Free-Fall Lifeboat Accident Aboard Oil/Chemical Tanker. During an abandon ship drill aboard the oil/chemical tanker, a free-fall lifeboat (FFLB) was unintentionally released into the ocean with the chief officer on board, resulting in serious injuries. The vessel was en route to Antwerp and the incident occurred approximately 30°27.7’ N, 040° 53.6’ W.
