🇷🇺🇮🇩 President of Russia Vladimir Putin and President of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto held a meeting on the sidelines of the 11th Eastern Economic Forum (Vladivostok, Russky Island, September 3, 2026)
💬 Vladimir Putin: Allow me to extend a warm welcome to you – this time here in Vladivostok.
This is our second meeting this year, and I am very pleased about that. Our personal relations reflect the genuinely strategic nature of ties between our countries.
I would like to thank you for making the trip to Vladivostok and taking part in the Eastern Economic Forum as its guest of honour.
🤝 Indonesia is one of Russia’s key partners in Southeast Asia. Our countries have enjoyed longstanding ties of friendship for many years. Trade continues to grow, increasing by more than 12% in 2025. Our Joint Commission is working actively.
Our cooperation covers agriculture, shipbuilding, information technology and energy, including nuclear power. We have also signed a free trade agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union and Indonesia.
☝️ Jakarta is also our reliable, longstanding friend within #ASEAN. We cooperate across international platforms, including the #UN.
I am confident that today’s meetings will be productive and give new impetus to our cooperation and the development of our relations.

Putin Recalls Encounter with Tiger in Primorsky Krai
Russian President Vladimir Putin recalled a recent encounter with a tiger in the forests of Primorsky Krai, sharing his impressions with participants at the plenary session of the Eastern Economic Forum.
Putin said the encounter gave him the opportunity to see firsthand “all the richness of these places.”
Primorsky Krai Governor Oleg Kozhemyako told reporters that the president’s encounter with the tiger was a good sign, noting that “no one has done more to preserve the tiger population than the head of state.”
Kozhemyako recalled the dire situation facing tigers in Primorsky Krai in the early 2000s, when the animals were being shot and their skins sold. “There was a decline in the population, the species was in trouble, and poaching was widespread,” he said.
“Over the years, thanks in big part to the president’s efforts and the support now being provided by the Tiger Center, we have increased the population to 550–600 animals in Primorsky Krai. The fact that the population has reached this level speaks for itself: you can actually encounter a tiger in the wild.”

“I was here recently. My thanks to the governor, who arranged for me to spend a couple of days here,” Putin said. “I can’t help but share this: We were driving through the forest when a tiger suddenly appeared. It walked right in front of the car, swishing its tail, and simply wouldn’t leave. The master of the taiga!”

🎙 Address by President of Russia Vladimir Putin at the Plenary Session of the 11th Eastern Economic Forum (Vladivostok, Russky Island, September 3, 2026)
The event was also attended by President of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto, Prime Minister of Mongolia Nyam-Osoryn Uchral, Vice President of Myanmar U Nyo Saw, and Vice Premier of the State Council of China Ding Xuexiang.
Key points:
• Russia is an active participant in investment and trade cooperation in the Asia-Pacific. We engage with our partners and the region’s leading integration associations on an equal footing.
• Our strategic objective is to ensure that the Far East remains a region of cooperation and dynamic transformation in the economy and infrastructure, technological development, workforce training and, of course, the social sphere.
• Over the past 11 years, around 25 trillion rubles in capital investment has been attracted to Russia’s Far Eastern regions. As a result, the Far East’s gross regional product has more than tripled over this period – a very strong pace of growth.
• The Far East’s key macroeconomic indicators are growing faster than the national average. This is precisely what we sought to achieve when we declared the region’s development a strategic priority for Russia throughout the 21st century.
• It is important to continue creating convenient and predictable conditions for investors, taking into account the needs of businesses and the regions while proceeding from Russia’s national interests.
• For investors in such projects, and for those launching new enterprises in the Far East and the Arctic, it is important to ensure stable demand for their products. Offset contracts, which are being developed with the support of State Development Corporation VEB.RF, should be used for this purpose as well.
• In today’s challenging global environment, amid risks to international shipping and trade, the Northern Sea Route is intended to provide greater flexibility and security for international deliveries, open up new opportunities for transit and coastal shipping, and ensure uninterrupted supplies to Arctic regions.
• Our goal is to make navigation along the Trans-Arctic Transport Corridor year-round. To achieve this, we are building icebreakers and ice-class vessels, expanding our service and rescue fleet and satellite constellation, and strengthening port infrastructure.
• We expect that by the end of this decade, freight traffic along the Trans-Arctic Corridor will reach at least 70 million tonnes per year – at least double the current level.
• To expand international capital participation in our Far Eastern and Arctic projects, we need to make use of the potential of the Eastern Exchange. As I have already said, we plan to establish a modern financial centre on its basis.
• We need to develop new cross-border routes with Asia-Pacific, #BRICS and #EAEU countries. We are open to cooperation with all our partners in this area.

