AFC Bournemouth v Wolverhampton Wanderers FC - Premier League Photo by Robin Jones - AFC Bournemouth/AFC Bournemouth via Getty Images Bayern Munich might be more active than first thought this summer... Bayern likes Huijsen, focused in on Wirtz, backup for Kane (@Plettigoal)According to a report from Sky Sport journalist Florian Plettenberg, Bayern Munich finds Bournemouth center-back Dean Huijsen to be “interesting”, which we kind of already knew. However, with that report, it does disclose why Bayern Munich might not be able to afford Huijsen, whose release clause is roughly €60 million. Per Plettenberg, Bayern Munich is pushing to get Florian Wirtz this summer and a backup to Harry Kane: FC Bayern consider Dean #Huijsen a very interesting centre-back and have gathered information about him. However, nothing is concrete at the moment. He is not a specific target for the summer yet, mainly because he is currently too expensive and Bayern have other priorities: Wirtz, one or two new wingers, and a backup for Kane. The 19-y/o Huijsen has a release clause in his contract at Bournemouth, worth £50m, as per @FabrizioRomanoThe Kane backup is interesting because that seems to indicate that Mathys Tel will be sold — and that the club is ready to make at least a somewhat large investment in that type of player. Is Bayern Munich going to seriously go after Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyökeres and RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Šeško to be Kane’s understudy? It seems unlikely that players of that ilk would be willing to punt a season in their respective careers. One name to potentially keep an eye on, who is much cheaper, is West Ham United’s Niclas Füllkrug.Güler on Eintracht’s radar (@Plettigoal)With Arda Güler reportedly unhappy at Real Madrid, Eintracht Frankfurt could offer him a soft landing in Germany: Eintracht Frankfurt are closely monitoring the situation of Arda #Güler. #SGE are aware that the 20-y/o top talent is not entirely satisfied with his playing time at Real Madrid. While nothing is concrete yet, Frankfurt have the Turkish international on their list for the upcoming summer. As first via @AxelHesse1 and confirmed. But Eintracht’s current top candidate for the right wing, if financially feasible, remains Ritsu #Doan from SC Freiburg.Bavarian Podcast Works — Flagship Show: Season 7, Episode 33 (Bavarian Football Works)Bayern Munich took a weekend loss, but that is not at the forefront of mind for most fans. A flukey result majorly impacted by a red card allowed many fans to grant Bayern Munich a mulligan on the final score — mostly because there are bigger fish to fry this week. In addition, in a weekend rife with upsets in the Bundesliga, the loss to VfL Bochum did not end up hurting Bayern Munich too much in the league table. Let’s get into our slate of topics. This is what we have on tap for this episode: Unpacking Bayern Munich’s loss to VfL Bochum. Big deal? An anomaly? Just the cost of doing business with a condensed schedule? What does €80 million buy you these days? Maybe not much. Where do things stand ahead of the Champions League match vs. Bayer Leverkusen. Joshua Kimmich’s saga appears to be coming to an end. Were there winners and losers or did this finish up in a good way for everyone?Who was Bayern scouting at LFC? (The Hard Tackle)Sport Bild journalist Christian recently declared that Bayern Munich did not have interest in Liverpool FC defender Virgil van Dijk. However, other reports are indicating that Bayern Munich had scouts at Liverpool’s match against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League last week: A host of clubs, including Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, had observers watching Virgil van Dijk in action for Liverpool against PSG. According to TBR, Virgil van Dijk could have multiple suitors when the summer window opens, as his Liverpool future looks highly uncertain. Real Madrid and Bayern Munich had observers in Paris to watch the defender in action against PSG, as Liverpool are keen to keep hold of the key man and skipper. Bayern Munich, on the other hand…
