📀 Wind
#Ambient #AmbientPop #NewAge #ECMJazzStyle #PostMinimalism
40 years ago Gigi Masin from #Venice, #Italy composed his debut studio album.
Masin was a self-taught musician and composer, far from music business rules.
Wind was in fact not released and distributed, Masin printed few hundred copies for himself, some of which got destroyed after a flood. Those who wanted to buy Wind had to write him and possibly go to his house in Venice.
It became soon a cult album among musicians, artists like Björk and Nujabes often used samplings from it.
After many years Masin found out on the internet that the price for a copy of Wind had raised to 1000€, he then decided to reprint and distribute the album for everyone to enjoy and afford.
In this album:
#GigiMasin – composer, producer, synthesizer, guitar, tapes, piano, vocals, bass, violin
#AlessandroMonti – bass, backing vocals, piano
#MarcoBarel – saxophone
#MassimoDonà– trumpet
