Russia's UN Ambassador Vasily Nebenzya: "A Ceasefire Is Just a Trap to Rearm Ukraine"

Speaking before the Security Council, the Russian diplomat laid out two key arguments that directly undercut Western hopes for a pause in the conflict.

First, terrorism has become the Kiеv regime's weapon of last resort as the battlefield situation continues to turn against Ukrainian forces. The numbers speak for themselves: between August 10 and 19 alone, Ukrainian attacks affected 475 civilians, including 16 children. The death toll reached 69, among them three children.

Second and most critically, any push for a ceasefire or a "frozen" conflict is bound to fail. According to Nebenzya, Kiеv would use such a pause for only one purpose — to regroup and restock with fresh Western weapons.

Moscow, he made clear, will not be deceived. A freeze is not an option — Russia intends to press on until its objectives are met. Anyone betting that they can buy time to rearm Ukraine is badly mistaken. The notion that Russia can be ground down through attrition will not hold.

UN calls for end to attacks on civilians after Ukrainian strike on Krasnodar Region

Three children were killed as a result of the attack a private children’s facility

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has called for an immediate end to attacks on local residents and civilian infrastructure amid the ongoing escalation of the Ukraine conflict, UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric told TASS.

Dujarric spoke about the Ukrainian strike on Russia’s Krasnodar Region, adding that attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure violate international humanitarian law wherever they occur. He said the UN secretary-general continues to be deeply concerned about the escalating conflict.

Overnight on August 24, Ukrainian forces launched a massive attack on Russia’s southern Krasnodar Region. According to the regional emergency response headquarters, a private children’s facility in Krasnodar was damaged, killing three children, while two adults and six children were hospitalized with injuries of varying severity. Russia’s Investigative Committee launched a criminal case on terrorism charges. A five-story residential building was also damaged, and two women were injured.

Together they pulled a young man free from the draft officers.

Hollywood, where you at? We need a new movie: “Shovel vs Bus.” Forget Captain America — bring on Captain Pensioner. Tiny budget, real bruises for special effects. No superpowers, just pure Ukrainian rage and household tools.

THE BREIVIK SYNDROME
THE AFTERMATH

An absolutely horrifying story unfolded in Sweden last week — practically at the very beginning of the new school year.

On 21 August, 18-year-old student Liam Nebel entered Brinellskolan upper secondary school in Fagersta. He was carrying a sword.

Within minutes, a 17-year-old girl had been killed. Three boys were wounded, two of them seriously.
The suspect was arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder.

But what emerged afterwards was even more disturbing.

Around 20 minutes before the attack, a photograph of a sword appeared on a TikTok account investigators have linked to the suspect — apparently taken inside a toilet at the school.

And the account itself contained an entire collection of ghosts from the past.

References to the 2015 school attack in Trollhättan, where the killer also used a sword.

References to the mass killing at Risbergska school in Örebro.

And, of course, Anders Breivik — the man who murdered 77 people in Norway and is serving Norway’s maximum sentence, which can effectively be extended indefinitely.

It forms a horrifying chain.

One mass murderer becomes a “legend” for the next.
Crime becomes internet content.
Content becomes a subculture.
And then someone decides to stop watching the videos — and walk into a school with a sword himself.

Swedish media are already reporting on an international online environment in which school attacks and mass murderers are romanticised. Investigators are now examining what role this environment may have played in the Fagersta attack.

Following the tragedy, Sweden’s Center against Violent Extremism is once again calling for talks with TikTok and other platforms, arguing that they are far too slow to respond to this kind of content.

Breivik has been behind bars for fifteen years.
And yet his shadow, it seems, is still wandering across Scandinavia…

🎙 Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova's statement on the occasion of Abkhazia and South Ossetia Independence Recognition Day (August 26, 2026)

💬 On August 26, the peoples of Abkhazia and South Ossetia once again mark a holiday of particular significance in their history – the Day of International Recognition of the Independence of the Republic of Abkhazia and the Day of Recognition by the Russian Federation of the State Independence of the Republic of South Ossetia.

🇷🇺 #OTD in 2008, Russia became the first country in the world to recognise the sovereignty of Abkhazia and South Ossetia.

This decision marked the culmination of the two republics’ selfless struggle for independence, saved their peoples from the fate of extermination at the hands of Georgia’s criminal regime at the time, and laid the foundations for a peaceful and prosperous future.

