dōrbhiḥ khaḍgam ca śūlam ḍamaru masidhanuścārubāṇam kuṭhāram
śankham cakram ca khētam halamusalagadābhinḍivālam ca pāśam|
vidyudvahnīmśca muṣṭim tvabhayavarakaram bibhratam śubhravarṇam
vandē rāmam trinētram sakalaripukulam mardayantam pratāpaiḥ||

Rough translation:

This sloka describes the fierce form of sri rama.

I bow down and salute to sri rama, whose shoulders hold the knife, trident, small drum(damaru), small knife, bow, arrow, hammer, conch, disc, shield, plough, long wooden pestle (rokali),mace, knife with cracked edges(bhindivalam), noose,lightening like fire in a tight fist and showing gesture of reassurance(abhaya hasta), who is filled with anger and white complexioned, has three eyes and whose valor crushes all enemies.

శ్లోకము 67

దోర్భిః ఖడ్గం చ శూలం డమరు మసిధనుశ్చారుబాణం కుఠారం

శంఖం చక్రం చ ఖేటం హలముసలగదాభిండివాలం చ పాశమ్ I

విద్యుద్వహ్నీంశ్చ ముష్టిం త్వభయవరకరం బిభ్రతం శుభ్రవర్ణం

వందే రామం త్రినేత్రం సకలరిపుకులం మర్దయంతం ప్రతాపైః ॥


తాత్పర్యం:

ఈ పద్యమందు శ్రీరాముని రుద్రరూపమును వర్ణించారు.

భుజములచేత
కత్తి, త్రిశూలము, డమరుకము, చిన్నకత్తి, విల్లు, బాణము, గొడ్డలి, శంఖము, చక్రము, డాలు, నాగలి, రోకలి, గద, భిండివాలము, పాశము, మెఱపును బోలిన అగ్ని, పిడికిలి,

అభయమును హస్తమునందు గలిగినట్టియు,

తెల్లని రంగుగలిగి,

మూడుకన్నులు కలిగినట్టియు,

ప్రతాపములచే సర్వశత్రువులను నలిపివేయునట్టి

శ్రీరామునికి నమస్కరించుచున్నాను.

Ślōka 68

duritatimira candrō duṣṭakanjāta candraḥ
surakuvalaya candraḥ suryavamśābdhi candraḥ|
svajana nivahacandraḥ śatrurajīvacandraḥ
praṇata kumuda candraḥ pātu mām rāmacandraḥ||

Rough translation:

In this sloka sri rama is compared to the moon.

i pray to ramachandra, to protect me, who is like
the moon to our darkness (sins),
the moon to the lotus like bad people(just as the lotus flower folds in moonlight),
the moon to the lily (kaluva) like devas (the lily blooms in moonlight),
the moon to the progress of the ocean like surya-clan (the ocean becomes active and full based on the moon),
the moon giving joy to his people,
the moon that ends the lotus like enemies,
the moon to the lily(kaluva) like devotees who bow down to him reverentially.

దురితతిమిరచంద్రో దుష్టకంజాతచంద్రః

సురకువలయచంద్రః సూర్యవంశాబ్ధిచంద్రః I

స్వజననివహచంద్రః శత్రురాజీవచంద్రః

ప్రణతకుముదచంద్రః పాతు మాం రామచంద్రః ॥


తాత్పర్యం:

పాపములనెడి చీకటికి చంద్రుడైనట్టియు,

దుర్మార్గులనెడు పద్మములకు చంద్రుడైనట్టియు,

దేవతలనెడి కలువలకు చంద్రడైనట్టియు,

సూర్యవంశమను సముద్రమునకు చంద్రుడైనట్టియు,

తన జనసమూహమునకు చంద్రుడైనట్టియు,

శత్రువులనెడు పద్మములకు చంద్రడైనట్టియు,

నమస్కరించువారనెడు కలువలకు చంద్రుడైనట్టి

శ్రీరామచంద్రమూర్తి నన్ను రక్షించుగాక!

