• Guardian of children
• Patron deity of deceased children and aborted fetuses.

✅ The expert panel of the Ministry of Environment Forest and Climate Change declined a request to exempt the minimum operational depth limit for underground coal gasification projects.
✅ The Ministry of Coal had proposed removing the 300 m minimum depth requirement for R&D pilot projects.

📍 What is Coal Gasification?

✅ Coal Gasification is a process that converts solid coal into synthetic gas (syngas) using heat, pressure, oxygen or steam, instead of directly burning coal.

📍 Composition of Syngas

✅ The produced syngas mainly contains:
• Carbon monoxide (CO)
• Hydrogen (H₂)
• Carbon dioxide (CO₂)

📍 Significance

✅ Cleaner alternative compared to conventional coal combustion.
✅ Lower sulfur emissions and reduced air pollutants.
✅ Enhances energy security by producing fuel, chemicals and fertilizers.

✅ National Coal Gasification Mission
