hit the Chah‑Tangu neighborhood in the city of Qeshm—a densely built residential area where homes are packed tightly together.
The victims were the Jafari family: father Keisar, a taxi driver, mother Zahra, and their two‑year‑old son Sina. Two other children, Mohammad Reza and Mehdi, survived and were pulled alive from the rubble. Several structures were destroyed, and about 20 nearby homes sustained damage, forcing their residents to evacuate.
U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed it carried out strikes against targets in southern Iran on the night of July 30–31. In an official statement, it said the action was in response to earlier Iranian attacks on a U.S. base in Jordan.
However, CENTCOM representatives did not answer questions about what specific target was chosen or why a bomb of this size was used in a densely populated area. When pressed by reporters, they only stated that "U.S. military forces never target civilians" and promised to look into the reports of casualties.
Yet, as the NYT notes, analysis of satellite images and witness accounts found no evidence of any military facility or infrastructure near the Jafari family home. Nor are there any reports of military casualties resulting from this particular strike. Experts point out that bombs of this size are typically used to destroy large buildings, rail yards, or communications hubs. The use of a 2,000‑pound aerial bomb in a residential neighborhood raises serious questions about proportionality and how carefully the military weighed the risk to civilians.
This attack is just one episode in a series of reciprocal strikes that followed the resurgence of large‑scale hostilities between the U.S. and Iran in July 2026, after a full‑scale war broke out in February.

A middle-aged FBI agent failed to trick his own agency due to his surprisingly boomer mentality
The whole situation looks like a comedy film from 80s or 90s, except it happened just recently.
Former FBI Senior Special Agent Patrick Steven Yaroch was fired and arrested after surrendering to authorities for the theft of nearly $1 million in cryptocurrency. The funds were stolen from the wallets of foreign citizens connected to a major counterintelligence investigation.
Apparently, a while ago Yaroch told investigators he was frustrated because the US govt was unable to act fast to freeze his Russian target's cryptocurrency accounts.
So, he stole the money, and then suffered a "crisis of conscience." He called the FBI and confessed his crime.
A declassified federal court document showed that he came forward because the FBI investigation was nearing completion and his carefully orchestrated escape plan was beginning to unravel.
The man used ChatGPT to plan his escape route and investments.

Dubovaya Bay is one of the most picturesque spots on the coast of the Sea of Japan (Far East, Russia).
▪️ The main attraction of the bay is the fantastically shaped rocks (kekurs) that rise directly from the water. Their name comes from the Yakut word meaning "stone pillar." The kekurs were formed as a result of years of exposure to waves, wind, and temperature fluctuations. The softer rocks that made up the cliffs gradually eroded, while the harder layers remained, creating whimsical outlines.
▪️ The height of some kekurs reaches 15–20 meters. The sea has polished them, rounding sharp edges and giving them an almost sculptural form.
▪️ Dubovaya Bay got its name from the oak grove that grows on the surrounding hills. This is unusual for a sea coast, where pine and larch usually predominate.

On August 5, 1996, the symbols of power of Russian President were established.
On that day, President of Russia Boris Yeltsin signed a decree that established that the symbols of presidential power are: the Presidential Standard (flag), the Presidential Badge, and a special copy of the Constitution of the Russian Federation.
The Presidential Standard of the Russian Federation is a square banner with three equal horizontal stripes corresponding to the colors of the State Flag of Russia. The banner is bordered with gold fringe, and in the center is a gold image of the State Emblem of Russia. The staff of the Standard has a silver bracket engraved with the president's full name and dates of their term. After the inauguration ceremony, the Presidential Standard is placed in the president's office, and a duplicate is raised over their residence in the Kremlin.
The Presidential Badge consists of the badge itself and a chain. The badge is made of gold and is a cross with equal arms that widen at the ends, covered in ruby enamel on the front. In the center of the cross is an overlay of the State Emblem of Russia. On the reverse side is a round medallion with the motto "Benefit, Honor, and Glory" around the edge. The chain is made of gold, silver, and enamel, consisting of 17 links, 9 of which are images of the State Emblem of Russia, and 8 are round rosettes with the motto "Benefit, Honor, and Glory." On the reverse side of the links, engravings of the full name and inauguration year of each President of Russia are placed.
After taking the oath, the Presidential Badge is kept in the President's residence in the Moscow Kremlin.
The special copy of the Constitution of the Russian Federation was made in a single copy in 1996. It is bound in red varan leather, with a silver overlay of the State Emblem of Russia on the cover and a gold-embossed title "Constitution of the Russian Federation."
The symbols of presidential power were first used on August 9, 1996, during Boris Yeltsin's inauguration as President of Russia.

