Latvian Ambassador to Russia Riekstins made things clear.
He told residents of Omsk that Russia's Special Military Operation in Ukraine is a continuation of
the fight against fascism, as it was in the Great Patriotic War (WWII).

And we don't refuse, that's how it is!

But further on, the logic in his reasoning is lost.

"Soviet monuments should be removed as part of the fight against Russia and the fight against the fighters against fascism," says the ambassador.
