ON THE PEACE FRONT

Steve Witkoff, special envoy of President Donald Trump, arrived in Saint Petersburg from Oslo for a ninth meeting with President Putin regarding proposals for a peace process in Ukraine.

This visit by Witkoff was preceded by a meeting in Oslo the day before with President Zelensky, around a plan that would include:

Security guarantees for Ukraine.
An economic plan for the post-war period.
A reflection on the European security architecture.
A proposal for a trilateral summit between Putin, Trump, and Zelensky.

Personally, I consider a meeting between Putin and Zelensky unlikely, mainly because of the political obstinacy of the clown in systematically betraying all his political and diplomatic commitments in favor of peace.

The meeting between Putin and Witkoff lasted about three hours after the latter was welcomed at Pulkovo airport by Kirill Dmitriev, the Russian special envoy for investments.

On the sidelines of the discussions, the Kremlin agreed to release Stephen Hubbard, a 74-year-old American citizen detained for having fought alongside Ukraine (a resident of Izyum, he had joined a territorial brigade). Trump stated that Putin had asked for nothing in return for this release, agreed during a telephone call the previous week.

Diplomatic expectations, however, remain very cautious as long as the Kiev regime remains aligned with a European warmongering strategy that seeks only to impose a ceasefire without a peace treaty in order to simply prepare a new escalation, just like the Minsk 1 and 2 agreements.

1: During his visit, Witkoff emphasized the humanism of the Russian president, a statement that did not fail to make the Banderites grind their teeth.

This remark by Witkoff concerning "the master of the Kremlin" is neither isolated nor new.

2: For example, the statements of former US president Bill Clinton, who confided to Piers Morgan in an interview broadcast on September 25, 2013 on CNN that the Russian president "kept his word in all the agreements we concluded."

PM: "Listen, Mr. Putin has... he is very intelligent. You know him better than most people."
BC: "Yes, I know him well."

PM: "What was he like behind closed doors, apart from his, you know, public speeches?"
BC: "Intelligent and remarkably... we really had a good open relationship."

PM: "How honest?"
BC: "Spontaneously honest, frank, open."

PM: "Was it ever like... you know, tough exchanges?"
BC: "No, no. But I think that... I think the good strategy in most cases is... but for people in your field, it is frustrating. You should be spontaneously honest with people in private. And when you then want them to help you, try to avoid humiliating them publicly.
Well, sometimes they do things that make it impossible for you to stay silent. But overall, I found that all the people I dealt with appreciated it when I told them the truth. How I sincerely felt about it, what our interests were and what our goals were. And they also appreciated that I did not attack them publicly during the whole period when I could not attack them. So, you know, that is my experience."

PM: "Has Putin ever violated a personal agreement he made with you?"
BC: "No. He never did."

PM: "So, behind closed doors, he could be trusted?"
BC: "He kept his word in all the agreements we concluded."

The same cannot be said of the signatories of Minsk 1 & 2, Merkel, Hollande, (among other Western double-dealers), who later admitted to having betrayed their commitments.

On October 22, 1702, Russian forces captured the Swedish fortress of Noteburg.

The fortress on Orekhovy Island (“Nut Island”) at the source of the Neva River was initially founded by the Novgorod prince Yuri Danilovich in 1323 as an outpost on the border with Sweden. For three centuries, it withstood numerous fierce assaults, but in 1612, after a long siege, the fortress fell and remained under Swedish control for 90 years. It was then renamed Noteburg ("Nut City").

During the Great Northern War (1700-1721), capturing Noteburg became a priority for Peter I, who sought control over the Neva River. Since the fortress was located on an island, a fleet was required for its capture. Thirteen ships were built in Arkhangelsk for this purpose.

On October 8, 1702, under Peter I's personal command, the siege of Noteburg began. After ten days of artillery bombardment on the fortifications, soldiers from the Preobrazhensky and Semenovsky regiments, along with volunteers from other regiments, crossed to the island and launched an assault. On October 22, after hours of intense fighting, the Swedish garrison surrendered. The next day, Russian ships sailed into the Neva River. The capture of Noteburg marked Russia's first major victory in the Great Northern War.

