2️⃣ Herod's Reign (37 BCE)
- Antipater (a Jewish "deceiver") and later his son Herod seized power amid revolts.

3️⃣ Great Revolt (66 CE)
- Jews rebelled against Emperor Nero. General Vespasian besieged Jerusalem.
- Rabbi Yohanan ben Zakkai escaped in a coffin (!), met Vespasian, and prophesied his rise as Emperor. In exchange, he secured safety for Yavne and its scholars.

4️⃣ Temple's Destruction (70 CE)

- The Second Temple was burned.
- Controversial claim: Jewish sources cite "1 million killed, 100,000 enslaved" – dismissed by the author as exaggerated "victimhood propaganda."
