⚒ CFTC opens the door to Bitcoin-backed credit lines
The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has taken a landmark step: tokenized collateral is moving from concept to pilot.
This means Bitcoin could soon serve as regulated, real-time collateral in credit markets — a potential game-changer for miners.
📊 Key facts:
►The CFTC’s Global Markets Advisory Committee has outlined a framework for tokenized, non-cash collateral
►Bitcoin ETFs already hold 1.3M BTC, much of it off-chain — and now regulators are exploring how BTC can work as collateral on-chain
►Miners have tested this before: Hut 8 lent 1,000 BTC in 2021, while MARA deployed thousands of BTC into custody-based lending and credit lines
⚡️ Why it matters:
Mining rewards are shrinking. For miners, tokenized collateral offers a new way to make Bitcoin work harder — not just as a mined asset but as productive capital.
☞ What exactly changes for miners? ☞ How secure are these credit structures after failures like Celsius or BlockFi?
💡We break it all down in our new LinkedIn article:

🤫 The hidden month that made October’s mining profits possible
Bitcoin jumped 10% in just a week. ETF inflows hit $3.47 billion in the first four trading days of October. Mining stocks — from MARA to HIVE — posted double-digit gains.
A familiar story: when Bitcoin rises, miners rise with it. But what’s less obvious is why some miners were ready for this rally long before it began.
In September, Bitcoin barely moved — holding around $100K. Meanwhile, network difficulty hit an all-time high of 142.34T, and the hashrate crossed 1 zetahash per second — an unimaginable level of competition.
Yet even in these conditions, some miners managed to increase production
• How did they pull that off in the toughest month of the year?
• What did September teach us about who wins when the next difficulty spike hits?
👉 Our new analysis breaks it all down:

🛠 How to stay ahead in Bitcoin Mining when hardware isn’t enough?
For over a decade, Asian manufacturers supplied the rigs that set global standards — controlling over 99% of ASICs. But hardware alone can’t guarantee profits anymore.
Miners are facing new realities:
🚨rising equipment costs
🚨shifting supply chains
🚨tighter margins
Even small differences in fleet management and operational choices can determine who thrives and who falls behind.
Some key questions now shaping the industry:
.• How long can legacy hardware remain competitive as upgrade cycles slow?
• Can partial local production or emerging US startups change access dynamics?
• Which operational levers offer real gains when raw efficiency is plateauing?
📌The answers aren’t simple — and they define the next wave of mining competitiveness

🗿Gold just crashed $2.5 trillion — and Bitcoin didn’t blink
The “safest” store of value suffered its biggest two-day fall since 2013, wiping out more capital than Bitcoin’s entire market cap.
Panic spread across traditional markets — yet something strange happened:
Wall Street moved toward Bitcoin, not away.
Morgan Stanley lifted crypto restrictions for its 300,000 financial advisors. Vanguard, long skeptical of digital assets, is preparing to list Bitcoin ETFs. Even Citi and JPMorgan are building institutional-grade custody and trading systems.
If just 2% of the $30 trillion in U.S. wealth-management portfolios flows into Bitcoin, that’s $600 billion in potential demand — more than the entire global gold ETF market.
Gold is cracking. Bitcoin is institutionalizing. Volatility isn’t weakness — it’s evolution

🌀 The crypto map Is redrawing itself — and Bitcoin isn’t the only player anymore
Bitcoin’s momentum may be slowing, but the crypto market is moving faster than ever.
A wave of new financial products and blockchain integrations is reshaping what digital assets even mean.
In just weeks: • Wall Street desks are openly modeling a potential XRP spot ETF, with early inflow estimates exceeding $1 billion. • Solana, Litecoin, and Hedera ETFs are already trading under the SEC’s new framework, signaling the first true altcoin ETF season. • Western Union, of all companies, is preparing to launch a stablecoin on Solana, linking blockchain liquidity to 400,000 retail locations worldwide.
The lines between traditional finance, crypto, and AI-driven payments are blurring fast. Stablecoins are becoming infrastructure.
ETFs are becoming the gateway. And blockchains are starting to compete not as currencies — but as payment networks.

📊 Bitcoin Mining faces historic stress — But the bottom may already be in
Bitcoin hashprice recently dropped below $35 per PH/s, while the network hit record-high difficulty and hashrate topped 1.12 ZH/s.
Miners are feeling the squeeze as revenues dip, and some hardware is already being scaled back.
At the same time, Bitcoin itself seems to have found a support zone near $80,000, signaling that the worst may be behind the market. Liquidity conditions are shifting, with central bank tightening easing and lending starting to rise, setting the stage for a potential recovery.
Is this the point where mining pressures start to ease and profitability begins to return?

💥 Hashprice collapses to $35 — and December may push miners even deeper
The industry just saw the sharpest profitability squeeze in its history
Hashprice dipped below $35/PH/s, brushing past its previous record low, while the next difficulty adjustment is forecast to rise again — despite already compressed margins and a network hashrate still hovering near all-time highs.
The temporary difficulty drop last week barely moved the needle. Average block times stayed under 10 minutes, signaling continued pressure on miners.
But the real questions start now:
• How long can miners operate at a revenue floor this low? • What happens if difficulty rises into a market that’s already underwater? • And which signals actually matter when both pricing and competition hit extremes?
These are the pressure points shaping the next phase of mining — and they’re moving faster than headlines suggest.

