πΉ Russell 2000 (+0.2%) - is outperforming both the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq. The small-cap index benefits strongly from lower bond yields and further declines in oil prices. There is room for additional gains, particularly if yesterday's strength in chip and large-cap technology stocks broadens into the wider market. Nevertheless, we are tightening our TP somewhat and may re-enter at lower levels if it gets triggered.
π TP
πΉ Broadcom (-0.7%) - continues to trade largely in line with NVDA. We see AVGO opening slightly lower today following yesterday's positive session. We are tightening our TP marginally.
π TP
πΉ Delta Air Lines (+0.6%) - is opening strongly and trading near our TP. We expect the airline and tourism sector to have further upside potential, particularly benefiting from significantly lower oil prices, which have declined further today (TP
πΉ Nvidia (-0.7%) - is opening slightly lower following yesterday's strong session. We remain LONG the AI chip leader and keep our TP unchanged for now (TP
πΉ Marvell (-3.0%) - is (for now) the biggest loser in the Nasdaq 100 during today's pre-market trading, although this comes after significant outperformance over the previous two sessions. We are keeping our TP unchanged for now as we still prefer to exit the position (TP
βΊ We remain very bullish on the market overall. With the weaker opening, we are actively looking for dip-buying opportunities. We particularly like ORCL here, as well as several other names including TSLA and INTC, and we also see further upside potential for MU and other memory-chip stocks (even though MU is already opening around 0.9% higher).
βΊ We want to remain LONG US technology overall and are therefore buying the Nasdaq dip, with the index trading around 0.3% lower ahead of the NYSE open. We currently see a rotation away from tech, AI, and chip stocks, but continue to view the tech sector and cyclicals as bullish and believe the overall market environment remains favorable for the higher-risk sectors.

βΊ Profit taking in New York also led to profit taking in Europe, with chipmaker Infineon weighing on the DAX (alongside e-commerce giant Zalando). Additional weakness in the energy sector also pressured RWE - although this was primarily profit taking following a very strong 2026 for the energy company.
βΊ We buy the dip and remain broadly positive.
βΊ European equities should particularly benefit from the continued sharp decline in oil prices. Oil is now down more than 5% (Brent around -5.1% and WTI even around -6%).
βΊ Overall, we see further upside ahead and see Europe well positioned to continue moving higher, even amid ongoing skepticism regarding the US-Iran agreement. Investors are generally concerned about the Fed pointing to a shift in stance (more hawkish) - however, this is not visible in yields that continue to slide.

Apart from that, our NVDA position remains open. NVDA was not immune to the profit taking that was particularly pronounced across the chip sector and closed 2.37% lower today. We nevertheless remain LONG here.
Our MRVL position hit the off-profit TP. We could have exited significantly better, as MRVL plunged nearly 10% today.
However, today's sharp profit taking was largely a healthy correction following the recent strong gains. The move was amplified by concerns about a potentially more hawkish Fed ahead of tomorrow's (= today's | Wednesday) Fed interest rate decision. I still expect a more cautious "wait-and-see" outlook, particularly given the now significantly lower oil prices.

Strong week so far. We were able to close additional positions from our Monday trades in profit, resulting in a really solid start to the week. In the end, however, MRVL was the main disappointment - we could have closed that position significantly lower. We continue to see overall upside potential in risk assets, with optimism surrounding a US-Iran deal remaining intact. In addition, the sharp decline in oil prices has helped push bond yields lower and ultimately reduced fears that we are heading into another prolonged period of tighter monetary policy.
We did see a notable correction in the market today, but profit taking was largely concentrated in the high-flying AI and chip stocks. Most other sectors closed higher, including financials, industrials, materials, and real estate. This continues to point to solid risk sentiment overall and hopes that the economic outlook will remain positive and resilient.
The profit taking in the chip sector also weighed on our NVDA position and pushed our INTC position well into off-profit territory. We are tightening our TPs
We started Tuesday's session with solid index profits from our Monday trades (DAX πΈ, FTSE 100 πΈ, Russell 2000 πΈ) and closed most of our remaining open positions - including MRVL, unfortunately a bit too early. Overall, however, it was another good trading session, including another ("as always") very strong NYSE opening trade with ORCL πΈ.