AFC Bournemouth v Fulham FC - Premier League Photo by Robin Jones - AFC Bournemouth/AFC Bournemouth via Getty Images Bayern Munich will take on Mainz 05 this weekend! Don’t look now, but there appears to be some traction growing on those stories linking Bayern Munich to Bournemouth center-back Dean Huijsen. While it is far from a done deal, it at least appears as if Bayern Munich is a serious contender for the Spain international.Fabrizio Romano checked in with some news, which indicated Bayern Munich is interested, but needs to sell a piece or two to make a deal happen: Dean Huijsen has not decided his next club yet as £50m release clause will surely be triggered.Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal still ALL in the race talking to his camp.Bayern keen since January but depends on sales; Real Madrid haven’t decided whether they want new CB or not. There was more, though, as the Tz duo of Philipp Kessler and Hanna Reif (via @iMiaSanMia) reported that Bayern Munich has been observing Huijsen “for years”, but also that the Bavarians would likely need to shed one of its two big money center-backs (Dayot Upamecano and Kim Min-jae). Interestingly, the Tz reporters also noted that Bayern Munich would prefer any move to be for a left-foot center-back.Interestingly, Huijsen is listed as ambipedal (able to use both feet equally well):Dean Huijsen has been on Bayern’s radar for years. There has been and there’s still regular contact with his father and agent. Bayern would likely only sign a top centre-back if one of the current regular starting defenders were to leave the club. Negotiations over a contract extension with Dayot Upamecano have stalled, and there’s a possibility Kim Min-jae would be sold.Ideally, Bayern want to sign a left-footed centre-back.You want more? Good, because we have it. Sky Sport journalist Florian Plettenberg is reporting that Huijsen’s release clause does not need to be paid in one, lump sum. Instead, Plettenberg says that the €58 million release clause can be paid in three installments: What makes the release clause for Dean #Huijsen even more interesting: the £50m/€58m do not have to be paid immediately – it has been contractually agreed that the clause can be paid in three instalments. All interested clubs have been informed of this. Talks with several clubs are ongoing. No decision has been made yet. #LFC #CFC Finally, Romano (via @iMiaSanMia) checked in again with something that might pique your interest even more as he says that the Bavarians “love” Huijsen:Dean Huijsen is a player Bayern love. But at Bayern they feel that Premier League clubs can spend way more money, that’s why the club is not confident at the moment that they can make it happen - but they want the player and made contact with his representatives. The interest is 100% confirmed. Huijsen has yet to make his decision - but the situation is leaning towards a move to the Premier League.Hmmm…While reports indicate that Upamecano’s contract talks are on shaky ground and that Min-jae was, well, just shaky at times this season, there does seem to be a reasonable way to get a very good, young center-back.Should Bayern Munich just go for it with Huijsen?Bavarian Podcast Works — Weekend Warm-up Show Season 4, Episode 40It has been a wild week for Bayern Munich as the club prepares to try and capture the Meisterschale. That focus has not slowed down the news, however. The Bavarians are embroiled in key contract talks, transfer rumors and even potential heat on the front office. Needless to say, there is much to talk about. Let’s dive into what we have on tap for this edition of the Bavarian Podcast Works — Weekend Warm-up Show: Bayern Munich’s backline is on shaky ground at the moment — Dayot Upamecano’s contract talks have stalled, Kim Min-jae is on the hot seat, and rumors are indicating that the club could make a splurge play for Dean Huijsen. Everyone wants Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz — Bayern Munich now has to battle Manchester City, Real Madrid, Arsenal FC, and Liverpool FC for the Germany international.…
