암호화폐 전문 미디어 디크립트(Decrypt)에 따르면, 미 국세청이 5,000 달러 이상의 암호화폐를 기부할 경우 반드시 세무감사를 진행해야 한다고 밝혔다. 값비싼 암호화폐 세무감사 비용과 인력의 부족 등으로 암호화폐 기부가 위축될 것이라는 전망이다. 미디어에 따르면, 미 국세청은 작년 10월 암호화폐 포크에 대한 납세 지침을 규정하는 등 암호화폐 조세 정책 수립을 이어가고 있이다.