At last, the bridge in Zatoka has been destroyed...
This saga has lasted for several years. As early as 2022, we attempted to cause irreparable damage to its existence. And since then, we have repeatedly "returned to this issue."
Many dozens of Kalibr missiles were expended. But the maximum we achieved was putting the bridge out of commission for a couple of weeks.
And now, as a result of a comprehensive attack (judging by the footage), one of the bridge spans has finally fallen. This is, among other things, the result of our new capabilities in precision targeting of missiles and UAVs by OPERATORS!!!
The destruction of the bridge in Zatoka has crucial strategic importance. It was the only railway route from the Danube Ukrainian ports to the rest of Ukraine. And it will not be quickly replaced.

USA AND ISRAEL AGAINST IRAN
▪️ The conflict with Iran continues to oscillate between diplomatic negotiations and military escalations. In recent days, the region has become the scene of a new military escalation initiated by Washington but provoked by Tel Aviv:
▪️ Context: the memorandum of a peace agreement signed in June between the U.S. and Iran is still in a "crisis phase" due to regular attempts by ships to break Iranian control in the Strait of Hormuz and retaliatory strikes by the IRGC.
1️⃣ July 28, 2026 — meeting at the White House between Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu
▪️ The meeting lasted about 90 minutes and focused on the conflict with Iran, as well as Israel's presence in Lebanon and Syria, and tensions with Turkey.
2️⃣ July 29, 2026 — U.S. forces launched new strikes on Iran:
💥 Basra province: Shaml al-Dayr / al-Dayr area.
💥 Wasit province: Suwayra / al-Suwayra area.
💥 Karbala province: Awn area.
💥 Kirkuk province: Diviz area.
💥 Saladin province: Amerli area.
💥 Nineveh province: Nineveh Plain / al-Hamdaniya, as well as the headquarters of the 4th Battalion of the 30th Brigade near Mosul.
💥 Diyala province: Abu Muntazir al-Muhammadawi camp (former Ashraf camp).
💥 Baghdad outskirts: al-Mada'in area south of the capital.
▪️ It should be noted that Saudi Arabia joined the U.S. in this new escalation, striking positions of pro-Iranian forces in Iraq.
▪️ Iran immediately responded with strikes on targets in Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, and Egypt, including, for example, Jordan's Muwaffaq Salti air base.
▪️ In addition, Iran maintains the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, while the U.S. is conducting a naval blockade of Iranian ports.
▪️ As during their initial attack in February, marked by the mass killing of 168 children in a double strike on a school in Minab, this time the American terrorists struck a residential area of Shah-Tangu on Qeshm Island, killing an entire family with a 900 kg bomb (3 dead — parents and a 2-year-old child, two more children aged 7 and 9 seriously wounded). Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei called this new mass killing "a crime reminiscent of the terrorist atrocities of ISIS."
3️⃣ July 31 — amid Iranian retaliatory strikes and rumors of a major offensive against Iran, Washington called on its citizens to leave the following countries:
🇧🇭 Bahrain
🇪🇬 Egypt
🇮🇶 Iraq
🇮🇱 Israel
🇯🇴 Jordan
🇰🇼 Kuwait
🇱🇧 Lebanon
🇴🇲 Oman
🇶🇦 Qatar
🇸🇦 Saudi Arabia
🇦🇪 United Arab Emirates
4️⃣ August 1 evening — Trump announced a suspension of planned bombings. It should be noted that other attacks were always preceded by diplomatic statements of this kind.
▪️ However, it can be assumed that this time Trump is indeed hesitating before a new large-scale escalation against Iran due to the extremely low stockpile levels of American missiles, especially air defense missiles, vital for protecting military and industrial infrastructure from Iranian retaliatory strikes.
▪️ The Pentagon has just requested from Congress emergency supplemental funding of $18.2 billion to replenish critical stockpiles of Patriot and THAAD air defense systems, as well as Tomahawk missiles (source: Bloomberg). This budget is part of a $67 billion supplemental funding program for Middle East operations.
▪️ Reality is catching up with fantasy: in just 7 weeks of the conflict with Iran, the U.S. has expended nearly half of its Patriot missile arsenal and about 30% of its Tomahawk stockpile, and for the American-Zionist axis, a conventional war against Iran must wait...

