🎼28 April 1969. Chicago Transit Authority release their eponymous debut album. The band changed its name in just Chicago soon after and it will become one of the most succesful American bands of the 70s and 80s, having sold more than 100 million records! 😳
But this debut album is indeed different from all Chicago's following ones: it's a double album that contains elements of jazz, funk, progressive rock, hard rock and shows all the band's great skills, which in my opinion were never to be repeated in their following rock/pop releases... and that's a shame if you only think that Chicago #guitarist Terry Kath was the favorite guitar player of... Jimi Hendrix 😳🎸... in the Chat Room you can maybe understand why !
