2006 was an era when #Facebook had just started, #LinkedIn probably didn't exist in today’s form, and there were limited questions that you could ask #Google. The Only source of new information you had was your #professors or #seniors.

12th October 2006, I had coded my first webpage (7 days before my exams) and was #ecstatic about it. Next day when I reached #college and showed it to my senior. His reaction was: What’s this #nonsense? Focus on your studies. You have exams in 7 days, and your placement will be there after three years. Better #prepare for that.

I became sad and the next day again showed it to my professor; his reaction was: Shekhar, better publish a paper than publish a random webpage on the #Internet.

I took both the feedback but didn't give up on my #dreams; after many self debates with myself, I concluded that probably my senior or my teacher has no idea how big the internet will be in the future.

𝟵𝟬 𝗗𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗪𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘁:
Another story from Feb 2011, Call me #Stupid or #careless, or it was a plain & Simple #Mistake. We moved Our offices to HSR Layout in #Bangalore because we wanted to expand our Classroom Coaching Services. We invested heavily in the office space and security deposits. On Day 1, our Team realized that We forgot to apply for an #Internet connection (that was the 2G era) but since our company runs on the Internet, We immediately applied for a new Connection. To our horror, Airtel was denied because those days, they did not have any ports available in that area. BSNL would have taken months to give us a new connection, and we were out of Luck.

𝗪𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗱 𝗢𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝘄𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴.
To add to this horror, We had Online Students waiting for our classes but no Internet connection around; we were simply out of Luck.

While our intentions were noble, Our Students were angry and calling us back to back complaining because no classes had been happenin

But I could not afford it, My pocket money was 500 Rs those days, and I was living in rented accommodation in Bangalore, and the Bus pass itself was 450 Rupees. So naturally, I was over budget. However, during my school days, I had already seen the power of the internet, and I was hell-bent on taking an internet connection.

I worked as a Gym Accounts assistant in the evenings to earn that extra income to support my Internet connection (sounds laughable today). It was hectic initially, but it gave me the leverage to have 24x7 Internet connectivity at home.

Today when I look back, I am glad I took up that #challenge because that #internet #connection was the seed of #Innovation, and thats when #Biotecnika & #Rasayanika Began.
