Muslim Marriage Tips pinned «What Do People Look For in Marriage Today? In today's time, many people no longer begin their search for a spouse by asking the most important questions. They rarely ask: - Does he pray his five daily prayers? - Does he follow the Qur'an and Sunnah? - Does…»
If marriages were meant to be broken due to a mistake made by a spouse, nobody would be spared divorce.

A spouse is meant to be the strongest pillar of support during times of difficulty & hardship.

Instead of finding reason to hold a marriage together, today we tend to look for reason to break it.

Sometimes we overlook a thousand points of goodness in our spouses due to ten weaknesses.

Spouses who have assisted each other through errors & hardships are mostly much happier than ever before.

It is those who refuse to be helped & continue repeating their unacceptable behaviour who compel their spouses to rightfully consider leaving.

May the Almighty save our marriages in this age of divorce for the minutest reason. Aameen

🍀THE WALIMAH🍀

➡DEFINITION & RULING:

🔹The walimah or wedding feast is a meal offered by the husband to the friends and family. It is obligatory upon the husband.

📜Allah's Messenger ﷺ said:

❝Indeed, a wedding (or a bridegroom) must have a walimah..❞
📚Sahih ul-Jami' 2419.

🔹It is best to do walimah after the marriage is consummated, following the example of the Prophet ﷺ. But if that is not possible, then there is nothing wrong with doing it before the marriage is consummated, or when the marriage contract is done, or after that.

🔹It is better to say that the recommended time is flexible; it may be at any time from when the marriage contract is done until the end of the days of the wedding. That is because there is a report to support that, and because joy is greatest after consummation. But the custom nowadays to do it shortly before consummation.

🔹The walimah is the husband's obligation. However, it is permissible for other Muslims to help him in its cost or preparation.

🔹A newlywed should invite to the walimah his Muslim relatives, friends, and acquaintances.

🔹In inviting to a walimah, there should not be a distinction between the poor and rich.

📜Allah's Messenger ﷺ said:

❝The worst food is that of a walimah to which the rich are invited but the poor are not. And he who rejects the invitation (to a walimah) has surely disobeyed Allah and His Messenger.❞
📚Muslim, Narrated by Abu Hurayrah, Ibn 'Abbas, and Ibn 'Umar. see lrwa'ul-Ghal'il no. 1947 and as-Sahihah no. 1085.

➡AVOIDING EXTRAVAGANCE AND SHOW-OFF:

🔹Some people like to impress others about their wealth and status by holding extravagant banquets and receptions in expensive hotels, and by offering costly food and services that are often beyond their means and are extremely straining to their resources for a long time to follow. This is prohibited in Islam. It reflects an imitation of Shaytan as Allah سبحانه وتعالى says:

❝Do not waste your wealth senselessly. Those who spend wastefully are the brothers of the devils; and the Devil is ever ungrateful to his Lord.❞
📖Surah Al-Isra 17:26-27.

🔹And Allah سبحانه وتعالى says:

❝Eat and drink, but do not be excessive; verily, He does not like the extravagant.❞
📖Surah Al-A'raf 7:31.

➡INVITING MANY PEOPLE:

🔹Within what is reasonable, the newlywed should try to bring to the walimlah as many people as is possible.

📜Allah's Messenger ﷺ said:

❝The most beloved food to Allah is that on which many hands gather.❞
📚Sahih ul- Jami' 171 & as-Sahihah no. 895

➡HONORING THE GUESTS

🔹The guest has a right upon his host: he should be well treated and honored. Honoring the guest is a sign of true belief.

📜Allah's Messenger ﷺ said:

❝He who believes in Allah and the Last Day should honor his guest; he who believes in Allah and the Last Day should be kind to his kin; and he who believes in Allah and the Last Day should either say a good thing or remain silent.❞

Umm Kulthum bint Abu Bakr used to say:

“I prayed to Allāh to bless me with a husband who would pour love on me in abundance and worship Allāh a lot, so Allāh blessed me with Talha ibn Ubaidullāh (one of those who was promised Paradise).”

The Salaf reported from her that she said:

“If he saw me, he would rejoice, when he heard my voice, he would smile, when I smiled and if I cried, he would cry.

He would not sleep until he was reassured that I was warm in my bed, and he would not leave a prayer without praying for me in it before himself.

If I became ill, he would share my pain as though the illness was in his body, and he would not be at ease until he made me sit next to him.

Whenever he ate, he would start with a morsel to my mouth and feed me with his hand.

I was his pride and honour in secret and in public.”

Note:
Never stop asking Allāh ﷻ for a righteous spouse.

May Allāh make us righteous as we wish our spouse to be righteous, and grant us istiqāmah, آمين.

𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗠𝗲𝗻 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝗕𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗲𝗻: 𝗔 𝗦𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗽𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲

There’s a deep fracture unfolding silently within the walls of our homes, our marriages, and our societies. A fracture born not from external enemies, but from a subtle abdication of responsibility.

