πΊ The remarkable tale of Ahmed Pandit's conversion to Islam unfolds the journey of a recently converted Indian Muslim. Despite holding the highest position in Hinduism (Acharya) and enjoying the social influence and status of his family, he embraced Islamβ¦
πΊ Even the highest rank in Hinduism couldn't prevent Ahmed Pandit from embracing Islam.
According to Rahyafte's report (Comprehensive Platform of Missionaries and New Muslims), by Samaneh Abdi, Ahmed Pandit, despite holding the highest position in Hinduism (Acharya) and enjoying the social influence and status of his family, converted to Islam and now lives a simple Muslim life.
Last Friday (October 12, 2006), I was invited to a small gathering at my colleague Mohsen Shabri's residence. The event was held in commemoration of Muhammad Abdul Momin, known as Ahmed Pandit, a recent convert with the former name Acharya Sanjay Dwivedi.
What makes Ahmed Pandit's story significant is that he studied Hinduism extensively, reaching the level of "Acharya," the highest degree in teaching Hinduism. He mentioned in his speech that after obtaining this degree, he could have become the head of one of the four major Hindu temples. At the age of 15, he was appointed as the head of the Birla temple group and also served as the president of the Brahmin Association in India.
If we delve into his family's political influence, his grandfather was the current minister of Uttarakhand, and his mother, Shri, served as the Minister of Education for over nine years in Uttar Pradesh.
During the commemorative ceremony, Ahmed Pandit shared details of his life and the path he took towards Islam. The complete video of his speech is available at http://www.urduaudio.com (in Hindi). Despite losing many worldly privileges, he is now living as an ordinary Muslim and has taken on the mission of spreading Islam, currently serving as the head of the Al-Huda Foundation in Hyderabad, India.
What triggered his journey towards truth? It was witnessing the commitment to prayer by a Muslim student in his school, where strict rules were enforced. This student, named Imran, faced punishment for being consistently late for prayer, showing a stark contrast to the lax attitude of Hindu priests. Imran's explanation left a lasting impact on Ahmed Pandit, leading him towards Islam.
Ahmed Pandit revealed that during a visit to Imran's house, he witnessed Imran's father praying. Imran's father, a simple man, was the Chief Justice of Bhopal. Despite his influential position, he led a modest life and taught the Quran to colleagues, lawyers, and other professionals in his home.
Their conversation continued, and Imran's father asked Ahmed Pandit if he knew Hindi well. Upon confirming his proficiency in Hindi and Sanskrit, Imran's father handed him a copy of the Quran with a Hindi translation and asked him to read it.
After passing the exams, Ahmed Pandit returned to "Gurukul," an area designated for students. There, he found the opportunity to explore the Quran. While reading, he discovered many familiar words, especially "Muhammad and Ahmed," aligning closely with what he had learned in Hinduism (Veda). This revelation had a profound impact on him.
In his conversion story, Ahmed Pandit highlighted the challenges he faced after embracing Islam. For more details, the full audio and video (in Hindi) are available at http://www.urduaudio.com. If anyone requires further information (for those who do not understand Hindi), I will write a second part, God willing. He emphasized that if the Muslim community is enriched with individuals like Imran and his father, the whole world will embrace Islam.
Ahmed Pandit, in a position coveted by many, chose to endure all hardships for the sake of Islam. Currently, he has taken on the mission of inviting his Hindu brethren to Islam. π #AhmedPandit #HinduToMuslim #JourneyToIslam #SpreadingIslam #FaithStory ποΈ
