Newly Converted American Muslim: Hazrat Abbas (AS) Became My Hero
Reported by Rahyafte (Comprehensive Platform for Preachers and New Muslims)
A newly converted American Muslim has expressed his deep admiration for Hazrat Abal-Fadl Al-Abbas (AS), recalling the heroism and sacrifice of the standard-bearer of Karbala. Azam Naseem Johnson, in a post on his Facebook page, shared his first encounter with the story of Karbala.
He wrote:
"I remember when I first studied the events of Karbala, the first character I came across was Abbas (AS). I read how Abbas (AS) went to fetch water and how he was ruthlessly killed, and how, until the last moment, he tried to deliver the water to his family! I don’t know what happened, but for a while, I forgot his name. However, I never forgot his loyalty to his family, nor the strength and determination he exerted for success. His sacrifice will always remain in my heart. Abbas (AS) became my hero. Please, in your prayers, ask God to grant me that same resolve and determination in His path. Subhanallah!"
This beautiful reflection of devotion and admiration for Hazrat Abbas (AS) highlights the profound impact of his character, even inspiring those from outside the Muslim world. May Allah grant all of us the courage and faith to follow in the footsteps of such noble figures.