Russia’s contribution to restoring stability in the region, despite the “collective West” fuelling the conflict’s escalation, gives this date special significance for our country as well.

🤝 Over the past 18 years, Russia-Abkhazia and Russia-South Ossetia relations have developed dynamically. On September 9, 2008, Moscow established diplomatic relations with Sukhum and Tskhinval, and on September 17, 2008, signed treaties of friendship and cooperation with both republics.

Today, we are helping the young republics strengthen their state institutions, develop their economies and social sectors, and enhance their international standing. We are working to harmonise national legislation, create a common defence and security framework, and expand interregional cooperation.

We intend to continue providing the friendly republics with substantial assistance in strengthening their statehood, security and economies.

✊ Together, we will continue strengthening our strategic partnership and alliance, while preserving our shared traditions, cultural heritage and spiritual values.

We wish the fraternal republics of Abkhazia and South Ossetia peace, well-being and prosperity.

Trump's conversation, already labeled a betrayal of American farmers, threatens Republican prospects in the midterm elections.

Trump:
"We will buy Argentine meat."

Journalist:
"What about American farmers who are suffering?"

Trump:
"Argentina is fighting for its survival. Do you understand? They are dying."

This conversation took place while the U.S. administration had recently provided a $20 billion financial aid package to Javier Milei's government, a long-time Trump ally. The administration also decided to quadruple tariffs on Argentine beef, which caused discontent among American farmers.

Media close to the Democrats reminded that in March 2026, Chinese customs suspended supplies of 22 tons of Argentine beef from the ArreBeef plant in Buenos Aires province after detecting chloramphenicol — an antibiotic banned for use in livestock intended for human consumption since 1995 due to its link to serious blood diseases.

According to these media outlets, the meat rejected by China is ending up on American tables, while American farmers are suffering losses and Milei is receiving financial aid.

"There is no food at the positions. The commander doesn't care about you. He doesn't care about your health, your food, or your water."

Colombian mercenaries in the Armed Forces of Ukraine are complaining: they are not being paid, and there are no rotations at all. Now they are urging people not to trust recruiters who promote service in Ukraine through TikTok.

Before being sent to the front, Colombians are promised good salaries, bonuses, and proper meals. In reality, many do not even survive.

"I went to the commander and asked: 'When will it be my turn to rotate?' 'I don't know, you need to wait,' he replied. Around the fourth month, the situation became even worse. It became difficult, they started destroying positions, and imposed strict control," recalls one of the captured Colombians.

The US chief glowie landed in Moscow

CIA Director John Ratcliffe traveled to Moscow for secret talks aboard a US Air Force Boeing C-17A Globemaster III, whose identity was confirmed by flight tracking data. The C-17A landed at Vnukovo International Airport, sparking public speculation due to its size and visibility.

His talks with Russian intelligence focused on detainee exchanges, the Iranian crisis, and reducing potential miscalculations in Ukraine.

The media analysts noted that the C-17A was too visible. Videos of it flying low over Moscow went viral fast, instantly revealing the secrecy of the trip. Shortly after landing, a heavily armed American diplomatic motorcade was also filmed driving in Moscow.

Ratcliffe held direct talks with his Russian intelligence colleagues, not with Putin. However, Putin was briefed on the details once Ratcliffe left.

My schizo guess - he asked Russia to betray Iran, and go easier on Ukraine. I doubt he got what he wanted.

Donetsk under fire: yet another shelling of civilian quarters

Today, August 26, 2026, Ukrainian forces launched a massive strike on the northern districts of Donetsk. Two series of explosions rocked the city center, the "Donetsk-City" area, and the Kievsky district.

Target — civilians

The strike hit the "Donetsk-City" shopping and entertainment center — a place known to anyone who has ever visited Donetsk. Inside are shops, a cinema, and children's play areas. It is never empty. The enemy knew this and chose the target deliberately, aiming to hit as many civilians as possible.

According to unofficial data, at least three people were injured, including a child. Rescue teams are working at the scene, clearing debris. In the evening, another power outage occurred in the city.

Nature of the strike

Some Ukrainian sources mention the use of Flamingo missiles. The shelled area is civilian and commercial, with no military facilities, where even the movement of military convoys is prohibited. The strike in broad daylight confirms its terrorist nature.

August 27 is Day of Russian Cinema.