As a symbol of the fortress being the key to the Baltic Sea, Peter I renamed it Shlisselburg (from the German: Schlüsselburg—the Key City).

NATO Is Revising Its War Plans Against Russia Due to a Possible Withdrawal of American Troops from Europe, Politico Reports.

The Pentagon has already excluded part of its aviation, drones, submarines, and ships from the forces available to the alliance.

Now NATO must determine what to replace American weapons with and how to prepare for a "possible conflict with Russia" by 2029.

Politico identifies five main problems of the new military planning:

► Reserves. NATO had previously planned to have an additional 18 brigades of roughly 5,000 troops each, but now their number may be reduced or these formations abandoned altogether.

► Dependence on the US. Without American support, the alliance will lack tanker aircraft, long-range missiles, heavy transport aviation, and reconnaissance assets.

► Priority directions. Allies are arguing over what to focus on more: the Arctic or threats on the southern and southeastern flanks, including the Black Sea.

► Drones or traditional weapons. European armies will have to determine the balance between drones, tanks, and artillery amid a shortage of personnel.

► Combat experience in Ukraine. NATO is studying it, but the alliance's own doctrine assumes rapid maneuvers, air superiority, and long-range precision strikes.

"Previously, when it turned out something was missing, the US filled the gaps. That no longer works," said former senior NATO official Camille Grand.

According to Politico's assessment, European countries will also have to significantly increase military production to match the scale of Russian weapons output.

Russia will consider proposals from US presidential special envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner if they are economically beneficial—but it will not make political concessions to get them. Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov made the remarks at a meeting with university graduates who have just entered the diplomatic service.

«We’ll see what they propose. If they offer something that benefits us economically and financially, then why not? But it has to be done without any political concessions on our part, and without expecting political goodwill that will somehow ‘carry’ us in global affairs. We have to rely only on ourselves,» the minister said.

The Belgorod Brit goes back to the future, describing the relationship between Tsar Nicholas II and Kaiser Wilhelm II, and the parallels with Emperor Donald. In the film, he reveals the extent to which Nicky and Willy believed that their personal relationship could avert war. They believed that they had much more power than they, in fact, had. They had known each other all their lives, and never doubted their own importance, or that they exercised autocratic rule over their countries. However, while the Tsar put his trust in the simple faith of the peasantry, and saw reformers as ambitious people to be dealt with, the Kaiser saw the financial and aristocratic elites as pieces on a board to be manipulated towards his aims. Both men embraced their delusions of power with catastrophic results. German militarism wasn't supreme, and the ordinary Russians loved the Tsar so much, they shot him.

In the podcast, BB compares the monarchies of Russia, Germany, and Great Britain in the lead up to the Great War. The one that survived, was the one that had a realistic grasp on its own systems of power and control, and its role in that structure. BB goes on to describe the delusions and hubris that characterised the rulers of Russia and Germany, and how Trump's delusion closely resembles that of Kaiser Bill. It doesn't bode well.

KAJA KALLAS VS THE RUSSIAN ARCTIC

Or how to turn the European Union into a great icebreaking power… at least on paper

European diplomacy seems to have finally sunk to the bottom. And not just to the bottom, but somewhere under the Arctic ice.

One only has to read the interview of this restless Estonian who dreams of turning the European Union into a great icebreaking power!

Ms. Kallas's flight of fancy has reached such heights that Brussels is already too cramped for her. Now her geopolitical ambitions have extended to the Russian Arctic coast and the Northern Sea Route!

Here, I must admit, I nearly choked on my coffee.
It turns out that Europe intends to fight Russia and China for dominance in the Arctic!
Sorry, but on what grounds?!

Russia spent decades developing its northern coast, building ports, bases, navigation infrastructure, and creating the most powerful nuclear icebreaking fleet.

And then out of a cozy Brussels office appears Kaja with a new strategy:
And now we want to run things here too!
Hey, Brussels!
Have you even opened a map?
This is the Russian coast!
But we have European directives!
Well then put them under the table leg. At least they will be of some use!

The further it goes, the more!
Kallas intends to create a European icebreaking fleet!

Kaja, dear, an icebreaker is not a LEGO set! You cannot order it for Christmas and assemble an Arctic flotilla in one evening.