When men stop being men in the real sense; when they abandon their roles as leaders, protectors, and anchors of strength, the burden does not disappear. It simply shifts. And all too often, it shifts onto the shoulders of women.

A woman, by her nature, is not created to fill a masculine void. But in the absence of strength, direction, and emotional stability from a man — whether he is a father, husband, or brother — she is forced to step into a role that is not hers to bear. Not because she inherently wants to dominate, but because someone must carry the weight.

This is how we find homes led by masculine women who are hardened not by desire, but by necessity. This is how daughters grow into iron-willed women after being raised by men who were physically present but spiritually absent, or whose presence and absence were, on a moral level, equal. This is how wives become commanders, not companions, when their husbands surrender leadership, shrink from responsibility, and retreat into comfort or cowardice.

Yet here is the divine truth, affirmed by experience:

𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘢 𝘸𝘰𝘮𝘢𝘯 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘴 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭 𝘮𝘢𝘴𝘤𝘶𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘺 — 𝘨𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘥 𝘪𝘯 𝘮𝘦𝘳𝘤𝘺, 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘢𝘨𝘦, 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘨𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘺, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘶𝘯𝘸𝘢𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘱𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺 — 𝘴𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘰𝘧𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘴. 𝘚𝘩𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘯𝘴. 𝘛𝘰 𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘢𝘭 𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘦. 𝘏𝘦𝘳 𝘯𝘶𝘳𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦. 𝘏𝘦𝘳 𝘧𝘦𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘦 𝘱𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘳.

Allah has designed the man and the woman as complementary, not competitive.
The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم was the pinnacle of masculinity - decisive, firm, just - yet he was gentle with his wives, emotionally intelligent, and never oppressive. Because true strength never needs to shout. And true masculinity doesn’t crush, it carries.

The Qur’an gives us the example of قوامون — “… the protectors and maintainers of women”. Not as tyrants, but as responsible, moral anchors. Where this role is forsaken, chaos enters. The feminine becomes masculine. And the natural divine balance — of رحمة (mercy), سكينة (tranquility), and مودة (affection) — is shattered.

So let this be a call, not of blame, but of awakening.
If you are a man — become one in the true sense.
Because when you step up, she doesn’t need to.
And when she doesn’t need to, she blossoms into the woman Allah created her to be. Not a replica of you, but a reflection of divine balance.

𝗟𝗲𝘁 𝘂𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗵. 𝗟𝗲𝘁 𝗺𝗲𝗻 𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗲 — 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘀, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗮𝘀 𝗺𝗲𝗻.

__________

Addendum: You may have noticed or perhaps heard whispered in jest that some women seem to “shut off” their minds when they are with their men. They may appear more relaxed, less directive, less sharp in debate or decision-making. To the untrained eye, this might be misread as weakness, ignorance, or even regression. But in truth, it is something far deeper. It is not an abnormality. It is not a flaw. It is a confirmation of safety. A signal of trust. A return to balance.

When a woman voluntarily steps down from the seat of constant calculation, vigilance, and control in your presence — it means she believes. She believes in your leadership. She trusts your judgment. She feels your strength — not just physical, but moral, emotional, and spiritual. And so, she lets go. Not because she cannot lead. Or she lacks intelligence or insight. But because she no longer has to lead.
She no longer feels the burden of having to be both the map and the compass. This surrender is not submission in the modern, twisted sense. It is not oppression. It is not hierarchy of worth.

It is divine design at work — a woman returning to her natural state of femininity when true, grounded masculinity enters the room. It is the unspoken relief of not needing to be in charge anymore. Of finally exhaling. Of trusting the captain enough to enjoy the voyage.

In a world where women are often forced to stay on high alert — to calculate, to plan, to protect — this mental disarming is one of the most beautiful, invisible signs of a healthy masculine presence. So when she softens her logic and quiets her mind around you, do not mock it. Do not take it as inferiority. Take it as what it truly is:

A compliment to your manhood. A reflection of her confidence in you. And a silent, sacred trust — handed to you without words.

Guard it. Lead with it. And never misuse it. Because once broken, it may never return.

If marriages were dissolved for every mistake, no marriage would remain intact, for every human being is prone to error and shortcomings. Islam teaches patience, mercy, and striving to maintain the marital bond upon goodness.

A spouse is intended to be a source of tranquility, support, and cooperation in righteousness and in bearing life’s trials. Allah says: “And live with them in kindness.” And He says: “And they are clothing for you and you are clothing for them.”

The principle in Islam is to preserve marriages and seek reconciliation, not to rush toward separation. The believer is commanded to overlook faults, remember good qualities, and treat others with justice and patience. Ibn Taymiyyah emphasized that the foundation of relationships is fulfilling rights, showing patience, and correcting wrongs with wisdom rather than hastening to sever ties.

Many spouses overlook much good because of a few faults, yet justice requires balance. The believer weighs both good and bad and is not driven by anger or emotion alone.

Spouses who cooperate in patience, advise one another with wisdom, and endure trials together often find that Allah places barakah in their relationship and increases their love after hardship.