ఇందు చంద్రుడు
చీకటిని పద్మములను బాధించును,
కలువలను సముద్రమును వృద్ధిజేయునని తెలియునది.

kaḷānidhim kāncanaśailadhīram|
kanjātanētram karuṇāsamudram
kākustharāmam kalayāmi cittē||

Rough translation:

i adore sri rama in my mind, who grants auspiciousness, who ruled (protected) vishwamitra’s yagna, who is the treasure chest of good qualities, whose valor parallels the golden meru mountain, whose eyes are like lotuses, who is the ocean of compassion and belongs to the kakustha clan.

కల్యాణదం కౌశికయజ్ఞపాలం

కళానిధిం కాంచనశైలధీరమ్ I

కంజాతనేత్రం కరుణాసముద్రం

కాకుత్స్థరామం కలయామి చిత్తే ॥


తాత్పర్యం:

శుభములను ఇచ్చునట్టియు,

విశ్వామిత్రయజ్ఞము నేలినట్టియు,

శాస్త్రములకు స్థానమైనట్టియు,

మేరువుతో తుల్యమైన ధైర్యము కలిగినట్టియు,

పద్మములవంటి కన్నులు కలిగినట్టియు,

దయకు సముద్రుడైనట్టియు,

కాకుత్స్థవంశస్థుడైనట్టి రాముని

చిత్తమున యెంచెదను.

vālmīki smrtimandarēṇa mathitaḥ sītāramāsambhavaḥ
sugrīvāngadajāmbavādi patagaḥ saumitricandrōdayaḥ|
vātōtpanna manirvibhiṣanasudhaḥ paulastyahālahalaḥ
śrīrāmāyaṇadugdhavārdhi ramalō bhūyāt sukhaśrēyasē||

Rough translation:

ramayana is like the ocean of milk, valmiki’s mind like the mandara mountain that churned it. born out the churning are : sita as lakshmi ; sugriva,angada, jambavantha etc like the trees (kalpavruksha); lakshmana as the rising moon; hanuman the precious (chintamani) gem; vibhishana the nectar; and ravana the halahala poison;. one who is blissfully immersed in this ocean of ramayana is bestowed with peace and prosperity.

వాల్మీకిస్మృతిమందరేణ మథితః సీతారమాసంభవః

సుగ్రీవాంగదజాంబవాదిపతగః సౌమిత్రిచంద్రోదయః I

వాతోత్పన్నమణి ర్విభీషణసుధః పౌలస్త్యహాలాహలః

శ్రీరామాయణదుగ్ధవార్ధి రమలో భూయాత్ సుఖశ్రేయసే ॥


తాత్పర్యం:

వాల్మీకిమునియొక్క బుద్ధి యను మందరపర్వతముచే తరచబడినట్టియు,

సీత యను లక్ష్మి గలిగినట్టియు,

సుగ్రీవుడు, అంగదుడు, జాంబవంతుడు మొదలగువారనెడు కల్పవృక్షాదులు కలిగినట్టియు,

లక్ష్మణుడను చంద్రోదయము కలిగినట్టియు,

ఆంజనేయుడనెడు చింతామణి కలిగినట్టియు,

విభీషణుడను అమృతము కలిగినట్టియు,

రావణుడను కాలకూటము కలిగినట్టియు,

రామాయణమను పాలసముద్రము సుఖముకొఱకు నగుగాక!

raghunandana ēva daivatam nō
raghuvamśōdbhava ēva daivatam naḥ|
bharatāgraja ēva daivatam nō
bhagavān rāghava ēva daivatam naḥ||

Rough translation:

rama, the son of the raghu clan (the one who gives happiness to the raghu clan), is our god.
rama,the one who is born in the raghu vamsha, is our god.
rama,the elder brother of bharata, is our god.
rama, the supreme divinity, is our god.

రఘువంశోద్భవ ఏవ దైవతం నః I

భరతాగ్రజ ఏవ దైవతం నో

భగవాన్ రాఘవ ఏవ దైవతం నః ॥


తాత్పర్యం:

రఘువంశపురాజులను సంతోషింపజేయు రాముడే మాకు దైవము.

రఘువంశమందు పుట్టిన రాముడే మాకు దైవము.

భరతుని అన్నగారైన రాముడే మాకు దైవము.