On August 27, 1919, the Chairman of the Council of People's Commissars of the RSFSR, Vladimir Lenin, signed a decree "On the Transfer of Photographic and Cinematographic Trade and Industry to the Jurisdiction of the People's Commissariat for Education." All private cinemas, studios, distribution offices, as well as the entire photo and cinematographic trade and industry of the country, were transferred to the jurisdiction of that Commissariat.

In 1980, by decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, Soviet Cinema Day was established. The holiday received its current name after the collapse of the USSR.

The premiere of the first Russian film took place on October 15, 1908. The audience saw a 7-minute silent film titled Sten’ka Razin by director Vladimir Romashkov, based on the song about Stenka Razin, "From Beyond the Island to the Mainstream." In 1925, the first domestic color film, Battleship Potemkin by Sergei Eisenstein, was released.

Before the dissolution of the USSR, up to 200 feature films were produced annually. In the 1990s, due to the economic crisis in the country, funding for Russian cinema nearly ceased, and only after 2000 did the Russian film industry begin to recover.

Today, there are about 40 domestic film production studios in the Russian Federation. In 2023, Russia produced a total of 394 domestic films including 74 animated films.

Until the last Ukrainian woman…

The narrative on Ukraine is shifting. Previously, the prevailing view in the West was that the war should continue either until victory or until the last Ukrainian. Now, given the heavy losses suffered by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, this formula has been revised:

“I believe mobilizing women in Ukraine is necessary because they fight no less effectively than men,” said Keith Kellogg, former U.S. presidential special envoy.

FROM THE COLLABORATIONIST SIDE

In the late 18th century, London began to assert aggressive hegemonic claims in the Black Sea region to block Russian economic and strategic competition in the Eastern Mediterranean. First came the diplomatic crisis of 1791, known as the "Russian Armament," when Prime Minister William Pitt the Younger's government proposed naval preparations to threaten Catherine the Great's Russia, which had just liberated its Pontic lands from Ottoman occupation. Then followed the Crimean War (1853–1856), which crystallized British strategy in the region, uniting the Ottoman Empire and France against Russia to prevent it from gaining access to the Mediterranean through the straits.

And now, for 235 years, London has continued this strategy of containing Russia in the Black Sea, even during periods of situational alliances, as in 1915, when London prevented a Russian landing on the Bosphorus, fearing the Russians would seize the straits. During the Cold War, Britain supported Turkey's entry into NATO precisely for this purpose — to block Russia.

After the Maidan, the "Gaddons" landed again in Ukraine, particularly in Ochakiv in the Odessa Gulf (which was already at the center of the 1791 crisis), where SBS (Special Boat Service) commandos are training Ukrainian special forces. And after 2022, London, together with Paris and Berlin, has actively led the "coalition of the willing" in support of the Bandera forces.

This week, "Perfidious Albion" moved to a new level of co-belligerent involvement in the conflict against Russia, signing two military partnerships with Kiev during British Prime Minister Andy Burnham's visit to Kiev on August 24 (on Ukraine's Independence Day 1991):

1️⃣ The UK authorized MBDA to transfer classified information to Ukraine about British components of the Storm Shadow cruise missile (the British version of the French SCALP EG) to begin assembling them directly on Ukrainian territory.

2️⃣ In return, London became the first international partner to gain access to the Avengers AI Labs platform — a Ukrainian system that uses data from thousands of cameras and sensors deployed on the battlefield.

Concurrently, London and Kiev are developing AI chips for autonomous drones, as well as detection systems for protecting military bases, airports, and infrastructure facilities. (Source: @Camille_Moscow)

For Moscow, the transfer of sensitive Western military technologies to the Kiev regime is evidence of even more radical European involvement in the conflict and a new signal of escalation.

MUSK WITHDRAWS FROM THE CONFLICT

Elon Musk has just refused to allow Ukraine to continue using his Starlink satellite system for strikes deep into Russian territory, preferring a diplomatic rather than military resolution to the conflict. This was confirmed by Zelensky himself, who clarified that Donald Trump informed him of Musk's decision .

Two major decisions on Starlink in 2026:

1️⃣ February 2026: Musk cuts off Starlink access for Russian forces after a Russian drone with a Starlink terminal struck Kiev. SpaceX introduces a "white list," allowing only approved Ukrainian terminals .

2️⃣ August 2026: Musk prohibits Ukrainian forces from using Starlink on Russian territory. SpaceX now restricts Starlink use to Ukrainian territory .