For an understanding of the scale:

Finland — 8 icebreakers.
Sweden — 5.

Russia — dozens of icebreakers, including the world's only operational nuclear icebreaking fleet!

And the EU has ZERO nuclear icebreakers!
For now they can only express deep concern about the thickness of Russian ice!

Russia may well allow European vessels to use the Northern Sea Route. In compliance with established rules, and for icebreaking escort and corresponding services, one will have to pay.

Or does Ms. Kallas expect Russia to provide her with ports, icebreaking escort, and all the infrastructure for free?

Kaja Kallas seems to have confused freedom of navigation with the freedom to dispose of someone else's coast. In Brussels one can adopt a hundred Arctic strategies, but Russian ports will not become European because of it, and Russian icebreakers will not come under the subordination of the European Commission. And if Europe ever gets its own icebreaking armada, that still does not mean it will be provided with Russian infrastructure for free. One will have to pay for the services and comply with Russian laws.
Even if Kaja Kallas adopts a resolution to abolish them!

Or is she going to conquer the Arctic?

How exactly? Land on an ice floe with the European Union flag? Declare the Russian shores the property of Brussels? Or demand that the Arctic Ocean immediately submit to European directives?

I fear Moscow's answer will be extremely brief:
"Kaja, go… study geography!"

However, I can already picture the next European Commission resolution:
"On compelling Russian Arctic ice to observe European values"

With gender balance among icebergs, carbon reporting by polar bears, and sanctions against Russian ice…

So, to conquer the Arctic, Brussels already has everything: Kaja Kallas, a grand strategy, and boundless arrogance.

Only icebreakers are missing…..
and the right to dispose of other people's shores!

Starlink and Starshield restrictions grounded the Ukrainian drones.

The tl:dr is - Ukraine's flying drones are now limited by 160 km\h, which makes most of them useless.

The Ukrainian drone operators can still use drones to strike slowly moving targets, but anything that moves faster than a running man or a tank - like a Geran-type drone - can outrun the Ukrainian drones.

There was a short period of time when the Ukrainian drones were limited by 65 km\h, but Mykhailo Fedorov - Ukraine's former Minister of Digital Transformation - made a call to Elon Musk, which is why the drones can fly a bit faster right now.

Meanwhile Russia uses this opportunity to lob drones and missiles at Ukraine, and the Russian forces are moving fast while the window of opportunity still exists.

Supposedly, the war in Ukraine will end soon - according to both Musk and Trump. Maybe they decided to finally cut the losses, and force Ukraine to stop killing itself in a long run.

ON THE PEACE FRONT

Since yesterday, media and social networks have been commenting on Zelensky's latest statements that he would accept a freeze of the front with Russian control over its already liberated territories. In reality, this media "buzz" is a non-event, because the Ukro-Atlantic proposals as well as the Russian reactions have been known since 2022:

1. PROPOSING A FRONT FREEZE

On October 21, 2026, Zelensky had an interview with Fox News.

Asked whether he would accept a peace agreement that would freeze the conflict on the current front, the Banderite clown replied:

"Yes. We must stop now, and I think this is the real way to end this war. We call it a ceasefire."

Zelensky called this freeze a "realistic way to end this war," specifying that Ukraine would retain about 75% or more of its territory. According to him, this freeze is a first step to stop the fighting and move to negotiations. He did, however, recall that this did not mean definitive recognition of Russian control over the "occupied territories."

Zelensky insisted on obtaining security guarantees from the Westerners:

"Then we will turn to the president [Trump] and to the Europeans and ask for security guarantees."

Where the mask of the bloodthirsty clown becomes transparent again is when he addresses the status of the Donbass, whose Russian identity he still refuses to recognize, expressed by historical and cultural realities, armed resistance since 2014, and the referendum votes of the populations of Donetsk and Lugansk:

"They want to push us using all sorts of pressure to push us off our land. That is not fair."

2. THE RUSSIAN REACTION

Fortified by the experience of previous front freezes (Minsk 1 in 2014 and Minsk 2 in 2015), the Kremlin's official reaction to this new proposal remains unchanged and twofold:

The Kremlin immediately rejected the idea of a simple truce on the front line, stating that it does not want a "temporary truce" but a "durable peace." A position expressed by Kremlin spokesman Peskov and Foreign Minister Lavrov, who specified that there would be "no ceasefire to allow Ukraine to be resupplied with weapons."