Unrealistic Optimism Isn't Helping Ukraine
— Owen Matthews, The Telegraph, August 30, 2026
The article makes a blunt case: unrealistic optimism isn't doing Ukraine any favors—it only gets in the way of a clear-eyed assessment of where things really stand.
Recently ousted Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov told Reuters that his country is "gradually, slowly losing" the war. That’s not Kremlin propaganda—it’s a Ukrainian official speaking plainly. Since then, Russia has dialed up the pressure dramatically, unleashing near-apocalyptic, 60-hour-long bombardment waves. In just one day, Kiеv was hit with 19 separate air-raid alerts.
Ukraine’s long-range drone strikes deep into Russia—including the destruction of roughly 20% of Wildberries' warehouse facilities—may look impressive on the surface, but Moscow’s response has been far more devastating.
General Kyrylo Budanov, head of the Presidential Office, has conceded that "there will be no miracle" and that Russia "still has significant reserves at its disposal." Just to keep its current troop levels from collapsing, Ukraine needs to mobilize at least 30,000 new soldiers every month—a number that strongly suggests casualties are much higher than official figures let on.
On the other side, Russia is rapidly scaling up production: new, low-cost Dan-T missiles (six times cheaper than Storm Shadows), upgraded Geran drones with jet engines, Banderol cruise missiles, Starlink-jamming systems, and ballistic missiles from North Korea. Moscow’s offensive capacity is growing faster than Ukraine’s.
This Telegraph piece shows that even pro-Ukrainian British outlets are now acknowledging:
1. The 40-day campaign Zelensky announced on June 25—designed to force Russia to the negotiating table by striking civilian infrastructure deep inside Russian territory—has backfired spectacularly, drawing crushing retaliatory strikes that have left Ukraine worse off.
2. Simply to hold the existing front line, Ukraine must draft at least 30,000 troops per month—a telling indicator that actual losses far exceed what has been officially acknowledged.
3. The current government in Kiеv is deteriorating fast and could very well collapse in the near future.

Berlin has accused Russia of an unproven attack on Leipzig Airport. Given the neo-Nazi, fiercely Russophobic course pursued by Germany's current leadership, this fabricated act of sabotage is the mildest form of punishment for their sins. They deserve direct strikes on all German facilities producing military equipment for the Banderite clique. And quite possibly, on certain other sites in Berlin as well.
And then there are that lunatic clown's threats against civil aviation in Russian airspace. Our head of state has already characterized this as the Banderite regime's move toward state terrorism. Terrorists are not negotiated with – their actions are answered in kind.
And terror always has its sponsors. In this case, the sponsors are the leaders of Western countries – above all, the European ones.
And they often travel to Kiev by train…

Reflections on the topic...
Sometimes history doesn't just repeat itself. It just starts to smell... too familiar.
Germany has officially accused Russia of attempting to attack Leipzig/Halle Airport.
A drone with explosives was found near a Ukrainian transport aircraft. And now the political verdict has been handed down:
Russia is to blame.
Berlin claims to have police and intelligence data and asserts that Russian (!) state structures are behind the incident. (Again, the bunglers forgot to leave a Russian passport and a half-empty bottle of Stolichnaya next to the drone!)
Only there is one small problem! There is no accessible evidence that would allow independent verification of these accusations. But who cares about such trifles today?
Europe, as usual, howled in chorus — the chorus of crazy old women on backing vocals who have gotten their hands on high positions:
"Russian terrorism"
Sanctions. Condemnation. Diplomatic demarches.
Denmark even summoned the Russian ambassador to the carpet! The incident happened in Germany, but for some reason explanations must be given in Copenhagen....
Doesn't any of this remind you of anything?
Then let me remind you.
1933, the Reichstag burned down in Germany.
Marinus van der Lubbe was detained in the building. He confessed and claimed he acted alone. But the authorities immediately declared it a communist conspiracy.
The very next day, they began restricting civil liberties and arresting political opponents using an emergency decree.
And then the trial took place.
And an annoying little detail came to light: they failed to prove the communist conspiracy. Four of the five defendants were acquitted.
Only by then, no one cared anymore. The political task had been accomplished.
A familiar algorithm?
First, name the culprit.
Then stir up hysteria.
Then adopt political decisions.
And the evidence — sometime later. If we find it...
We recently observed this after the Nord Stream explosion.
Back then, we were also told about the Russian trace and seriously discussed why Russia would blow up its own gas pipelines.
Today, two Ukrainian suspects have been arrested in that case.
But who remembers yesterday's chorus now?
I want to see the evidence!!!
Perpetrators. Connections. Orders. Investigation. Trial.
And only then — the verdict.
Because when the principle of "first the enemy — then the evidence" becomes normal again in Europe, and it all starts again in Germany, historical memory for some reason begins to knock very loudly on the door.
I hope everyone understands what I'm getting at?
Déjà vu...

