I started wearing the hijab, and from the very first moment, I felt its benefits. The hijab is not just covering the hair; it encompasses modesty as well. Only after experiencing it did I realize that my hijab gives me an identity as a Muslim, a believer, and a respectable woman. The hijab protects me not only from the eyes of men but also from anyone who might evaluate me based on anything other than capability, intellect, and heart.
βͺIt's strange how the perception of unveiled Western women towards veiled women is so beautiful. Meanwhile, in our country, some teenage girls, with fantasy notions, seek a failed Western model.

πΊElizabeth, a newly converted German-born Muslim π I have always believed in God, even though at times my beliefs were weak. Embracing a new journey of faith and discovery. π Follow my spiritual quest on @rahyafte_en #NewMuslim #FaithJourney #ConvertStoryβ¦
πΊElizabeth, Embracing Islam from Scandinavia π
In an exclusive interview with Rahyafte, the missionaries and converts website, Elizabeth, a 22-year-old Scandinavian with German ethnicity, shares her profound journey to Islam. Born into a family associated with a Christian cult, she converted to Islam over two years ago.
π The Journey to Islam:
Sister Elizabeth, appreciated by the Rahyafte team, delves into her spiritual transformation. Growing up with weak faith, she sought answers throughout her teenage years. In her late teens, she began receiving the answers she longed for, eventually leading her to Islam.
π€ Choosing Islam:
Elizabeth was drawn to Islam due to its belief in One God and acknowledgment of all the Prophets mentioned in the Bible. The familiarity of these beliefs made her conversion a logical step, as she already believed in everything that a Muslim embraces.
π‘ What Attracted Her to Islam:
The concept of a singular, Almighty, and Most Merciful Allah (swt) appealed to her, contrasting with the 'trinity' concept in Christianity. She found it challenging to justify a belief in a God who is part of a trinity and a man (Jesus) being considered 'God' in Christianity.
π¨βπ©βπ§βπ¦ Family and Social Dynamics:
Elizabeth cautiously shared her conversion with friends and coworkers but hesitated with her family due to past religious experiences. While friends were supportive, her family struggled to understand Islam, influenced by media portrayals. Despite challenges, Elizabeth is currently married.
π Islam in Scandinavia:
Observing an increasing presence of Muslims, Elizabeth notes that Islam is still viewed as foreign. Many harbor misconceptions due to media narratives, and cultural aspects are often mistaken as integral to the religion.
π Favorite Quranic Verse:
Elizabeth expresses her love for Surah Al-Ikhlas, finding its significance in monotheism and its comprehensive description of Allah (swt) appealing.
π§ Views on Hijab:
Initially not understanding the choice to wear hijab, Elizabeth now acknowledges its purpose to please Allah (swt) and protect women. Facing family discomfort, she opts for a turban style. She highlights the importance of both men and women observing modesty.
π¨βπ©βπ§βπ¦ Family in Christianity and Islam:
Having grown up with the notion of male dominance in her Christian family, Elizabeth discovered the equitable rights women have in Islam. Islam emphasizes shared responsibilities between spouses.
π€² First Prayer and Daily Practices:
Initially finding prayer rituals unfamiliar, Elizabeth soon adapted. Prayer became a source of connection and, despite challenges in the West, is a distinguishing factor between believers and non-believers.
π¬ The Beauty of Islam:
Elizabeth attests to finding answers, peace, and a profound sense of gratitude in Islam. She acknowledges the divine planning of Allah (swt) and expresses gratitude for every new day as an opportunity for self-improvement.
π Closing Words:
Expressing gratitude, Elizabeth concludes the interview, thanking Allah (swt) for guidance and blessings. Rahyafte extends wishes for her steadfastness on the true path.

π From Christianity to Islam: A Journey of Discovery π
When I first encountered Islam in 1978, I was a young woman, skeptical and curious. I had always felt something was missing in my faith, and one day, a stranger handed me a newspaper saying, βMuhammad speaks.β I brought it home, and my father said, βThis is the true Islam.β That was just the beginning.
After a visit to the mosque, where the imam spoke about worship and serving God, I was deeply moved. It was different from what I knew in Christianity, where Jesus was the center of everything. I realized that Islamβs concept of worship was much broader, encompassing all aspects of life. I was intrigued by the teachings, and soon after, I embraced Islam.
π« Becoming Muslim
After becoming a Muslim, I faced challenges, especially with fasting during the hottest time of the year. But I soon learned that Islam isnβt about hardship; itβs about simplicity and peace. I struggled with wearing the hijab at first, but the more I learned, the more I embraced it, realizing it was a symbol of modesty and respect for myself and others.
πΏ The Importance of Education
My journey didnβt stop with conversion. I noticed that many Muslim women, including myself, lacked understanding of our true rights and responsibilities as women in Islam. This led me to found the "Healthy Life for Muslim Women" organization. Our goal was to educate women on the distinction between cultural practices and the true teachings of Islam.
πͺ Empowering Muslim Women
We began by educating women about their rights, marriage, family, and health. Over time, the organization grew, and we reached hundreds of women across the country. Our work extended to non-Muslim women, many of whom converted to Islam after learning about its beautiful simplicity.
π Islam is the Path to Peace
I learned that Islam teaches peace, balance, and fulfillment. It offers guidance in every aspect of life, from health to personal relationships. And above all, itβs about submission to Godβs will. When we trust in Him, we find strength and purpose, no matter the challenges we face.
π Grateful for the Journey
I am forever grateful for the guidance I received through the Quran, the community, and my journey into Islam. This is a path of knowledge, empowerment, and connection with God. Itβs a path that has changed my life, and Iβm proud to walk it every day. ππΌ

What Does the Hijab Really Mean? π§
You know, one of the most common questions people ask is: "Why do you wear that thing on your head?" π€
And honestly, it's amazing β I've asked Muslims why women cover their hair, and maybe one out of a hundred can give the real answer from the Quran. How can we expect non-Muslims to understand if we ourselves aren't clear?
The Quran itself tells us why we cover our hair.
Allah says in the Holy Quran:
"O Prophet, tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to bring down over themselves [part] of their outer garments. That is more suitable that they will be known and not be abused."
β Surah Al-Ahzab (33:59)
First: Itβs to identify ourselves as Muslim women.
This is an act of truthfulness β so everyone knows who we are. We wear it with pride. π
But it says so much more.
My hijab tells you:
"What stands before you is a woman of enormous strength, enormous courage, and integrity."
This woman will not lie, cheat, or deceive.
She will be the best employer, the best employee, the best friend, the best advisor.
You can trust her. π€
And itβs a warning to everyone:
"What stands before you is a woman who knows her worth.
She knows her value.
She is not a toy β so donβt even try to play with her."
This is a woman you take seriously. β οΈβ€οΈ
My hijab lets people know straight up:
I choose to be set apart.
I want you to know who I am.
This is what you can expect from me β and this is what I expect from you.
So when you come near me:
Leave your profanity somewhere else β I wonβt hear it.
Donβt bring me gossip β I donβt eat the flesh of my brother. π ββοΈ
This is what my hijab means.
This is how it identifies me β as a Muslim woman, consciously, courageously, completely.