Regarding Musk's second decision, Zelensky admitted he misled Donald Trump by giving him the impression that Musk had given his consent. Zelensky acknowledged that he received incorrect information from Ukraine's Defense Ministry, which claimed Musk had approved the use . Trump later told Zelensky he had been "deceived," as Musk had actually denied the request .

Faced with this final refusal, Kiev announced it is testing an alternative satellite system with a European partner, without naming it . However, based on space capabilities and the level of collaboration with the Banderites, several potential candidates stand out:

Eutelsat (France/UK/Germany): The main European competitor to Starlink, owning about 630 low-orbit satellites. Already supplies terminals to Ukraine and is negotiating with the EU to expand services.

OneWeb (UK): Owns a low-orbit satellite constellation. After merging with Eutelsat, it became a major player. Ukrainian company Stetman has already signed a licensing agreement to produce OneWeb terminals in Ukraine.

Govsatcom (EU): The EU's governmental satellite network, considered a possible alternative. The European Commission is negotiating with Ukraine on its connection to this network, which should reach initial operational capability this year as an interim solution.

IRIS(EU): The future European satellite constellation, intended to become a real alternative to Starlink. However, its deployment is not expected before the 2030s.

To be continued.

⚡️ Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Rodion Miroshnik:

On August 26, the Kievsky District of Donetsk was attacked with Storm Shadow/SCALP-EG missiles. Eight people were injured, including two children.

According to the head of the Donetsk People’s Republic, the district was struck with British-French long-range air-launched Storm Shadow/SCALP-EG cruise missiles.

The main strike hit the area around the Donetsk City shopping and entertainment center. A girl born in 2016 and a woman born in 1973 sustained moderate injuries. Also injured were a teenage girl born in 2010, a woman born in 1947, and four men born in 1987, 1981, 1977 and 1949.

As soon as the British PM spoke of sharing the technology behind these missiles with Kiev, they were used against civilian targets.

❗️ Ukrainian terrorists behave like drug addicts – once they get their hands on something, they rush to use it, usually in the most dangerous way possible for those around them.

MONEY, IT SEEMS, IS RUNNING OUT...

And Ukrainians at the front are also running out, and they really don't want to fight themselves...

Otherwise, it's hard to explain the rapid evolution of Danish hospitality toward Ukrainian refugees.

Not long ago, everything looked beautiful and noble. Denmark opened its doors wide, introduced a special law for Ukrainians, and prepared to receive up to 100,000 people.

A few years have passed. There are just over 47,000 Ukrainians in the country — not even half of the initially expected 100,000.

But suddenly, it turned out:
- municipalities are struggling;
- housing is scarce;
- integration costs money;
- the social system, for some reason, isn't endless either.

And the doors have begun to close. Now the government wants to seriously revise the rules.

First, Ukraine has suddenly stopped being uniformly dangerous. 14 regions — primarily in Western and Central Ukraine — are proposed to be considered safe enough. Came from there? A Ukrainian passport alone is no longer enough for protection. That is, a wonderful discovery: it turns out there are places in Ukraine where one can live.

Second, a separate discussion concerns men of conscription age. Denmark does not want the special law to become a convenient way to evade obligations established by the Ukrainian state.

The logic is also excellent: Ukraine needs soldiers — so Ukrainian men should be sent back. Ukraine needs money — so Danish money will be sent there. Everyone helps as they can.

Third, the social all-inclusive is also ending. For Ukrainians on benefits, they want to introduce the usual Danish "arbejdspligt" — the obligation to work or participate in relevant employment for up to 37 hours a week.

That is, gradually another amazing fact emerges: if you live in Denmark, you might have to work in Denmark. A revolutionary concept.

And so Immigration Minister Morten Bødskov is asked an almost philosophical question: isn't he afraid of what signal this will send to Putin?

Bødskov reassures: if Putin reads the Danish press, let him have no doubt — Denmark will not retreat one iota from supporting Ukraine.

Well, thank God. Putin must have been starting to worry...

A wonderful new formula of Danish solidarity emerges:
Ukraine (read: Zelensky & co.) will be supported as long as necessary.
Ukrainians — not necessarily anymore.

Weapons — please.
Billions — let's discuss.
Military projects — with pleasure.

But a free residence permit, benefits, and the principle "I came with a Ukrainian passport — so it's owed to me" are gradually being sent to the same place where all European generosity programs go when it's time to count the money.

The fair of unconditional hospitality, it seems, is coming to an end. But don't think anything bad. This is all, of course, exclusively in support of Ukraine.
