👨🎨13 September 1506. Andrea Mantegna (above his sculpture portrait☝️) passes away in Mantova.
Born near #Padua, in a place that today is named after him (Isola Mantegna) at the time under the Republic of Venice, #Mantegna was one the most prominent painters and engravers of the early #Renaissance.
Some said he was the only artist able to "sculpt on a painting".

Mantegna's works are held in the most important Italian and international museums.
In Venice we can admire just 2 of them, those in the pictures above☝️:

👨🎨📜17 September 1510. Giorgione (his portriat on the left☝️), one of the most mysterious painters of the Italian #Renaissance, passed away of pest in Venice. This is actually the only certain thing we know about #Giorgione.
He was born probably in 1478 in #Castelfranco, Medieval town 30 minutes away from Venice and at the time part of the Venetian Republic.
He moved to Venice very young and entered the Art School of 👉 Giovanni Bellini as a palace decorator, soon joined by 👉 Tiziano.
That's why Bellini and Tiziano are the main witnesses of Giorgione's work, due to the fact that he never signed his paintings.
Today we all can admire Giorgione's most famous paintings in the #AccademiaGalleries in Venice: among them "La Tempesta"☝️, unanimously regarded as one of the most beautiful and important artworks of the Renaissance!

📜 I'm pretty sure all know the Vitruvian Man by Leonardo Da Vinci, possibly the most iconic drawing in history, representing the perfect proportion of a man's body and the perfect connection between Art and Science ❤️🔥
I'm also pretty sure few know that the original drawing is held here in Venice, at the Accademia Galleries.
It's rarely displayed and visitable, due to the fraility of this invaluable work.
After many years this masterpiece is visitable starting from today until July 27, 2025 part of the fantastic Exhibition entitled Corpi Moderni.
👉 All info here.

📌👨🎨 The "Pala di San Giobbe", one of the many masterpieces by Venetian #Renaissance painter
👉 Giovanni Bellini, today held at the #AccademiaGalleries in Venice, will undergo restoration.
The fantastic (revolutionary in a way, for such an ancient painting) novelty is that restoration will be in public. So everyone who visit the Galleries has also the opportunity to witness and admire the restoration process 👏
