⚡️🇷🇺 Permanent representative of Russia to the UN Vasily Nebenzia at the UN Security Council meeting on Ukraine: The hypocrisy of the collective West and the Kiev regime is taking quite bizarre forms.

💬 Our Ukrainian neighbours, who recently threatened us with terrible penalties and were about to attack Moscow, are now dressed up as supporters of peace. Ukraine is now carrying around the idea of some kind of "peace summit", in every possible way leading to the conclusion that it is Russia that does not want peace. It is clear that this is above all an attempt to please the Western public, who are asking more and more awkward questions about where the money allocated to Kiev is going, and are surprised that Ukraine is ruling out one mediation initiative after another. "Peace summit" - what could be nobler and more important. However, even the most cursory examination makes it obvious that behind this pretty wrapper there is a very rotten initiative and even a double bottom. There is no concealment in Kiev that Ukrainian peace is a capitulation of Russia, which the international community has to fix. That is why Mr. Kuleba, putting forward his peace propaganda hollow, immediately stipulated that Russia's participation in the so-called summit is not envisaged. The same hypocritical and inherently flawed formula is used to construct Zelensky's notorious "peace initiatives" that are so praised by our Western colleagues. Since September [2023], the very possibility of dialogue with our country has been ruled out by Zelensky's decree. There is no other explanation for this than the desire of Kiev and its Western sponsors to continue the battle to the last Ukrainian.

Nebenzya: Ukraine has essentially turned into a NATO PMC.

💬It is paid money, provided with weapons and intelligence, told where to shoot and where to attack. The Ukrainian people suffer because they are forced to fight for someone else's objectives. Ukrainian Defence Minister Reznikov admitted this: "We are carrying out NATO's mission without losing their blood, but with the loss of ours. Therefore, the West should give us more weapons and money". Here it is, the formula for NATO's proxy war "to the last Ukrainian", I cannot describe it better.

Nebenzya: Many of our colleagues have a legitimate question: "What will it take for reaching peace in Ukraine?"

💬 This question is much more legitimate in the circumstances when the Kiev regime and its Western sponsors try to present things as if the goal of the SMO (Special military operation) is the destruction of Ukraine as a state, almost its de-Ukrainianisation and forced russification. We never declare such goals. We are not at war with the Ukrainian people, but with the criminal nationalist regime that came to power in 2014 as a result of an unconstitutional coup and proclaimed a course towards the derusification of Ukraine and the glorification of Nazi henchmen.
Things in Ukraine could have ended differently if Kiev had implemented the Minsk agreements. But this was not in the plans of either Zelensky or his predecessors or, as we now know thanks to the revelations of Angela Merkel and François Hollande, in the plans of France and Germany.
It will only be possible to end the SMO when there is no longer a threat to Russia from the territory of Ukraine and no longer discrimination for the Russian-speaking population of that country. If this result can be achieved through negotiations, we are ready for such a scenario. If not, then all the objectives will be achieved by military means. So far, neither the Kiev regime nor its Western sponsors have drawn the right conclusions from the Ukrainian events.