Crystal Palace FC v AFC Bournemouth - Premier League Photo by Shaun Brooks - CameraSport via Getty Images Departures in Bavaria are needed first, which could give Premier League clubs the upper hand. Bayern Munich’s search for a new center-back with left-footed ball-playing ability could be landing on the ambipedal Bournemouth star, Dean Huijsen. But the 20-year-old is a hot commodity on the transfer market, and Bayern cannot yet commit to a play for him — without shifting one of its own current center-backs. That’s according to a report from Sky Sport DE journalist Florian Plettenberg: FC Bayern have held partly concrete talks with Dean #Huijsen’s management in recent weeks. Max Eberl is fully informed about all the details. As previously reported, Bayern are exploring the market for a new top centre-back. Jonathan #Tah has also been discussed again.Huijsen is currently one of FC Bayern‘s top candidates – but only in the event of departures (e.g. Kim). That’s why Bayern cannot push ahead in negotiations at this stage. Other clubs are further along, with Liverpool and Chelsea, for example, showing more concrete interest. #LFC However, Huijsen can well imagine a move to Bayern. The race remains open. €58m release clause.@SkySportDE At €58M, Huijsen’s release clause should not be an obstacle for any of the deep-pocketed clubs interested. But Bayern’s inability to move just yet could be a problem, as Huijsen ultimately needs to be convinced by his next club first.Looking for more thoughts and analysis of Bayern Munich’s Bundesliga triumph over Mainz 05 ? Arsenal FC v AFC Bournemouth - Premier League Photo by Robin Jones - AFC Bournemouth/AFC Bournemouth via Getty Images Imagine Erling Haaland at Bayern Munich... Bayern likely to miss on Huijsen (@Plettigoal)It looks like Bayern Munich is going to get Bayer Leverkusen center-back Jonathan Tah, but it could be set to miss out on Bournemouth center-back Dean Huijsen — unless a few player sales are made.Huijsen could be headed to Liverpool FC, while Real Madrid is also interested: Understand that Arsenal and Liverpool are currently in pole position for Dean #Huijsen. A decision is expected soon. #LFCReal Madrid remain keen on him.A move to Bayern appears unlikely at this stage, as time is not on their side. To sign Huijsen, Bayern would need to make some sales — which haven’t happened yet. That’s why their focus is currently on Jonathan Tah, who is available as a free agent.Huijsen’s £50m/€58m release clause can be paid in three instalments, as previously revealed.Real Madrid’s interest could be even more serious than Plettenberg let on per transfer expert Fabrizio Romano: ⚪️ Real Madrid had a direct contact with Dean Huijsen’s camp and player’s priority is confirmed.Real also registered release clause details: £50m to be paid in 3 installments, not in one solution.❗️ Timing will be key as Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal are ready to advance. If you read between the lines, it seems as if Bayern Munich would need to sell Kim Min-jae (possible) and likely one of Kingsley Coman (possible, but not likely) or Serge Gnabry (very unlikely) to fund a deal for Huijsen. That scenario seems like it could be a longshot. As of now, it seems like a deal for Florian Wirtz is working from a completely different budget than any other potential moves for the summer. Bayern planning to chase Haaland? (El Nacional via 90Min.com)There is some likely unfounded speculation that Erling Haaland is unhappy at Manchester City and even more rumor mongering that Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain would be interested in the Norwegian: Erling Haaland is disappointed with Manchester City’s recent performances and is considering triggering an exit clause in his contract as early as this summer. Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich are both tracking the Norwegian striker. Given the massive expenditure that Bayern Munich seems about to drop for Florian Wirtz, a move for Haaland this summer is near impossible — unless Harry Kane moves on (which is very unlikely at this point). However, if Kane leaves in 2026 as expected and Haaland is available, Bayern Munich will 100% — at least — kick the tired on what it would take to get a deal done. After a torrid 2023/24 campaign, OM missed out entirely on a place in Europe but they are now guaranteed to finish on the podium in Ligue 1 this season, meaning that they will compete in next season’s UEFA Champions League. Medhi Benatia is therefore now preparing for a big transfer window with Marseille expected to invest heavily in their playing squad over the summer. However, free agent opportunities are also being explored by Les Phocéens. One particularly interesting option is Bayern Munich’s Leroy Sané (29). The Germany international is out of contract with the Bavarian side…