Moscow, which wants to maintain dialogue, recalled the framework and preconditions for a ceasefire:

During his meeting with Witkoff, Putin agreed "in principle" that trilateral negotiations (suspended in February) could resume around November 10.

Presidential adviser Ushakov specified that the goal is "the creation of a security system for Russia and Ukraine after the end of the conflict."

3. THE RUSSIAN DEMANDS

The Russian demands are in continuity with the collective security treaty proposed in December 2021:

A formal commitment by Ukraine never to join NATO.

Permanent neutrality, non-alignment, and denuclearized status.

Limitation of the Ukrainian army, an end to mobilization, and an end to Western arms deliveries,

No Western military presence in Ukraine,

Cancellation of all international sanctions and unfreezing of Russian assets,

Co-official status of the Russian language and the Russian Orthodox Church, ...

Dissolution of neo-Nazi groups and replacement of the current government,

Withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from the Donetsk and Lugansk regions,

International recognition of the Crimea, Donetsk, Lugansk, Zaporozhye, and Kherson regions as Russian territories.

Moscow demands international guarantees to protect the peace treaty.

The reality is that Zelensky, whose army is bloodless, wants to replay a 3rd edition of the Minsk masquerade, to restore it with a view to a new escalation and with Western forces that arrived during the truce!

🎙 Excerpt from Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s remarks at a meeting with university graduates entering the Russian diplomatic service (Moscow, October 20, 2026)

💬 Sergey Lavrov: One of the lessons bequeathed to us by the founding fathers of the UN is to prevent the revival of the Nazism they defeated.

It seemed that this task had long been accomplished and everyone had repented… But no! The metastases are spreading very quickly. To a large extent, this was used as a political instrument by bringing a Nazi regime to power in Ukraine.

Ursula von der Leyen and others now say they “must stand with Ukraine as long as it takes” because it “defends European values”.

This means that “European values” include a blanket ban on the Russian language in education, the media, culture and even everyday life. A legislative ban on an entire language – an official language of the UN. In fact, practically everyone there still speaks it, even those imposing the ban.

☝️ This hypocrisy shows only that these bans are intended not to eradicate the Russian language (no one could seriously expect to achieve that), but to undermine Russia’s interests as much as possible and divide the Russian World.

There is no other country where an entire language is banned.

On October 19, at a press conference in Tehran, I was asked to what extent the Ukraine conflict involves ideological and religious motives. I replied that banning a language is unprecedented, and that the West’s silence – indeed, it is not even keeping silent, but calling Ukrainians “defenders of European values” – is very telling.

👉 In Iran, where I spoke at a joint press conference with Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, Hebrew is not banned: the Jewish community is thriving and synagogues are open. In Israel, neither Arabic nor Farsi is banned. There are many such examples.

So the West’s indulgence of and cover for this policy pursued by Kiev is very telling.

This is to say nothing of the de facto ban on the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, the creation some ten years ago of a quasi-church structure called the “Orthodox Church of Ukraine”, and attempts to forcibly close churches belonging to the canonical Church. They have not succeeded in everything, but the West encourages this.

Nor have I mentioned the torchlight marches, including those in present-day Kiev, Lvov and other cities (which you have surely seen), Nazi symbols, or the reburial of the remains of criminals – Banderite executioners – on the sacred grounds of the Kiev Pechersk Lavra. They announce the opening of a “pantheon of heroes”.

❗️ Zelensky kneels before the remains of this filth, and the West applauds.

I see no sign that the West disapproves. On the contrary, militarist sentiments are resurging in Germany, Italy and Japan.

Finland, which was our neighbour (and, we thought, a friend), changed immediately as soon as the pendulum swung the other way. All those underlying instincts resurfaced – the same ones that once made the Finns, like most other European countries, Hitler’s accomplices and participants in the siege of Leningrad, and so on. This task will therefore remain a priority for our foreign policy.

