Maria Ahadi: From Imprisonment to Islam
According to Rahyafte (Comprehensive Platform for Missionaries and New Muslims), Maria Ahadi, a former female inmate in Fardis Rehabilitation Center, shares her transformative journey to Islam after encountering Hazrat Abolfazl (AS).
Maria Ahadi, imprisoned for 17 years on murder charges in three different prisons (Shiraz, Rajaei Shahr, and Fardis Rehabilitation Center), reveals, "During this period, none of the authorities were aware of my Christian background."
Attending the mourning ceremonies of Imam Hussein (AS) and hearing the elegy for Hazrat Abolfazl (AS) had an inexplicable impact on her. She describes her spiritual awakening and recognition of Islam through her connection with Hazrat Abolfazl (AS).
The cultural mentor at Fardis Rehabilitation Center, upon learning about her conversion from Christianity to Islam, introduced her to various books, including "Fatimah Fatimah Ast." Subsequently, she established a personal library with over 800 titles, reigniting hope for a new life. Maria documented her memories in seven volumes.
The initial challenge she faced after embracing Islam was memorizing Ayat al-Kursi. The profound satisfaction she experienced upon successful memorization marked a turning point. Prior to this, Maria had no belief in freedom or returning to society, even avoiding social workers in prison. However, with the support of counselors and benefactors, she gained the approval of judicial authorities and secured her release, attributing her transformation to Hazrat Abolfazl (AS).
Maria also briefly mentions her criminal case and obtaining the consent of the involved parties, facilitated by the rehabilitation section. Born in France in 1376, she moved to Iran, her homeland, where her father is buried.
A graduate in Persian literature from Shahid Beheshti University, Maria initially worked in a construction company in Tehran. Intrigued by the construction potential in the warm climate of Shiraz, she relocated to the city. An encounter leading to marriage resulted in a tragic incident in their rented house with a swimming pool, where her husband's attempt to teach the neighboring 7-year-old girl to swim ended in a fatal accident. Maria took responsibility for the incident to secure her husband's release, even though he later died in a car accident after two years.

Belgian Professor Embraces Islam at Imam Reza Shrine 🕌📚
According to Rahyafte (the comprehensive platform for missionaries and recent converts), citing the Holy Shrine authorities, Richard Killhord, accompanied by his Iranian friend, visited the shrine of Imam Reza to perform the testimony of faith (Tashahhud). He embraced Islam and Shi'ism by declaring the two testimonies.
This recent Belgian Muslim, who currently resides in Belgium and works as a technical professor at a university, shared, "I used to be a Catholic Christian by faith. However, about five years ago, numerous unanswered questions prompted me to explore various religions, including Islam. Eventually, I found Islam to be the most complete and satisfying religion, finding answers to my questions within it."
Killhord continued, "Interaction with Iranian and Malaysian friends, observing their behavior, made me more curious about understanding this religion. Witnessing the mourning rituals for Imam Hussein (AS) during the month of Muharram in Iran was particularly captivating for me, showcasing the belief, love, and devotion of the people towards the Ahlul Bayt (AS). This motivated me to delve deeper into the enlightening Islamic faith."
He further expressed, "Following a friend's recommendation, I visited Tehran a week ago. From there, I traveled to the holy city of Mashhad and reached the sacred shrine of Imam Reza (AS)."
The university professor added, "I cannot express what is in my heart about Islam before becoming a Muslim. I felt lost, like someone wandering in a waterless and barren desert with no hope of survival. However, with the honor of embracing Islam, I have been revived and found salvation from death."
Regrettably, Killhord noted that the process of conversion to Islam in Belgium is slow. Despite a positive trend encouraging people towards the truth, there is also a negative current hindering people from seeking the truth.
Commenting on the spread of Islam in European countries, he said, "In the past, Islam was relatively unknown in European countries, and people had little knowledge about this heavenly religion. However, currently, there is an increasing demand for understanding Islam, and hopefully, the future will witness everyone embracing this truth."
Regarding his familiarity with the Quran, he mentioned, "I have read the translation of the Holy Quran in English, which has greatly aided me in understanding the right path. However, I am eager to learn the Arabic language to read the Quran in its original form."
Killhord concluded by expressing his admiration for the Imam Reza Shrine, stating, "The shrine is truly amazing and different from other places. In this spiritual place, I feel a sense of tranquility, as if I am hearing the voices of angels in the heavenly and spiritual atmosphere of the sacred shrine of Imam Reza."
In the end, the non-Iranian pilgrims' management of Astan Quds Razavi presented him with a copy of the Holy Quran in English and cultural products to enhance his understanding of Islam. 📖🌍 #BelgianMuslim #IslamJourney #ImamRezaShrine #NewConverts #SpiritualTransformation

