#CutOffUpdate
Last year when I asked people about their marks, most were under 100. Scoring above 100 was seen as a sure shot to victory and 110 was a score which could have made even into forest services.
The cut off was at 98.
This year speaking with aspirants and seeing some online poll in our channel as well as few others, I can guarantee that many people have scored above 100. Considerable number is also scoring above 110.
But this year the number of seats are higher than last year's seats (782 vs 840).
So approximately 800 more people will be allowed to write mains. This will have a dampening effect on the cut off.
Also, yesterday's paper was on the lines of 2017 and 2015 question paper, albeit with an higher difficulty level. It was a quality paper with equal divisions of easy, medium and tough questions. The cut off in those years were around 105.
One more thing to note is that, EWS reservations are applicable this year. This may increase the general cutoff a notch higher.
Keeping all the above points in mind, its my humble prediction that this years General cutoff will be around 103-105.
The OBC cut off will be two numbers less. 98-103
SC cut off will be around 92+
ST cut off will be around 88+
So check your answers with 2-3 keys at max. If you're close in the numbers then start your preparation for mains after taking a break for few days. Wish you all the very best.