However, Islam also establishes limits. Persistent harm, refusal to fulfill obligatory rights, and continuous oppression are not to be tolerated. When reconciliation is no longer possible and harm continues, separation becomes a last resort permitted by Shariah to remove injustice and prevent further corruption.

The believer therefore strives first for patience, reform, and reconciliation, while recognizing that oppression and repeated wrongdoing must be addressed with justice and proper means.

May Allah grant harmony to the homes of the المسلمين, place mercy and understanding between spouses, and protect marriages from ظلم and unnecessary separation. Ameen.

Hadith
Narrated Ali ibn AbuTalib:
(The narrator Isma'il said: I think ash-Sha'bi attributed this tradition to the Prophet)

The Prophet (ﷺ) said: Curse be upon the one who marries a divorced woman with the intention of making her lawful for her former husband and upon the one for whom she is made lawful.

Marrying divorced women😔😔😌😌

From the problems that we face in our community is the shunning of women who are divorced/widowed, as if they are incapable of marriage, inferior or are not 'marriage material' when this is not the case, and when children are present in the picture the chances of marriage for the sister become even more bleak... Allaahul Musta'an.

Allah سبحانه وتعالى told the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم that He could grant him wives that were better, and from these wives He mentioned 6 qualities and 2 attributes, and from one of these attributes is the previously married (whether divorced or widowed).

Perhaps his Lord, if he divorced you [all], would substitute for him wives better than you - submitting [to Allah], believing, devoutly obedient, repentant, worshipping, and traveling - [ones] previously married and virgins.

Surah at-Tahrim: 5

If a divorced/widowed woman was good enough to be married to the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم then what about us my dear brothers?

Through the love, compassion and mercy we are obligated to have towards one another as Muslims we should be facilitating for the needs of our sisters and rejecting this corruption, this is also a reminder to the sisters to not be selfish with their husbands when they seek to implement the Sunnah of polygyny by threatening them with divorce and other things that we hear today.

May Allah SWT guide us all to what pleases Him and facilitate the means for marriage for our brothers & sisters that are seeking marriage. Aameen
👍12💯1
Stop threatening your husband with divorce because he chooses to practice polygyny. To marry up to four wives is rewarding, but it is often difficult to attach reward to a woman who seeks separation for this purpose.

"I have my money, job and children", can you marry them? There is a special solution a man brings to your life, which money, job or children cannot provide. What a responsible married individual stand to gain physically and spiritually is huge.

Do not allow the society lie to you that divorce is better than marriage, far from it, being out of marriage cannot give you 'half of deen'. In case you miss it, marriage has a lot of spiritual benefits.

There are advantages in marriage that create opportunities for women to make Jannah faster, unfortunately the society is preventing a lot of women from becoming beneficiaries.

When you leave a good marriage because your husband marries a second wife, who is your mentor?

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ، اللّٰهُمَّ جَنِّبْنَا الشَّيْطَانَ، وَجَنِّبِ الشَّيْطَانَ مَا رَزَقْتَنَا

With the Name of Allah. O Allah, keep the Devil away from us and keep the Devil away from that which You provide for us.

Bismillaah. Allaahumma jannibnash-Shaytaana, wa jannibish-Shaytaana maa razaqtanaa.

Be careful, many brothers check before marriage whether you are willing to compromise your family ties to break off your support networks. So that when they get abusive, no-one is there to punch them.

Meanwhile many sisters will ask “but why would you want me to stay at home” or something similar to check whether you are a doormat or not. They test the barriers of whether you think you should be obeyed WITHIN your remit as the head of the house.

In both cases, find someone poorer, sweeter, practicing and less makeup and be happy. Don’t waste your time trying to get the spouse your mates would approve of. They’re probably crying in secret anyway.

📌 THE PUNISHMENT OF ZINĀ (FORNICATION) IS INDEED SCARY 📌

Imam Ad-Dhahabt relates in Kitaabul Kabaa'ir, that Rasul Allah PBUH said: "Whoever touches a woman who is not lawful for him with lust, he will be resurrected with his hands shackled to his neck on the Day of Judgment. If he kissed her, his lips will be cut off and thrown into the fire. He will then say, "What did I do?" If he committed fornication, his thighs will says, "I was mounted for something impermissible." Then, Allah S.W.T will look at him with such anger that the flesh on the man's face will peel off. Then his tongue will bear witness against him and say, "I spoke to that which was unlawful." Then his legs will say, "I walked towards something haram" Then his hands will say, "I held that which was impermissible for me to hold."  Then his eyes will testify against him, "I gazed at that which was haram for me to gaze at." Then his private parts will say, "I committed the act."

Then one angel will say, "I heard it!" And another angel will say, "I wrote it down!" Then Allah will say, "I was aware of it but I concealed it."

*Those who boast with the evil deed they commit too 😗 because these people boasted about their relationship, broadcasted it to their friends, told the whole world about it and walked hand in hand with each other so that everybody knows of their sin, Allah~ will say to the angels: "0 angels! Take him away and torture him! My anger has increased on the one who has no shame."