βΊ We see the FTSE trading near the flat line (currently -0.1% at around 10500), with some concerns weighing on sentiment regarding a potentially more hawkish stance from the Fed under new Fed Chair Kevin Warsh later today, as well as tomorrow's Bank of England meeting. The BoE is, however, aware that the UK economy would not respond well to a rate hike, which is why we do not expect one. We also do not expect overly hawkish comments, although policymakers are likely to emphasize that significant uncertainty remains regarding the deal and the future path of energy prices.
βΊ Today's UK inflation data also came in surprisingly moderate. Headline inflation fell to 2.8% in May (from 3.0% YoY in April). Core inflation rose by just 0.2% MoM - inflation figures that are unlikely to concern policymakers, especially with oil prices having fallen sharply following the 14-point US-Iran Memorandum of Understanding draft. The current draft is clearly favorable to Iran, making it more likely that Tehran will not derail the negotiations.
βΊ The FTSE 100 should currently benefit from its more defensive composition. Other European indices are facing greater headwinds from weakening exports to China - an issue that is far less relevant for the FTSE 100 given its heavy weighting toward financial stocks. This sector has performed very well over recent sessions (including in New York).
βΊ The FTSE 100 has recently been weighed down by sharp losses in the energy and materials sectors - however, we see limited downside from here, at least for today.
βΊ Our DAX position has already hit TP for a nice profit. We remain broadly optimistic on Europe and want to maintain a LONG position. We opt for the FTSE here, although the DAX also has further upside potential, it is currently being held back somewhat by weakness in the important German automotive sector.

We opt for the FTSE here, although the DAX also has further upside potential, it is currently being held back somewhat by weakness in the important German automotive sector.

πΉ Nasdaq 100 (+0.65%) - has rebounded strongly following yesterday's profit taking (primarily in the AI/chip sector). We are likely to see cautious positioning ahead of today's Fed rate decision, with some investors concerned that Warsh could warn about inflation and signal a longer period of higher interest rates. However, chip and AI stocks had become somewhat overheated following strong gains on both Friday and Monday. Yesterday's move therefore looked largely like a healthy correction rather than a shift in sentiment. We keep our current TP unchanged for now (TP
πΉ Broadcom (+3.1%) - is opening sharply higher and significantly outperforming other Big Tech names. AVGO still needs to move somewhat higher to reach our TP, which we are tightening slightly. JPMorgan, the most influential investment bank, is urging investors to aggressively accumulate AVGO shares and continues to rate the stock "Overweight" - providing additional tailwinds for AVGO.
π TP
πΉ Delta Air Lines (+0.3%) - saw some profit taking yesterday and is attempting to move back toward $84.00 today. We prefer to tighten our TP slightly here.
π TP
πΉ Intel (+3.8%) - is staging a very strong rebound following yesterday's significant selling pressure and profit taking. We are tightening our TP slightly while still allowing for an overall profitable exit. Despite its now more demanding valuation, we continue to see INTC as well positioned. As long as risk sentiment in the growth and AI sectors remains positive, INTC has additional upside potential.
π TP
πΉ Nvidia (+0.5%) - is opening higher and remains broadly bullish, even as profit taking and gains continue to alternate. Bernstein once again recommends investing in NVDA, continues to expect outperformance, and maintains its own position. We are also maintaining our position (TP
βΊ We are already heavily invested in the chip sector and therefore are not increasing our exposure further, even though we see significant short-term rebound and upside potential in names such as AMD, MRVL, LRCX, and others. The chip and memory-chip sectors received broadly very bullish analyst commentary today from investment banks and research firms.
βΊ We are buying the dip in MSFT. The software giant experienced a significant sell-off in June (although following strong gains beforehand). Microsoft decided against leasing an Oracle data center due to security concerns. The potential deal was worth more than $3 billion but should be more of a headwind for ORCL than for MSFT. Microsoft will now explore and find alternative solutions. The software sector as a whole came under heavy selling pressure in June as inflation concerns increased. Now that a US-Iran agreement appears to be within reach, there is room for a recovery. Additional pressure on Microsoft came from SpaceX's strong performance, with its market capitalization briefly exceeding Microsoft's yesterday - remarkable given the massive fundamental differences between the two companies. We are taking advantage of the current weakness in MSFT. At its current valuation, Microsoft remains an excellent investment for 2026 and beyond.
βΊ MSFT is opening around 1.2% lower (slightly above $389.00) and traded below the $389.00 level at times during pre-market trading.

βΊ Ahead of today's Fed interest rate decision, there are currently not many highly attractive setups we want to trade. May retail sales data showed that the US consumer remains resilient despite accelerating inflation and higher borrowing costs. While we expect elevated volatility during the Fed press conference (the first under new Fed Chair Kevin Warsh), which could trigger short-term profit taking, the broader market backdrop remains constructive. Fundamentals are solid, risk sentiment remains generally optimistic, and sharply lower energy prices have also helped push bond yields lower.
βΊ We are seeing SpaceX trade in negative territory today for the first time since its IPO. SpaceX has effectively become the new TSLA - with a valuation far above anything that could even remotely be considered reasonable based on its current revenue and earnings. The company is now nearly as valuable as MSFT and even more valuable than AMZN.
βΊ SpaceX benefits from the "Musk premium" but, unlike TSLA, it genuinely dominates a massive industry (although TSLA did the same in its early years). We therefore expect some profit taking in TSLA, as the Musk premium is now being shared with SpaceX.
βΊ TSLA's fundamentals have been weak recently, although I expect some improvement in the upcoming earnings report (at least better than current analyst expectations). Investment banks and research firms remain largely unenthusiastic about TSLA at its current valuation.
βΊ TSLA is currently losing money. The excitement surrounding a potential future merger with SpaceX is likely to fade. While such a scenario may ultimately be realistic in the long run, it remains far away. As a result, the SpaceX-related tailwind for TSLA should gradually diminish. We go SHORT ahead of the Fed rate decision.