భగవంతుడైన రాముడే మాకు దైవము.

utphullāmala kōmalōtpaladaḷaśyāmāya rāmāmanaḥ
kāmāya praśamāya nirmalaguṇārāmāya rāmātmanē|
dhyānārūḍhamunīndra mānasarōhamsāya sansāravi
dhvamsā yadbhūtatējasē raghukulōttamsāya pumsē namaḥ||

Rough translation:

I reverentially bow down to the precious gem of raghuvamsha, whose dark complexion is tender and fresh like a lotus petal, who is desired by sita and dwells blissfully in sita’s mind, who is the beautiful swan in the peaceful lake like mind of the enlightened yogis, who destroys attachments with his incomparable and awesome luster.

శ్లోకము 72

ఉత్ఫుల్లామలకోమలోత్పలదళశ్యామాయ రామామనః

కామాయ ప్రశమాయ నిర్మలగుణారామాయ రామాత్మనే I

ధ్యానారూఢమునీంద్రమానససరోహంసాయ సంసారవి

ధ్వంసా యాద్భుతతేజసే రఘుకులోత్తంసాయ పుంసే నమః ॥


తాత్పర్యం:

వికసించిన నిర్మలమైన కోమలములగు నల్లకలువఱేకులవలె నల్లనైనట్టియు,

సీతాదేవి మనస్సునకు చంద్రుడైనట్టియు,

శాంతి కలిగినట్టియు,

నిర్మలములైన గుణములచే పువ్వులతోటవలె ఆనందము చేయునట్టియు,

మనోహరస్వరూపుడైనట్టియు,

ధ్యానము నొందిన మునుల మనస్సులనే మానససరస్సులకు హంసయైనట్టియు,

సంసారబాధను పోగొట్టునట్టియు,

ఆశ్చర్యమైన తేజస్సుగలట్టియు,

రఘువంశశ్రేష్ఠుడైన పురుషునికొఱకు నమస్కారము.

rājīvāyatalōcanam raghuvaram nīlōtpalaśyāmalam
mandārāncitamanḍapē sulalitē sauvarṇakē puṣpakē|
āsthānē navaratnarājikhacitē simhāsanē samsthitam
sītālaksmaṇalōkapāla sahitam vandē munīndrāspadam||

Rough translation:

i reverentially bow down to sri rama, who has lotus like eyes, is the superior of raghu clan, whose complexion is like that of a dark lotus, whose pavilion is surrounded by tender hibiscus plants and has the golden pushpaka chariot, who along with sita, lakshmana and other rulers of the world, is seated in his royal court, on a throne studded with nine gems, and is revered by the best of the sages.

శ్లోకము 73

రాజీవాయతలోచనం రఘువరం నీలోత్పలశ్యామలం

మందారాంచితమండపే సులలితే సౌవర్ణకే పుష్పకే I

ఆస్థానే నవరత్నరాజిఖచితే సింహాసనే సంస్థితం

సీతాలక్ష్మణలోకపాలసహితం వందే మునీంద్రాస్పదమ్ ॥


తాత్పర్యం:

పద్మములవలె విశాలములైన నేత్రములు కలిగినట్టియు,

రఘువంశశ్రేష్ఠుడైనట్టియు,

నల్లకలువలవలె నల్లనైనట్టియు,

మందారవృక్షములచేత ఒప్పుచున్న మండపమందు సుందరమైన బంగారుపుష్పకమందు రత్నస్థాపితమయిన సింహాసనమందున్నట్టియు,

సీతాదేవితోను లక్ష్మణునితోను లోకములనేలు ఇంద్రాదులతోను కూడి,

మునిశ్రేష్ఠులకు స్థానమైన రామునికి నమస్కరించుచున్నాను.

vallīpravāḷanava pallava pāda padmam
kanjēkṣaṇam jaladanīlasarōruhābham|
sīmantinīnayana mōhana mūlamantram
rāmam namāmi munimānasarājahamsam||

Rough translation:

i reverentially bow down to rama, whose feet are coral tinged (reddish) like the tender leaves of a delicate creeper (plant), whose bright and shining lotus like eyes are like the dark clouds filled with water, whose alluring form captivates the eyes of women as the personification of the root mantra and who is the beautiful royal swan in the peaceful mind(lake) of the enlightened yogis.
