Donato/FC Bayern via Getty Images Bayern Munich is prepping to face Union Berlin... According to a report from Bild (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Bayern Munich defender Hiroki Ito continues to make progress in his rehab. However, the Bavarians are taking a very conservative approach with Ito’s return. After the Japanese defender suffered a setback two weeks ago, Bayern Munich wants to play it safe with a player, who could have a key role on the backline upon his return: Hiroki Itō completed an individual session, including exercises with the ball, alongside rehab coach Simon Martinello who was regularly monitoring the player’s performances through a tablet. Bayern are very cautious with the Japanese defender and doing everything to prevent another setback in his rehab.Aside of Ito, Sky Sport journalist Kerry Hau checked in with an update on Dayot Upamecano:Während die in Mainz eingesetzten Bayern-Spieler indoor ein Regenerationsprogramm abspulen, arbeiten Dayot Upamecano und Hiroki Ito auf dem Rasen an ihren Comebacks. Bei Upamecano besteht Hoffnung auf einen Einsatz am Samstag gegen Union Berlin. @SkySportDE pic.twitter.com/shcHKtNxQI— Kerry Hau (@kerry_hau) October 31, 2024While the Bayern players deployed in Mainz are completing a regeneration program indoors, Dayot Upamecano and Hiroki Ito are working on their comebacks on the pitch. There is hope that Upamecano will play on Saturday against Union Berlin. @SkySportDEOlise works out aloneMichael Olise — allegedly — spent more time flipping the bird to a few Mainz fans than he did on the pitch Wednesday in the DFB-Pokal, so the youngster got in an individual workout: Auch Michael Olise arbeitet heute individuell. #FCBFCU #FCBayern pic.twitter.com/TdY0t94OHX— Victor Catalina (@vcatalina96) October 31, 2024Michael Olise also works individually today.#FCBFCU #FCBayernUlreich, Peretz hit the pitch, while starters stay insideBack-up goalkeepers Sven Ulreich and Daniel Peretz went outside for some training, while the rest of the team, who played significant minutes against Mainz 05, stayed inside the facility at Säbener Straße:Auf dem hinteren Platz arbeiten Sven Ulreich und Daniel Peretz. FC Bayern Munich Training Session Photo by S. Mellar/FC Bayern via Getty Images The Bayern Munich youngster would almost certainly need to leave Bavaria in order to get that experience. If Mathys Tel departs Bayern Munich in the closing days of the winter transfer window, Harry Kane will stand alone in the Bayern striking department. Not that Tel has been playing at the No. 9 anyway — but the French youngster was thought to be a potential center-forward and a deputy for Kane. Instead, the senior player will likely need a new understudy.“Mathys is a great young player. I have worked with him for 18 months now. He has a lot of potential, works and likes to train hard,” Kane said after Bayern’s 4-3 win over Holstein Kiel on Saturday, in comments captured by t-online journalist Julian Buhl. “He can still improve, but he has the right mindset to do so.“Whatever his next step is, the most important thing is that he plays. My advice is that wherever he goes now, he should make sure he gets playing time and experience.” Additionally, Bühl reported that Kane did not have input in Tel’s decision to snub Tottenham Hotspur:Neither Tottenham nor #Tel asked him for advice. @tonline (2/2) #FCBayernLooking for more thoughts and analysis of Bayern Munich’s Bundesliga win over Holstein Kiel?
