💠 Only Allah is your Vali and His Messenger and those who believe, those who keep up prayers and pay the poor-rate while they bow. (5:55)

🌹 In this verse the word wali has been used in the meaning of guardian or master or who holds authority superior to others. Please refer to the origin of the word wali in Sihah or Mukhtar al Sihah or any other good dictionary. The lexicographers have explained that he who manages the affairs of and exercises authority for another person is the wali of that person. This verse, therefore, means that those who manage the affairs of the people (mankind) are superior to all men, and certainly they are Allah, His messenger, the Holy Prophet, and Ali, who possesses all the qualifications enumerated in this verse. Allah has simultaneously confirmed His wilayah(superior authority), that of His prophet and his wali (Ali) in unbroken succession. Allah's wilayah is universal, so likewise, the wilayahof the Holy Prophet and his wali (Ali) must be so.

The Divine Appointment of Imam Ali (AS) – The Eternal Message of Ghadir

The event of Ghadir Khumm was not merely a historical declaration but a divine decree ensuring the continuation of prophetic leadership (Wilayah). On that momentous day, the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) stopped tens of thousands of his followers under the scorching sun to deliver a message that would define the future of Islam:

"For whomever I am his Mawla (leader), Ali is his Mawla."

With these words, the Prophet (PBUH) affirmed that Imam Ali (AS) was not only his closest companion but the rightful leader and guardian of the Ummah after him. This proclamation was not based on personal preference but was a divine command, as revealed in the Qur'an:

📖 "O Messenger, convey what has been revealed to you from your Lord. If you do not, then you have not delivered His message. And Allah will protect you from the people."
🔹 Surah Al-Ma’idah (5:67)

Immediately after the Prophet (PBUH) declared Imam Ali’s (AS) leadership, Allah revealed:

📖 "Today I have perfected your religion for you, completed My favor upon you, and have chosen Islam as your religion."
🔹 Surah Al-Ma’idah (5:3)

🔹 Why is Ghadir Essential?
The Qur’an makes it clear: Leadership defines the path of every nation and individual.

📖 "Remember the day when We will call every group of people with their leader."
🔹 Surah Al-Isra (17:71)

This verse reminds us that on the Day of Judgment, every individual will be resurrected under the leadership they followed in this world. The question is: Who will we stand with?

🔹 Will we stand with those chosen by Allah and His Messenger, or with those chosen by worldly power and politics?

The answer is clear: Imam Ali (AS) was the divinely appointed leader, the one who upheld justice, wisdom, and the true teachings of Islam.

Ghadir – A Renewal of Allegiance

Eid al-Ghadir is not just a historical event—it is a call to reaffirm our commitment to the leadership of Imam Ali (AS) and the path of truth. It is a day when believers renew their pledge to follow the divinely guided successors of the Prophet (PBUH), ensuring that their faith remains aligned with the will of Allah.

✨ A Reflection from Ayatollah Mohammad-Taqi Bahjat

💥 One of the unique virtues and remarkable distinctions of Amir al-Mu'minin Imam Ali (a.s.) is that even if none of the Shi'a sources existed, the Sunni sources alone would be sufficient to establish his legitimacy and rightfulness.

🔹 In other words, there are numerous narrations transmitted through chains that do not include Imam Ali, Imam Hasan, or Imam Husayn (a.s.), yet they still testify to his excellence, leadership, and special status.

🌹 This is among the signs of the extraordinary position of Imam Ali (a.s.) in Islamic history.