🔺Mélanie Georgiades, known by her stage name Diam's, the newly converted Muslim French rapper: "I found something in Islam to heal my emotional and spiritual struggles that I couldn't find in any other religion." https://rahyafteha.ir/61313/ #Islam #NewBeginnings…
🔺 Diam's, the French-speaking rapper, has moved to the holy city of Medina.
According to Rahyafte (the comprehensive platform for new Muslims and missionaries) Mélanie Georgiades, known by her stage name Diam's, is a French-Greek rapper who converted to Islam and officially announced her retirement from music on September 30, 2012. Recently, her friend, Vitaa, a famous Italian singer, revealed in an interview with La Provence magazine that Diam's plans to leave France for good and settle in Saudi Arabia. It’s been about a year since she moved to the religious city of Medina in Saudi Arabia.
In the interview, Vitaa stated: “France is Diam's country; it’s where she whispered her loudest dreams and connected with its people. However, as a Muslim citizen, she hated the discriminatory laws and didn’t want to stay in France anymore. Diam's was one of my best friends, and although she left music after embracing Islam, we are still close. She left France, despite her deep love for her birthplace, and now lives in Medina, Saudi Arabia.”
La Provence expressed hope that Diam's would return to France one day, as many had predicted her departure after her strong objections to the discriminatory laws against Muslims. This was especially evident when she posted a picture from Dubai on Twitter, leading many to believe she would move there. Nevertheless, many French people were shocked by her decision to leave the country and wondered why such a famous figure would leave. However, Diam's shared in one of her Twitter posts that she is happy with her new life.
She retired from her professional music career in 2009 and officially embraced Islam three years later. In 2012 and 2015, she published two books about her life, France, and Muslims, where she explained her conversion to Islam. These books sold nearly 80,000 copies and were well-received by readers. On September 30, 2012, when Diam's appeared on TF1 for her first interview after becoming Muslim, she was dressed in full hijab. She announced that she had become a Muslim and was leaving her music career behind for good. An Arabic magazine in the Middle East also reported on October 12 that the former French rap star had moved to Medina to live there.
When Diam's converted to Islam, she wrote to her followers on Facebook: “I want to take you through the winding path I walked; a journey that led me nowhere. I was always searching for happiness until I found myself. Yet, there was still something deep in my heart that troubled me, as if something had taken root within me, which led to my rebirth into this world.”
Vitaa excitedly said: "I am so happy for her choice of a new way of life. Some people may not understand her, but she’s made her decision and is content and happy with it. I often hear people say that she has been forgotten since she left music, but for me, she is still one of the greatest artists of this new musical era." Interestingly, after her conversion, many rumors and accusations surfaced about Diam's, claiming that she was ill or severely depressed due to her decision to wear the hijab and leave music behind.

🌟 From Christianity to Islam: A Journey of Discovery 🌟
When I first encountered Islam in 1978, I was a young woman, skeptical and curious. I had always felt something was missing in my faith, and one day, a stranger handed me a newspaper saying, “Muhammad speaks.” I brought it home, and my father said, “This is the true Islam.” That was just the beginning.
After a visit to the mosque, where the imam spoke about worship and serving God, I was deeply moved. It was different from what I knew in Christianity, where Jesus was the center of everything. I realized that Islam’s concept of worship was much broader, encompassing all aspects of life. I was intrigued by the teachings, and soon after, I embraced Islam.
💫 Becoming Muslim
After becoming a Muslim, I faced challenges, especially with fasting during the hottest time of the year. But I soon learned that Islam isn’t about hardship; it’s about simplicity and peace. I struggled with wearing the hijab at first, but the more I learned, the more I embraced it, realizing it was a symbol of modesty and respect for myself and others.
🌿 The Importance of Education
My journey didn’t stop with conversion. I noticed that many Muslim women, including myself, lacked understanding of our true rights and responsibilities as women in Islam. This led me to found the "Healthy Life for Muslim Women" organization. Our goal was to educate women on the distinction between cultural practices and the true teachings of Islam.
💪 Empowering Muslim Women
We began by educating women about their rights, marriage, family, and health. Over time, the organization grew, and we reached hundreds of women across the country. Our work extended to non-Muslim women, many of whom converted to Islam after learning about its beautiful simplicity.
🌙 Islam is the Path to Peace
I learned that Islam teaches peace, balance, and fulfillment. It offers guidance in every aspect of life, from health to personal relationships. And above all, it’s about submission to God’s will. When we trust in Him, we find strength and purpose, no matter the challenges we face.
🌟 Grateful for the Journey
I am forever grateful for the guidance I received through the Quran, the community, and my journey into Islam. This is a path of knowledge, empowerment, and connection with God. It’s a path that has changed my life, and I’m proud to walk it every day. 🙏🏼