βΊ We are seeing elevated volatility and a market that is interpreting the latest dot plot update as somewhat hawkish. In my view, however, the dot plot itself says very little - what matters is the outlook for oil prices and what Warsh, as the new Fed Chair, has to say about his policy changes and broader outlook. The Fed unanimously kept its benchmark rate unchanged in the 3.5%-3.75% range. However, nine of the 18 FOMC participants now expect a rate hike later this year - slightly more than the market had anticipated. Warsh himself apparently did not publish his own rate forecast.
βΊ The median projection now sees the federal funds rate ending 2026 at 3.8%, up from 3.4% in the Fed's March projections and 25 basis points above the current target range.
βΊ This does not surprise me. In reality, the Fed remains in a position where it can only very limitedly predict the future path of the economy. The removal of the broader easing bias from the outlook does indicate that rate cuts are unlikely in the near term. That is probably not what Trump would have liked to see, but it is also NOT a surprise. The market is overreacting here.
βΊ The FOMC statement was also significantly shortened - reduced to just 130 words from 341 words in the previous statement. This is a major change under Warsh.
βΊ We are seeing elevated volatility and some temporary selling in risk assets. Nevertheless, we remain LONG (both in the Nasdaq and FTSE, as well as in our stock positions - TSLA already hit TP for a nice profit, although I personally closed slightly lower).
βΊ We are buying the dip in gold here. Yields have moved higher, but only modestly (US 10-year yields are up around 3 basis points).

We can slightly widen our TP for INTC. While the FOMC dot plot update triggered increased volatility and some temporary losses in risk assets, we do not see the overall positive risk sentiment as being genuinely threatened. Elevated volatility will, however, continue to trigger waves of profit taking.
We expect risk assets to recover following the Fed meeting. Warsh is also likely to make it clear that he no longer considers this form of forward guidance particularly suitable going forward, which should further reduce the importance of the dot plot.
Sorry - for some of you this update likely came a little too late. If your TP has already been triggered, it was still a very good TP trigger. Congratulations!

βΊ The market initially reacted with panic selling. However, even before the FOMC rate decision and the release of the new dot plot (whose future relevance is now increasingly in question), we pointed out that the market should rebound from panic selling following heightened volatility.
βΊ We also see the USD gains as overextended. While the dollar's gains could continue for a while longer, we expect the USD to cool off again - at the latest during tomorrow's session. After all, the Fed did not raise interest rates. Although some FOMC members are expecting a rate hike later this year, the Fed is, in reality, in a "wait-and-see" mode for now.
βΊ The Russell 2000 was hit harder because parts of the market interpreted the Fed's message as hawkish.
βΊ Warsh made it clear that he no longer considers the dot plot and current forecasts particularly appropriate going forward, which should further reduce their influence.
βΊ We continue to stay LONG and can also opening a LONG position in the Russell 2000. However, we expect high volatility, so using a pending order may be appropriate. At the same time, we expect both the Nasdaq and European indices to recover and remain broadly bullish for June (unless, of course, the US-Iran deal fails to materialize).

βΊ EUR/USD has fallen back toward its June lows near 1.15000. We view part of the USD strength as overextended, although elevated volatility is providing additional safe-haven support for the dollar and USD gains could still extend somewhat further.
βΊ We are cautiously (!) going LONG EUR/USD here and generally expect the market to eventually recognize this Fed update for what it isβa clear sign that the Fed is divided and, above all, uncertain about the inflation outlook. This is particularly relevant in light of a potential US-Iran peace agreement, which has significantly contributed to cooling oil prices.

for our gold position - but we certainly got a bit lucky as well! Gold rebounded right into our TP before seeing heavy profit taking. The move was driven by very sharp USD gains and a market that appeared somewhat confused about how to interpret Warsh's first Fed press conference, which ultimately raised more questions than it provided answers.
βΊ The market also seems to be reacting negatively to the perception that Warsh is somewhat disconnected from the broader FOMC membership on certain issues.
βΊ Gold has now fallen by more than $100/oz from our triggered TP. We are re-entering here, although once again with caution.
βΊ The current panic reaction could push gold somewhat lower in the short term. However, we already see significant support around the 4200 area. More broadly, we continue to see upside potential and expect the market to eventually look past the Fed meeting, which in reality mainly demonstrated that the Fed still needs more data before making further policy decisions.
βΊ In the end, I see a market overreacting to a significantly more hawkish dot plot.
