For 10 October 2026, the latest reports indicate a major security deployment in Delhi:
- 221 CAPF companies have been made available to Delhi Police from 8–12 October.
- This is roughly 23,000 Central Armed Police Forces personnel.
- Separately, at least 15,000 Delhi Police personnel are expected to be deployed.
- That puts the combined CAPF + Delhi Police deployment at roughly 38,000 personnel, if the full deployment is on the ground.
- A separate PTI report says nearly 4,000 security personnel were already deployed specifically across New Delhi district, including CAPF.
Important: The ~23,000 figure is the CAPF force made available for Delhi, not necessarily a confirmed headcount physically present at every location on 10 October.

🚨 SUPREME COURT ORDERS FRESH POLLS IN 50 PUNJAB WARDS
The Supreme Court has ordered fresh elections in 50 municipal wards within 6 weeks.
📍 Patiala: 28 wards
📍 Baghapurana: 15 wards
📍 Dharamkot: 7 wards
Patiala MC was dominated by AAP, which won 43 of 53 seats in the 2024 civic polls. The Supreme Court found that the original election process in those 50 wards was seriously compromised.
The fresh polls will be held under judicial monitoring with videography of the election process.