🤔 Why 2025 is becoming the year of miner shakeouts — and why not everyone is losing?
A growing number of Bitcoin miners are hitting the brakes this month — and the data shows why. The industry is facing one of the harshest economic resets since ASICs first went mainstream.
Hash revenue has slid so far that even some new-gen 17–22 J/TH machines now struggle to cover mid-tier electricity rates. All while the network sits near 1.0–1.1 ZH/s, pushing difficulty to levels where only the leanest setups survive.
And here’s the new twist most miners didn’t expect:
For the first time in years, ASIC payback windows have stretched beyond 1,000 days, surpassing the countdown to the next halving. Operators who bought hardware expecting fast ROI are now facing a math problem that no firmware update or cooling trick can fully ignore.
💥Yet despite the gloom, not everyone is capitulating. Some miners are staying online — and even expanding
💡We dug into the numbers, looked at what’s pushing rigs offline, and explored why some operators remain resilient while others are forced to curtail or sell equipment.

⚒️ Miners drive 12% of public Bitcoin — November shakeup reveals winners and losers
November was turbulent for corporate Bitcoin treasuries. Public and private companies added over 12,600 BTC, yet at least five firms sold part of their holdings under pressure. Meanwhile, disciplined buyers kept accumulating, showing that strategy now dictates outcomes.
Mining companies now account for 12% of all public BTC holdings, with Cango, Riot, and American Bitcoin among the largest contributors. Their mix of mining output and strategic purchases turned volatility into opportunity, while others faced mark-to-market losses.
These figures are drawn from the latest Bitcoin Treasuries November Adoption Report. We’ve distilled the data into a concise summary highlighting the key numbers, trends, and analytical insights for easy understanding.

The US power market is quietly changing the rules of the game
In key regions covering 13 states and more than 67 million people, regulators are revising electricity tariffs as AI data centers rush to secure direct access to generation. Power is becoming structured, scarce, and expensive.

🪬 Bitcoin 2025: which expert forecasts held up — and which quietly failed
December 31 calls for a reality check
2025 was widely framed as Bitcoin’s breakout year. It didn’t end that way. The $150,000 target never came. After peaking at $126,080, BTC rolled over and closed the year in the red.
But the real story goes beyond price
Throughout the year, experts made strong calls on ETFs, institutional adoption, miner strategy, and how the market would evolve. Some predictions held. Others unraveled along the way.
✅We revisited the key expert forecasts for 2025 — and separated what actually played out from what didn’t.
✅Then we looked ahead and compiled expert expectations for 2026, a year already defined by wider ranges and bigger uncertainty.

🙉 Bitcoin is moving up — While a structural decision looms
Bitcoin entered 2026 with renewed strength. Prices recovered. Risk assets moved higher. Yet one unresolved policy decision continues to shape the backdrop.
On January 15, MSCI will decide whether companies with 50% or more of their assets in digital assets should be excluded from its global equity indices.
This is not a symbolic move. MSCI benchmarks underpin more than $18.3 trillion in assets. Any exclusion would force passive funds to rebalance — mechanically, not selectively.
The proposal has been known since October. It coincided with a $12,000 intraday drop in Bitcoin and weighed on market sentiment throughout Q4. Estimates of potential forced selling range from $10 to $15 billion over time.
The coming decision will test how institutional rules interact with Bitcoin’s evolving demand structure

🚨 Bitcoin difficulty dips — but the network is already gearing up for another squeeze
Bitcoin’s mining difficulty fell to 146.4 trillion on January 8, marking the first downward adjustment of 2026. On paper, that looks like relief. In reality, the network is already signaling the opposite.
Block production is currently running at 9.88 minutes, faster than the protocol target. That means active hashrate remains high — and the protocol is expected to respond with another increase on January 22, lifting difficulty to around 148.2 trillion.
This comes after a brutal Q4 for miners. In November, hashprice dropped below $35 per PH/s per day, well under the widely accepted $40 breakeven level. That forced parts of the network to shut down. But the machines that stayed online are now pushing difficulty back up.

On July 6, Galaxy delivered 133 MW to CoreWeave at its Helios site in Texas, with CoreWeave already committed to 526 MW under a 15-year lease across all three phases. Helios was originally a bitcoin mining facility built by Argo Blockchain back in 2021; Galaxy bought it in 2022 for about $65M after Argo hit trouble during the crypto winter.
After the 2024 halving, mining margins tightened, power got more expensive, and AI companies started paying more for the same electricity miners used to count on.
But scale matters here: Helios is 2,200+ acres with gigawatt-scale grid capacity. That kind of pivot is available to almost nobody. Most operators aren't sitting on thousands of acres — they've got a fleet in a container. And the real question there isn't "leave for AI." It's simpler: is every unit actually pulling its weight, or is margin quietly leaking out through firmware and thermals nobody's checked in months.