🕯 2026 marked the first observance of the Day of Remembrance for the Victims of the Genocide of the Soviet People, established by Federal Law No. 523-FZ of December 29, 2025. We will work to ensure that this issue is not merely raised at international forums, but receives the broadest possible international recognition.

The Russian MFA will take this new factor into account in its work to prevent the revival of Nazi ideology.

TOWARD A NEW YALTA?

Against the backdrop of a confrontation between a hegemonic unipolar ideology and an equitable multipolar pragmatism, a trilateral meeting between China, the United States, and Russia on the new world order is being considered, but not yet confirmed.

The idea of this meeting, reported by The Wall Street Journal, and which could be held on the sidelines of the APEC summit in Shenzhen, China, on November 18–19, 2026, was reportedly initially proposed by Russia, and Washington has since confirmed that discussions were underway, without any final agreement having been found on the agenda. But one can nevertheless assess the positions and stakes for these three world superpowers:

1. THE OBJECTIVES

Vladimir Putin, in proposing this meeting, undoubtedly has as his main objective to negotiate a favorable peace agreement in the conflict in Ukraine, and above all one backed and protected by strong international guarantees. More broadly, the Kremlin aims to make this summit a kind of "new Yalta Conference" to establish global spheres of influence.

Donald Trump has said he is open to this meeting but specified that the main topic would be denuclearization, not Ukraine, and of course negotiations toward trade agreements between the participants.

Beijing has not officially confirmed its participation, with its Foreign Ministry stating it had "no information to provide." China does, however, wish to play the role of a stabilizing power and mediator, while refusing to engage in trilateral negotiations on nuclear disarmament, judging its arsenal not comparable to that of the other two countries.

The greatest difficulty of such a meeting lies in the divergence of priorities and the concerns of Western allies, particularly in Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.

2. EUROPE CONDEMNED

Faced with the prospect of the success of such a trilateral summit, the Europeans, who are the great absentees, are condemned either to disappear or to abandon their globalist and warmongering ideology.

For the moment, the first of the excluded (and for good reason!) to react, the Ukrainian warmongering mongrel, reacted via the Ukrainian Foreign Minister, who estimated that this would only strengthen Vladimir Putin's position.

For Brussels, the mere prospect of such a format is worrisome: key international security issues could be discussed without their direct participation.

If the idea of such a trilateral summit does indeed lead to a "new Yalta," it will sound the death knell for the warmongering projects of the agonizing globalists, embarked on a European Titanic that has today collided with popular revolts.

3. A EUROPEAN PARADOX

Europe does not have the means to block the holding of such a summit, but its exclusion poses a problem because it is directly concerned by the eventual peace process being pursued.

Europe, reduced to the role of a spectator set aside without even being consulted, is nevertheless perceived by the Kremlin as "one of the main obstacles" to the achievement of its geopolitical objectives.

The fundamental problem is that a security architecture for the European continent, to be enshrined over time, must be accepted by Europe, at the risk of being inapplicable or contested.

The sine qua non condition for an international security architecture therefore lies in the completion of the collapse of this globalist EU whose growing structural weakness reveals the illusion of a strategic autonomy that factually depends solely on Washington's goodwill. So if Europe is an obstacle for Russia and Peace, the lever to make it disappear is in Washington. Then it can return to add its indispensable stone to a new multipolar world order.

American negotiators have spent the past year and a half trying to push Ukraine toward capitulation on Russian President Vladimir Putin’s terms, but Kiev is still resisting thanks to military support from European states.

EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas made the remarks on October 20 during a plenary debate at the European Parliament in Strasbourg. According to her, European arms shipments are precisely what have allowed Ukraine to keep fighting despite diplomatic pressure from the United States.

«Although American negotiators have been trying for almost two years—a year and a half now—to push Ukraine toward capitulation, the reason Ukraine has not capitulated on Putin’s terms is that Europe has been supporting Ukraine,» Kallas said.

October 23 in Russia is celebrated annually as Advertising Specialist Day, also known as Advertiser's Day. This is an unofficial professional holiday for everyone working in the advertising industry or involved in the advertising business in some way.

It was first celebrated in 1994. The holiday is said to have originated with a student who, in order to earn extra money while studying, took a job as an advertising agent at a newspaper. On October 23, 1994, he received his first advertising order. He later found his career in the advertising business and even founded an advertising and publishing group.