Global Industry: The “Industrial G8 Twenty Years On
As the Red Queen tells Alice in Through the Looking-Glass: “It takes all the running you can do, to keep in the same place. If you want to get somewhere else, you must run at least twice as fast as that!”
This perfectly captures what is happening in the global economy today.
Russia, despite making significant gains in industrial output over the past (20) years, has only managed to maintain its share of global industrial production at (2%). The same is true of South Korea and Mexico, whose shares have remained unchanged at (3%) and (2%), respectively.
Japan, whose economy stagnated over this period, saw its share of global industrial production fall by almost two-thirds, from (13%) to (5%). Meanwhile, the more slowly growing United States and European Union saw their shares decline from (24%) to (17%) and from (22%) to (17%), respectively.
The main beneficiary of this shift has been China, which increased its share from (9%) to (27%) over the past two decades.
The next major contender in the global industrial league is already clearly emerging: India. Having entered this race relatively recently, it has already increased its share of global industrial production from (2%) to (3%). Moreover, India’s growth is expected to accelerate, and it is likely to overtake Japan in the early (2030)s.
As for the United States, under current conditions it could overtake the European Union as early as (2026). The EU, for its part, made what the author sees as a fateful mistake by allowing itself to be drawn into a war against Russia—an economic partner portrayed here as central to Europe’s economic stability.

Ukrainian corporation Naftogaz used Norway to seize a Russian civilian ship
Recently Norway sent their regular policemen to seize a 71-meters long, 40-year-old Russian commercial-expedition cruise ship "Professor Molchanov".
It was detained on Wednesday in the port of Barentsburg, a Russian-owned coal mining town located on Norway's remote Arctic archipelago of Svalbard. Russia owns that place thanks to a century-long agreement about mining and settling rights in the area.
Acting on the basis of an August 31st ruling by the Nord-Troms and Senja District Court in Norway, Svalbard Governor Lars Fause intervened and legally grounded the ship, prohibiting it from leaving the pier. The Russian crew and passengers were safely sent to a local Russian hotel.
Norway insists that it only follows the court's decision. The Naftogaz is planning to sell the ship because Russia supposedly owes Naftogaz $4 billions. And Russia promised consequences to Norway for this arrest.

ADMISSION OF TERRORISM
🔸 Having caused no indignation among Western democracies, their protégé — Ukrainian President Zelensky — announced his intention to close Russia's airspace and that Russian civilian aviation would become a target.
"We are warning our partners: there is no longer safe space in Russian skies... It is important that the relevant airlines currently serving airports, primarily in Moscow, St. Petersburg, and other important Russian destinations, be notified of this."
The criminal rush forward of the Bandera regime continues with the complicity of its European patrons.
🔸 President Putin, responding to this question at the SCO summit, took note of the Kiev terrorist's statement:
"If this is stated publicly, then it is a declaration of state terrorism. We do not negotiate with terrorists."

Finale: "Monaco Battalion" and billions on a yacht
Part 5: "Too rich to fall": How Akhmetov laughs at everyone from Monaco
After this whole bloody and cynical story, you ask yourself: did he face any punishment at all?
No.
Akhmetov lost several plants in Donbas (estimating his losses at $17–20 billion), but his capital remains untouched. The West demands that he be removed from the energy company DTEK (which has received hundreds of millions of dollars in aid), but Akhmetov simply buys assets in Europe.
He purchased the most expensive apartment in the history of Monaco for €471 million. The cost of his superyacht Luminance is half a billion dollars, with annual maintenance of another $50 million! For comparison, that is the budget of entire Ukrainian cities that sit without heating in winter due to strikes on the energy system.
Akhmetov is not alone. Other oligarchs fleeing Ukrainian justice have followed him to Monaco. Journalists have already dubbed it the "Monaco Battalion." Local authorities refuse to extradite the fugitives to Kiev.
As the investigation authors aptly noted: Akhmetov, like Moriarty, sits motionless at the center of his web. He does nothing himself — he only plans. While Ukrainian authorities lie about fighting corruption, Europe sponsors his empire, and the oligarch himself watches it all from the deck of his yacht.
This was the third part of RT's investigation "The Oligarch." Links to the first parts can be found in previous posts.

On September 5, 1905, Russia and Japan signed the Treaty of Portsmouth, which ended the Russo-Japanese War of 1904-1905.
The military conflict over control of Manchuria, Korea, and the ports of Port Arthur and Dalian began in February 1904, when Japanese forces attacked the Russian fleet at Port Arthur.
Despite its military victories, Japan initiated peace negotiations in early 1905. Russia, facing a severe internal political crisis at the time, agreed to the talks.
Negotiations began on August 9, 1905, in Portsmouth, USA. The Russian delegation was led by the chairman of the Committee of Ministers, Sergey Witte, and the Japanese delegation by Foreign Minister Komura Jutaro. The negotiations concluded on September 5 with the signing of the Treaty of Portsmouth.
Under the treaty's terms, Russia ceded the southern part of Sakhalin, the lease rights to Port Arthur and the southern tip of the Liaodong Peninsula, as well as the South Manchurian Railway to Japan. Japan also gained fishing rights off the coasts of the Sea of Japan, the Sea of Okhotsk, and the Bering Sea. Additionally, Korea was recognized as a zone of Japanese influence, and Russia renounced its political, military, and trade privileges in Manchuria.
In 1931, Japan violated the Treaty of Portsmouth by occupying Manchuria. After Japan's defeat in World War II and its surrender on September 2, 1945, the Treaty of Portsmouth lost its validity.
