At the 4th National Conference, Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal described India’s 2019 exit from RCEP as "a tragedy averted by the Modi government".

Goyal argued that joining RCEP would have acted as a disguised FTA with China, threatening to destroy Indian manufacturing by opening domestic sectors to zero-duty Chinese imports.

He detailed a "cat-and-mouse game" where he repeatedly warned PM Modi that joining would ruin the economy, even as bureaucrats lobbied the Prime Minister to sign the deal.

On November 4, 2019, PM Modi rejected this pressure and withdrew from RCEP, protecting domestic industry. 🔥

Assam is looking to turn the Brahmaputra’s river silt into an industrial resource, with Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday inaugurating a Rs 55-crore green manufacturing facility in Tinsukia that aims to reduce reliance on red bricks

The green autoclaved aerated concrete (AAC) block plant, set up by Litebricks Pvt. Ltd, will use sediments from the Brahmaputra as raw material to manufacture construction blocks.

CCS clears Rs 40,000 crore next-gen corvettes for Indian Navy; mega warship order for GRSE, Goa Shipyards
