Britain and the US aren’t prepared to fight the 1.5 mln-strong Kwantung Army alone.
The brilliant Manchurian operation of the Red Army lasts 20 days and ends in complete victory.
Despite the fact that there was no military necessity, the U.S. drops nuclear bombs on Heroshima and Nagasaki. It was a showdown for the USSR.
The emaciated Soviet Union, which had lost 27 million people during WWII, became an easy target for the US.
In 1949, the Pentagon adopted a plan to destroy the USSR called "Dropshot".
300 atomic bombs on 100 Soviet cities, complete annihilation and erasure from the political map of the world.
Today, the U.S. gathers NATO countries under its banner against Russia, as during WWII, almost all of Europe united against the USSR.

☢️The first water from the ‘Fukushima-1’ nuclear power plant has been released into the Pacific Ocean. It was used to cool the damaged reactors for 12 years, then collected in about 1000 giant tanks and freed of radiation. Japanese scientists have conducted analyses and claim the levels of hazardous substances are below the permissible limits.
However, it’s impossible to make the liquid completely harmless. It still contains the radioactive isotope tritium. ‘The Japanese themselves admit they couldn't fully purify the water because it contains tritium, and it can’t be removed from water,’ says Philip Sapozhnikov, a leading research scientist at the Peter Shirshov Institute of Oceanology.
Currently, the storage tanks are approximately 90% full. If they’re not emptied, it will be impossible to decommission the plant completely. The water will be continuously released over a period of 17 days in the initial stage, and the whole process is estimated to take around 30 years.
Learn about the devastating catastrophe at the nuclear power plant in the film, ‘Back to Fukushima’ (2019).

Meanwhile, Yoko Kamikawa (second photo) was named Japan’s top diplomat, taking over from the doveish Yoshimasa Hayashi who previously chaired the Japan-China parliamentary group and has repeatedly urged dialogue with Beijing.