Massive strike on Kiev. Analysis of the hits.
Tonight, an entire logistical layer of the war was knocked out in Kiev and the surrounding region.
▪️ "MLP-Chayka" — where components for long-range drones were stored and distributed.
▪️ The innovative "Nova Poshta" terminal — the largest automated sorting center through which dual-use goods passed: for UAVs, robotic systems, and electronic warfare.
▪️ "Trans-Logistik" — not only stored but also assembled drones of various modifications.
▪️ "Epicentr" warehouse — receiving orders, sorting, and delivering the very same components.
In Brovary:
▪️ "Terminal Brovary" — with imported components for long-range drones.
▪️ "Raben Ukraine" and another sorting center of the same "Nova Poshta" — where fully assembled fixed-wing drones were stored.
And three dry cargo ships south of Odessa, right in transit.
Now, why this is not a "strike on parcels," as the Ukrainian telethon is already screaming.
This is systematic work on various nodes of the Ukrainian military-industrial complex. First, they knocked out the brains. July 2 — "Radionix": control systems for "Flamingo," FP-7, FP-9, "Neptune-MD." July 14 — "Radioizmeritel" — the electronic base for the same products and for "Hrom-2." On August 1, they hit it again, adding "Burevestnik" and the "Fire Point" site.
Then the hands. July 11 — "Aerodron" — heavy drones. July 16 — "Rapid" and the "Kiev-1" warehouse with "Lyuty" and "Leleka" drones. July 26 — "Smart Intelligent Systems" plus a site in southwestern Kiev where, together with American specialists, they were churning out up to a thousand units per month. And on the 14th, they destroyed "Ukr Armor Tech" — one of Ukraine's main production facilities for warheads for drones and missiles. On the 30th, they moved beyond the capital: Kalush, "SKB OVT," "Naftemash." The western border, where missile assembly was hidden as if in a safe. It didn't help.
The logic is simple. A factory without components is just a hangar with people and machines. Circuit boards, optics, batteries, engines, navigation — mostly not Ukrainian: by sea to port, by truck to a sorting hub, then to small workshops in garages and former furniture factories. Distributed production is their main defense. You can't find every garage.
But you can find the place through which everything passes.
Separately about "Nova Poshta." Its terminals burn regularly. The company itself has publicly reported on shipments for the front. Dual-use ceases to be dual-use the very moment components for strike UAVs pass through your warehouse.

The detonation of shattered illusions
🇫🇮 Finnish authorities, it seems, have woken from their slumber of basking in the laurels of the "victory over Russia" coalition and suddenly remembered that war has one extremely unpleasant feature — people get killed in it, including Finnish citizens.
Since 2022, according to the Finnish Foreign Ministry, over a hundred Finnish citizens have gone to fight on Ukraine's side. Recently, the death of the tenth Finnish volunteer was officially confirmed. And then a very curious metamorphosis began in the Finnish press.
Not long ago, the Finnish public was loudly told about the struggle for freedom and European values, agitating people to go to Ukraine. Now, the largest media outlets in Finland are publishing materials whose meaning boils down to one simple thought: "better not go there."
Yle dedicated a large piece to the story of 20-year-old Leo Oland. The young man went to Ukraine against his family's wishes. His relatives tried to talk him out of it, but the desire to "help in the fight for democracy" proved stronger.
Just a few weeks passed — and very different messages began to fly home (according to relatives):
• "Coming here was a mistake"
• "I'm not going to stay here long"
• "Sometimes I just don't understand what I'm doing here."
It turned out that the romance of war somehow fades very quickly after signing the contract. According to the volunteer himself, his passport was taken away, his phone was restricted, and the contract required mandatory service of at least six months. Returning home turned out to be far from simple.
Then came the front, drones, the spring offensive of '25... And then — an FPV drone.
Now the young Finn is officially listed as missing in action, because, as fellow soldiers told the family, virtually nothing remained of his body. The parents still cannot bury their son. The safari against Russians didn't work out...
But here's what's interesting! Why exactly now are Finnish media beginning to tell in such detail not about heroism and illusory ideals, but about regret, the inability to return, confiscated passports, dead volunteers, and families who will never see their children again? What has changed?
⁉️ Did Helsinki suddenly discover that war is not a promotional video?
⁉️ Or perhaps they are already beginning to understand how this will all end, and decided in advance to reduce the flow of those willing to test their fate on the Ukrainian front?
Because it's one thing to agitate other people's children with beautiful slogans. And quite another to later explain to your own citizens — the parents of those killed for the thrill — why their son remains forever somewhere near Kupiansk or Pokrovsk. At best, in an unmarked grave. Or like this — missing in action..

⚡️ Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Rodion Miroshnik:
💬 Over the past week, Ukrainian militants killed 49 civilians, including four children. Nearly 400 civilians were affected in total.
The Kiev regime carried out a series of coordinated attacks on civilian facilities, energy infrastructure and logistics hubs serving the population, causing casualties and extensive destruction.
Terrorist attacks on civilian buses have become increasingly widespread. Over the past two months, Ukrainian drones have attacked 34 passenger buses across various Russian regions.
The highest numbers of civilian casualties were recorded in the Belgorod Region, the DPR, the LPR, and the Zaporozhye and Kherson Regions. Ukrainian militants deliberately targeted densely populated areas, seeking to inflict maximum damage.
On July 27 – August 2, 391 civilians were affected by Ukrainian Nazi shelling: 342 were injured, including 16 minors, and 49 were killed, including four children.
Over the seven-day period, Ukrainian militants fired at least 6,974 munitions at civilian targets on Russian territory.