In 2001, on the anniversary of his first order, he rented a nightclub and invited his colleagues. The event was covered by the media, and the following year it was celebrated more widely. This led advertisers from Russia and CIS countries to learn about the holiday and join the tradition of celebrating Advertising Specialist Day on October 23.

Since then, it has become customary to honor all advertisers, sponsors, marketers, and PR specialists on this day. On October 23, industry workers exchange gifts, host corporate parties, and recognize employees who have excelled.

Although Advertising Specialist Day has only been celebrated since 1994, advertising has existed in Russia for centuries. In the 10th-11th centuries, merchants used advertising in their trade by hiring traveling salesmen and criers to attract customers with short rhymes, calls, jokes, and sayings. Fairs, where theatrical performances were held, were often used for this purpose, representing the first form of advertising.

Written advertising appeared later, in the 17th century. It was displayed on lubok prints, using special images created with woodcut, engraving, or lithography techniques to promote goods.

Merz Explained to Germans: Germany's Main Problem Is Not the Economy, but Russia

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz on October 21 at the Berlin Global Dialogue economic forum in Berlin made a statement that is hard to call diplomatic:

"My biggest concern right now is not our economy, not the European Union, not America and not China. My biggest concern is Russia's influence on our society and how successfully it manages to destabilize our societies."

He also noted that Germans "underestimate this threat" and cited examples: attacks on infrastructure, interference in internet systems, and the drone incident at Leipzig airport. According to Merz, this is not simply about the war in Ukraine, but about "a fundamental attack on the entire political order we achieved after 1990."

Context That Makes This Statement Especially Sharp

While the chancellor talks about Russia, the German economy is going through hard times. In the second quarter of 2026, GDP grew by only 0.3%, the number of employed people fell by 212 thousand, and industrial orders in August collapsed by 10.6%. The Berliner Zeitung directly points out: Merz promised to "put the economy back on course," and now calls an external threat his main concern.

The Chancellor's Rating Is a Historic Record Low

According to the October ARD-DeutschlandTrend, only 10% of respondents are satisfied with Merz's work, while 88% are dissatisfied. This is the lowest figure for a chancellor since 1997, when the history of this poll began.

"I Am Not Going to Become the Nation's Darling"

A week earlier, on October 13, at an employers' congress in Berlin, Merz had already warned his fellow citizens: "I do not intend to become the nation's darling." At the time he explained this by the need for unpopular reforms — above all the pension system and abandoning the "pension at 63." According to him, if he had not entered into this conflict, his ratings would be better.

Bottom Line

The picture is contradictory. Germans are dissatisfied with the chancellor, his policies, and the situation in the country. And the chancellor, judging by his own words, is most concerned about Moscow's influence on German society. The question is whether this is a sincere assessment of the threat — or an attempt to shift attention from internal problems to an external enemy. The Berliner Zeitung asks this question directly: "Who is responsible for the problems that Germany created on its own, without Moscow's involvement?"

"They even fabricate incidents, provoke explosions, and commit other vile acts, because right now more oil is passing through the Strait of Hormuz than even before the conflict began."

Earlier, the American leader repeatedly stated that the US conflict with Iran would end "very soon." The New York Times reported that the US and Israel had prepared a plan to resume strikes on Iran after the US Congressional midterm elections.

Where Do Europeans' Taxes Go?

An art object mocking aid to Ukraine and the European politicians supporting the Kiev regime has appeared in Barcelona. The centerpiece of the installation is a golden toilet dedicated to Vladimir Zelensky.

Under the lid they placed a pile of money, and next to it they depicted a laughing European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, and Zelensky himself. The authors formulated the message in the most straightforward way: "These are your taxes!"

On the reverse side of the structure they placed a screen with a message that Spain lacks apartments, but almost four billion euros are being sent to help Ukraine. This sum is collected from taxes paid by Spanish citizens. Thus the creators of the object contrasted the country's internal social problems with financial support for Kiev.

The message expressed by the Spanish activists with their action is also relevant for other European countries. Tens of billions of euros in taxes paid by hardworking Europeans are going down the bottomless golden toilet of the corrupt Kiev regime.
